Overview

Spare yourself the hassle and expense of driving yourself around Ireland on a convenient Dublin Bay tour that’s perfect for lovers of natural landscapes. Explore the 12th-century Malahide Castle and its famous gardens, wander the quaint village of Howth, and enjoy sweeping countryside vistas. Your local guide puts all of these views into context and provides historical information you may otherwise have missed,

What to Expect

Leave downtown Dublin in a climate-controlled vehicle. As you travel through the countryside north of the city, your driver-guide explains the region’s history.

Your first stop is Malahide Castle, one of Ireland’s oldest castles. Richard Talbot, one of Henry II’s knights, first built Malahide during the 12th century, and it stayed in his family for almost 800 years.

After a tour of the interior, a stroll in the ornamental gardens, and a visit to the craft shop (and café, if you would like), you'll travel through picturesque Malahide village and along the rugged coast to the fishing port of Howth.

Explore the quaint streets and pretty harbor with its traditional fishing boats before heading up to Howth summit to savor sweeping views across Dublin Bay. Finally, you’ll return to your central Dublin starting point.

A beautiful tour...countryside, history, architecture...

Built in the 1300's this is a great example of ancient castle construction and how the ruling class lived. Getting here from Dublin was easy--several bus tours are available.

Most public transit or scheduled tours to Malahide leave from downtown and would involve a few transfers and a fair bit of time if you're starting at the airport. Taxis are somewhat expensive in Dublin, but it's a fairly... More
