- anubhabp20250 contributionsAbsolutely worth itGreat trip, the route is absolutely scenic. The absence feels heavenly. The car was clean and well maintained. But the best part is our driver and guide Tim. He has a good knowledge of the area and the loves the place from his heart. A great experience to be remembered foreverWritten January 19, 2025
- 580carriez0 contributionsAmazing tripFANTASTIC DAY!!! We love our guide Tim, who is really nice, professional and humorous. We would surely recommend this tour to our friends. 😁Written January 18, 2025
- bazbro590 contributionsFabulous views and first class serviceWe were collected at Bowness Pier by Mark who took us through 10 different lakes, travelling places and hearing stories and facts that we wouldn't have known if we did this ourselves. Expertly driven in narrow lanes and byways too. Plenty of stop off points to get lots of pictures and see the lovely views. Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and at a lovely unhurried pace. We had ample coffee, toilet stops and a generous lunch stop in Keswick. My advice is Don't hesitate to book this tour of the Lakes. Amazing, ThanksWritten January 15, 2025
- penguin19630 contributionsGreat tourgreat tour. Peter Fox (not rabbit) was our driver / guide - a good knowledge of the region and good driver too. Saw all we thought we would see - fantastic views. I stayed on the bus at some stops as I don't have great mobility but it was no problem with him. Would recommend for sureWritten January 13, 2025

I couldn’t get enough of it! Tim was such a great guide and driver. He shared lots of interesting stories and fun facts. He’s super friendly, energetic, and went out of his way to take great photos and videos for everyone. What surprised me the most was how he turned moments when we couldn’t see certain views (due to the weather) into something positive with his great sense of humor. The breathtaking scenery of the lakes and charming surrounding towns was made even more enjoyable by our tour guide, Tim. The insights into the history, culture, and unique features of the area added so much depth to the experience. We secured Mountain Goat Ltd. for three full days of wonderful excursions taking our family of 7 north of Windermere towards Grasmere to tour areas where William Wordsworth lived, to Hawskhead and areas where Beatrix Potter lived. We toured Muncaster Castle and saw the Birds of Prey show. We even were driven to the western coastline of Cumbria and the Irish Sea. We saw much much more. Hardknott Pass was fantastic!!
These people are pros. I am so happy that we learned about Mountain Goat. Josh and Asia are the epitome of consideration for a traveler being exposed to sights and they helped me plan our itinerary. Our guides Davey and Jim shared their knowledge of the culture, the geology, literature....they were storehouses of information.

This was our second tour with Mountain Goat, and it was as equally excellent as our first. The itinerary was a perfect mix of beautiful scenery, Potter lore, and interesting Lake District facts and history. We quite enjoyed our guide, Lisa, and her contagious enthusiasm for her subject. Also her impressive skill in navigating the tricky narrow roads.

We thoroughly enjoyed our half day trip to visit Hill Top- Beatrix Potter’s Farm and we paid extra to go through the family home. The staff were very helpful and quite knowledgable about her life. The countryside views were beautiful and we stopped at Hawkshead to eat lunch (went to the Honey Pot- very good sandwiches there) and see the school that Wordsworth attended. There are cute little shops to buy things of interest. You can even buy the famous gingerbread at this location. We went to Amberside to get on a Ferry and ride it back to Bowness, where the official tour ends. Our tour guide Peter was very nice and accommodating and his knowledge of the Lake District is vast!!

A massive thanks to Gerry! He made our Beatrice potter tour experience something to remember! It was exceptional, leaving us overwhelmed with the amount of fascinating history and sights that he brought us to!! We even had an unexpected ferry ride midway which he proved his driving skills by collecting us on the other side without a second to spare!!!! The mini coach was air conditioned and super comfy, with Gerry narrating which made it really fun and even built relationships with each person on the trip. We picked the best day with sunshine that lit up Beatrice potters garden! The entry into the house was smooth and we didn’t stand in any lines waiting which wasn’t expected! We even had time to nip into the gift shop with Gerry waiting, he was really patient and stopped every now and then to let us see extra sights and villages which linked to the history of Windermere….even for some ice cream and coffee! Thank you ever so much for the wonderful experience! It completed our trip!

