Great tour! Awesome guide and driver.
Joe was an entertainer! He was knowledgeable, helpful, and very funny. He warned us before photo opportunities and even got the driver Faraz to slow down! We heard lots of anecdotes about various pubs, streets, and historical tales. It was great to see London and learn all about its history. The Hop On Hop Off offered flexibility and covered all the sites we wanted to see.

A Waste of Time & Money
A group of my friends - all experienced travelers- took the tour on Tuesday 16 July 2024 in anticipation. However we were very disappointed for the following reasons: Poor and uninteresting commentary. Terrible music most of the time In particular, there was no time to take pictures at stops of interest because of the short duration of the 'stop'. The £19 were a waste of money !

    Fabulous afternoon tea with sightseeing.
Fantastic time on The English Tea Bus. Our guides Anish and Sunmisak were fabulous. We had a really lovely afternoon tea and glass of prosecco. The food was so delicious (I loved the scones and red velvet). We got to see all the sights of London, being safely driven by Fahim. The very useful and complimentary travel mug was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend, we had so much fun. 5 star.

    Good, with one suggestion
The trip was wonderful, and the sites were breathtaking! If I have one suggestion, it would be to get headsets for all passengers to be able to hear the guide when we are walking around. We could hear the guide perfectly fine while on the bus, but it was very difficult hearing her when outside and among the throngs of other people at the sites. It’s okay to miss an historical detail here or there, but it is absolutely crucial to hear the details of when and where to meet back up on the bus. I have taken tours with other companies that provide these headsets and they make a huge difference in the experience.

    Amazing!
The staff are very friendly, the views were pretty. The food was excellent. Just the music could’ve been a little louder. Other than that, the Taylor Tea bus was amazing!!

    Fast-Paced, but Excellent Tour
I really enjoyed the tour! The pace is definitely noticeably fast - we only had about 1.5 hours at each location (which is outlined in the tour description), but it's still enough time to get around major parts of each spot and a good way to check off the bucket list. The time crunch was most notable for Windsor Castle; Bath wasn't nearly as bad and Stonehenge was just right (perhaps even a little too much time if you don't browse the souvenir shop). Bruce, our guide, was funny and informative, and clearly emphasized meeting and departure times. He also provided plenty of tips and recommendations to make the most out of our limited time in each destination, and introduced notable landmarks and photo opportunities along the drive. Definitely get to the meeting point early; I arrived around 7:15 and was able to board the first bus out, and we were also the first group into Windsor - saving valuable time inside the castle.

Jack, our guide, is a London legend!!!….highly recommend
I reviewed all the other bus companies and Golden Tours stood out to me as they’re the only ones with live guides (actual humans!) that sounded so great. We weren’t disappointed. In fact the experience exceeded our expectations. My family were very lucky to have Jack as our London guide. His knowledge of London blew us away! We learnt so much and saw so much. Jack’s brilliant sense of humour was a massive bonus! There was never a dull moment! It’s impossible to replicate this with a pre-recorded voice and headphones. We loved every minute and still talk about it now. It was such incredible value for money too. Well done Jack and thanks again. You made our London experience so memorable.

    Walking tour royal London
The walking tour of royal London is a compact and fun way to see some of the most important sights and learn a lot of interesting facts. Matthew was a great guide, informative and very entertaining.

Would think twice about booking with them…
I booked a tour for me and my family for Oxford and Cambridge from London. It was booked in English (and not in our native language - Spanish) because we hoped we would get a more knowledgeable, local guide who would be easy to understand for my parents to practice their British ear. However, we got a Chinese guide who was extremely hard to understand (even for me, a native speaker). Adding to this, we had to sit through every explanation in Mandarin which we don’t understand nor had any interest in hearing. And finally, the large group and lack of audio devices made following the walking bit very difficult. I’d recommend you check out other companies for your day trips from London.

    Jack was the BEST!
Our family of 5 decided to book this tour as our final farewell to London on the last evening of our trip. It was the perfect way to end! Jack kept us laughing the entire time as we enjoyed seeing this beautiful city one last time. Jack was witty, knowledgeable and charming. We are still talking about it. A magical evening!

Tour guide on bus spoke non stop with speakers so loud it was hard to understand what she was saying. Her heavy accent made it additionally difficult and often wandered off on subjects and jokes that made no sense.
Warwick Castle was the greatest disappointment.
The description in the tour ad only mentioned the castle. Except for one building with artifacts and paintings the entire property was a “kiddie land” for toddlers and preteens. The multiple food stands were junk food specifically for small children though there was one beer stand.
The bus seat where we sat was missing the entire back of the seat(?).
The highlight of the trip was a 30 minute break at Oxford. A great place to walk and enjoy a beautiful downtown area. However, that short respite was not worth the hot ride in the bus and the endless banter of the guide, much less the cost of a 9 hour tour.

Six of us did tour last Sunday it cost €180. We got on the red line and it was so boring all information was by way of audio. We swooped to blue line as we could not do the longer line to Buckingham palace as so boring. We got on blue line Dave and another was amazing and the live guide was hilarious.
However an announcement was made and we were told the bus would NOT be going to Buckingham palace and we had to get off the bus and walk. We were told there was a fault with another bus and our bus needed to rescue it. We were put off the bus in the lashing of rain and it ruined it.

