About
Join us on Edinburgh's ultimate food and drink tour where you'll discover the city's hidden food and drink gems and learn why Edinburgh is the UK's number one destination to live. I am a qualified Historian with ten years teaching experience who knows the city like the back of her hand. I can't wait to show you an authentic side Edinburgh steeped in history! During the tour you will visit four over-the-counter eateries, sourcing local Scottish produce as well as two establishments to sample typical Scottish drink. Whilst touring, you will discover the history of two very chic, bohemian areas of Edinburgh: Morningside and Bruntsfield. In each of the eateries you will get the opportunity to sample a free bite size taster of a particular food item. Whilst you’re sampling the taster you will find out about how that particular food was lovingly made. Come on this tour if you're up for some fun, love good food and drink and a bit of history thrown in! Slangeva!

Great tour
Oct. 2020 • Couples
June was our guide and she was such a lovely lady. She told us about some history and about real life in Edinburagh. My dietary needs (gluten free) were catered for at all the stops. The food we had was all really nice and Robbie the owner of Cafe Grande was a gem! He was great craic and very informative. A fun way to see a bit of Edinburagh.

Perfect 30th birthday activity
Oct. 2020 • Couples
My boyfriend surprised me with this fantastic tour for my birthday and it absolutely exceeded expectations! Carly was a fab guide, it felt just like we were being shown around the city by a friend. I Ioved that the places she took us to were off the beaten track and the experts in each one were so passionate and knowledgable we both came away feeling like we'd learnt a lot! Robbie at Cafe Grande was absolutely hilarious and really made my birthday! Next time we're in Edinburgh we will 100% be booking in with Carly again :D

Wonderful knowledgable guide showing the authentic Edinburgh food scene.
Aug. 2019
Karly is wonderful, with true passion to show you the best of Edinburgh’s food scene and her strong interest in history, this will take you beyond your usual “haggis neeps and tatties”. Avoiding the cliché tourist hotspots to show you the true life in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Edinburgh. The food was delicious! My favourite were vegetarian Scotch eggs and the most amazing cupcakes.

Fun day out with a knowledgeable guide
Mar. 2020
This was a wonderful afternoon and evening spent getting to know not only Edinburgh but also Karly and the wonderful guests on the tour. The tour itself was only supposed to last around 5 hours but we ended up spending most of night chatting away in the golfing pub at the end. Karly made us feel welcome and part of something that went beyond your run of the mill tour. I loved the areas we visited and the food offered was delicious and all local. I would highly recommend coming on A Wee Taste of Edinburgh.

Fun and real
Jan. 2020
We had so much fun with Carly. She is a natural guide. Carly leads the group with enthusiasm, knowledge and charisma. On our tour we were only 4 guests which helped to make the experience more intimate. The first cheese samples were superb. All stops are quite interesting, small bakeries, pubs and delis. Carly is a pure Scottish lady, she shares a lot of interesting stories and curious facts. We especially liked this tour coz Carly took us off the city center into the real Edinburgh neighborhoods. Go for it, you won't regret it! If you'll bring a smile, Carly will turn it into a laugh! thanks again for the great experience.

Excellent afternoon!
Feb. 2020 • Couples
To celebrate our wedding anniversary we booked the food tour with ‘A wee taste of Edinburgh’.
Karly met us in Bruntsfield and the wonderful tour began there; visiting several delicious food and drink venues. Karly’s local knowledge and enthusiasm made the afternoon very special. The pace of the tour and time spent at each venue was perfect. If you are visiting Edinburgh it’s a treat not to be missed!

Amazing food tour with a lovely local guide
Dec. 2019
I couldn't recommend "The Wee Taste of Edinburgh" food tour enough. Karly is SO lovely and so passionate about food and has lots of really interesting facts about the city. We visited some amazing local spots to sample delicious food including cupcakes, cheeses, haggis bon bons (yum!) and we also did a fun drinks tasting with a local Scottish whisky expert. Thanks Karly, I'll be back!

Great food and drinks with a great guide
Nov. 2019
We booked this tour to fill an evening and it was definitely a great choice! At first we were afraid we would not find the meeting point, but it was just in front of the church. We really enjoyed the foods, drinks and definitely the conversations. We visited more places than we anticipated, maybe since there were only three of us. The tour was great, definitely recommended!

Unexpected Delight
Nov. 2019
The Wee Taste of Edinburgh Walking Food and Drink Tour was my first...and it was better than expected. The food and drink samples were a perfect balance between sweet and savory. All samples were locally shops. What made the tour a rememberable experience was Karly's passion for food and the city in which she lives. She is a delightful person and a great tour guide. The time flew by and we wished to have more time to hangout and eat.