You can experience the life of Victoria Porter, the creator of Peter Rabbit, who is arguably the most famous character in the world, and the scenery and worldview all make you feel like you're in a picture book. It will let you.
A 16-seater minibus will pick you up at the limited express stop, Oxton (pronounced differently).
Our tour guide, Tim, who also speaks very good Japanese, was very kind and friendly, which will give us more stars to recommend.
The tour includes a boat cruise on England's largest lake and cream tea time, and provides a condensed view of the Lake District that would be difficult to explore on your own.
I think it will be a very nice vacation.
*This is just my personal opinion.

''The Beatrix Potter's Half Days Lake District Tour including Lake Cruis ''was the fantastic trip with beautiful viewpoints.Peter was our driver and guide and he talked very interesting about places we traveled through and visited. We were on the Hill Top and visited Beatrix Potter house and garden. We went to the Wray Castle with a beautiful view on the lake and hills. We had free time in the Windermere village ,so we choose to visit a church, the Helen's chocolates shop and the Beatrix Potter gift shop. We were lucky because the sun often peeked out from behind the clouds. It wasn't raining or windy so the views on the Hawkshead were also breathtaking. At the end we also sailed on the boat, taking in the picturesque landscapes. Thank you very much. The trip worth money.I highly recommended it.By the way I received this trip from my son and daughter as a birthday gift. This is one of those priceless gifts for me that has been engraved in my heart forever.Thank you .

Even though we were already National Trust members, my husband and I decided to take this trip rather than trying to visit Treetop under our own steam - and I am so glad that we did. It was so well co-ordinated and included a boat trip on Windemere (our driver dropped us off at the pier, bought the tickets and picked us up at the other end) and also entrance to Treetop (again this had to be pre-booked and this was all done for us). Our driver, Phil, was brilliant and took us all rouind the local area relevant to Beatrix Potter and also included a short stop at Hawkesworth. There was so much packed into our half-day excursion that we could never have achieved by ourselves and our driver Phil knew so much on his subject and dispersed his information in a very informative and entertaining way.

Our guide, Tim, did a fabulous job today, both narrating and driving tiny roads in the rain. We were a group of 13, and I think everyone had a great time at Hill Top, on the Windermere cruise, and at Hawkeshead. Pick-up and drop off were on time and easy. Booking was a cinch, and I'd recommend this company for anyone wanting to tour the Lakes. It's lovely to have someone else drive!

Excellent half day coach tour, 12.08.24, visiting places related to Beatrix Potter and of interest to us. Tim, our guide, was very knowledgeable, approachable and entertaining during the tour, attentive to his passengers comfort and enjoyment. He was also a very safe and competent driver on the very challenging roads around the Lakes, we felt entirely safe throughout. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Lakes.

Hi Kim
Thank you so much for writing such a kind review about the Ten Lakes Tour with Tim. We are so glad to hear you had a nice time.
The Ten lakes is the best way to see the lakes if you aren't visiting for too long but want to experience the 'must see' areas, and some that aren't that commonly suggested.
We are happy you could join us and we hope to be able to see you again soon!

I learned so much and gained a deeper appreciation of her many accomplishments! Combined with beautiful scenery and interesting stops, this all made for a very engaging afternoon!

Hi, what time does the tour start? Thank you
Written July 11, 2019
Hi Teresa
The Beatrix potter tour starts at 11:50 am
But they advise you to get there at least 11:40am so they can check paperwork
There is a souvenir shop there with reasonable prices so you can look around while you wait
They are very friendly
Thanks
Peter

No, not in the house or gardens which we spent about 40 minutes in but they can walk on the surrounding land so my husband stayed in car with digs whilst the children and I went in the house then we all walked up to the lake etc.
Written November 16, 2018
I personally would not recommend this trip for a child, the Beatrix potter experience at Bowness would be a better bet, with a separate lake trip to replace the one included in the trip