This tour was very informative. It was the first day for our guide Stefan to give this tour and he was humorous, engaging and well versed on the subjects. The stops were given ample time to enjoy there offerings and Stefan filled in with interesting commentary. This excursion was worth the price and just looking out bus window was wonderful scenery. Our driver Key was first day on the job and was very personable. One suggestion I would make is that the driver or tour guide walk the cabin of the bus to insure the comfort of the passengers. Our bus became extremely hot and it wasn't until passengers brought it to attention was it realized and resolved. Key also needs to slow down a bit as I had to grab the handle of my forward seat a couple of times on curves taken a little to rapidly. Great tour would recommend to anyone. Go Stefan and Key!

Our original tour in the Cotswolds was cancelled the night before we were supposed to go. Golden Tours contacted us and offered this tour as a substitution. At first we were disappointed, but in the end we can’t imagine the day could have been any more perfect. This was due to our wonderful tour guide, Zozo, who made the day so fun and informative. He provided historical facts, information about London architecture and neighborhoods, information about each stop prior to getting there, and basically had us laughing with his jokes and quips the whole day. We appreciated that we were given choice when we arrived at each stop to stay with the guide for further narration or go off on our own and meet up later. He also did a great job keeping us on track to make the best use of our time at each location. Our bus driver was also safe and very personable making sure we rode comfortably. All-in-all, this day trip was a definite highlight of our European vacation and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like a day outside of the city to visit three fun places!

Golden Tours provided great transport with driver Marius who got us to each location on time. There was plenty of time at Warwick Castle to explore the whole area including the dungeon - a highlight for kids young and old. Likewise the trip to Stratford showed a good glimpse into Shakespeare's life and times with a bit of time to explore and have lunch etc. Possibly could have gone more in-depth with the Oxford experience to explore the colleges themselves plus it would have been nice to walk briefly through one of the Cotswold villages to take photos. It wouldn't have added more to the timeframe really. The downside was the guide Dolly who claimed that her grandfather bought property in Knightsbridge where she was born, and she attended Oxford University back in the 1960s yet she had a European accent of some sort and from the way she phrased things, English was not her first language. She said many things such as Shakespeare was at a particular pub that we drove by and then basically dropped dead. Nobody actually knows how he died, so all of this made me want to fact check her statements. She also claimed to have been on a tour group where they were so close that somebody wanted to have a photo taken with the Queen; she then passed a racist comment about them being crass Americans

Ilene is a very knowledgeable and informative guide. I liked her little sparks of humor and she took the time to get to know everyone on the tour and relate it back to British history. The tour started at Warwick Castle, which has lovely grounds. Then we went on to Shakespeare’s birthplace, which I thought I had to see, but it turns out I wouldn’t have missed much. I would have preferred to stop in one of the towns in the Cotswolds, which we just drove through at such a pace that by the time you saw a thatched roof, it was behind you. That was a disappointment, truly. The tour of Oxford is another head turner; so many Universities to keep track of, that you need a town map for later. It is gorgeous and awe inspiring, but feels rushed for this girl who loves touring college campuses.

Enjoyed our day with Grace and Jim today! The stories and nuggets of history before each venue helps to set some pretext - and given that the time alloted for each attraction is rather limited, it certainly gets us moving more efficiently. Thank you to Grace and Jim for the wonderful day!

Don`t ever book with this company. Very dubious conduct! I had booked an extensive tour of Oxfort which the company then decided to cancel on short notice with no explanation given. This other tour was offered to me as a replacement - although it is only half the price and I would not have been given a refund for the other half of my money which I had already paid! First attempt to rip off customers. Instead, I asked for a refund and made a new booking for the replacement tour. Its description clearly stated that we would "enter the 13th century University Church of St Mary the Virgin..." and that "all tour options include entry into the Church." When in Oxford, all we got was a quick talk on the streets. We did not enter anywhere at all. The tour guide just said that they only enter the church on Sundays now. Ridiculous! I would never have booked that tour if I had known. They just rip you off and what they advertise is definitely not what you will get! They also refuse to give me a partial refund for failing to deliver what I was promised. Do NOT book with them. Any other tour company is better. I also overheard the tour guide speaking pejoratively to shop staff she obviously knew about some people on her tour. All in all, very unprofessional and questionable behaviour on behalf of the guide, customer serive and management.

Although advertised as a luxury coach, transport was in fact a very small coach cramped and uncomfortable. The whole trip felt rushed with little time to enjoy each stop. A walking tour of Oxford was promised but our guide set off at such a pace that in this crowded city several of our group completely lost site of him and had to locate colleges and other places of interest independently. On the whole a disappointing day.

Morton was our guide for this guided tour to Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, and Oxford. We included the entrance fees with our package. We spent time in London and had one day to spend doing nothing or whatever. We picked this tour because we were particularly interested in touring a castle and Stratford upon Avon. Morton gave a brief history of medieval England and told stories of some of the towns we traveled through on our way. He gave us very specific information about what we should expect and suggested places to go when we were on our own. Keeping track of tourists is probably like herding cats and Morton did a fantastic job.

Warwick Castle was very interesting with a short history given by a medieval knight and a self guided tour through the various rooms. I would have liked to have spent more time here. Absolutely a beautiful setting.

Stratford upon Avon was a short drive away. Visiting Shakespeare's birthplace was really neat. The rest of the area is quant and touristy.

Another short drive to Oxford. Morton seemed to have extensive knowledge of the history of the school and the rivalry with the "Other School".

I have taken these kinds of tours before and the guides make all the difference. The destinations were interesting and Morton and the driver made it all a great experience. Morton finished by pointing us in the right direction for a fabulous dinner.
