Make your own way to central Strasbourg to meet your guide, group, and minivan for this behind-the-scenes tasting tour of Alsace’s best vineyards.
Start your trip on the Alsace Wine Route Ater, a 105-mile (170-kilometer) stretch of scenic roadway at the foothills of the Vosges mountain chain. Enjoy panoramic views of vine-covered slopes and red-roofed, fairytale homes tucked into the valley.
Your first stop is in Mittelbergheim, where you taste Alsatian wines that might include Pinot blanc, Sylvaner and Riesling.
Next, make a stop in Dambach-la-Ville, the largest wine-producing village in Alsace, known for producing riesling and gewürztraminer, for a tasting at a wine cellar.
Finally, visit Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr for your last wine-tasting session, where you learn about local growers such as the Trimbach family and Hugel family.
When the tastings are done, your minivan takes you back to Strasbourg.
