About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- SandJbusytravelers0 contributionsFun way to see the Alsace region! We had an amazing day on this tour. Great driver, easy pickup in Colmar and fun, open bus took us through the neighboring towns. We learned a lot about the Alsace region and enjoyed walking through the medieval towns. We also took a train ride and had a delicious wine tasting before returning to Colmar. Highly recommend this tour if you don't have a car as traveling throughout the region can be complicated.Written September 29, 2024
- 562cliffordh0 contributionsFirst class trip, relax and enjoy while transported to beautiful villages. My wife and I took this trip. Cannot fault it. Martin the driver was helpful, polite and a careful driver. It was a well planned trip with plenty of time at each destination and a map of each place. The villages we visited were all truly beautiful and the audio commentary informative. It was lovely to sit back and be transported to all these super places in a relaxed and stress free manner. Would highly recommend.Written August 25, 2024
- trvlr00010 contributionsHighly RecommendedAbsolutely fantastic tour of Medieval Alsace with Sebastian. 110%, 11/10 etc Sebastian looked after us all really well and is wonderful at working with each person. The towns visited were gorgeous- Eguisheim (one of most beautiful villages in France), Kayersburg (where I bought delicious cheese and tried truffle salami in the delicatessen), Riquewhir (visited 2x churches as well as wandered beautiful town with amazing architecture). Then we went to incredible castle of Haute-Koeninsburg. After this we went to wine tasting at Ribeauville. Sebastian was so kind to include tour of town even though this was not included on our itinerary. Worth knowing that Sebastian is also a taxi driver and you can prebook your taxi transfer with him (especially as can prove difficult to prebook taxis with other companies in Colmar in June). If I return to Alasace (which I want to) I will definitely be seeking to book with TourAlsace.Written June 20, 2024
- stefaniaspina0 contributionsA gentle scenic tour of the stunning Alsace villages wine route.Feeling quite tired after a week travelling around this tour was absolutely ideal for not much exertion was required. Our driver was also our guide. We were given a map of our route showing the villages we were going to drive through and those where we were to stop for a while. The vehicle was very comfortable and there were bottles of water on board. The weather was overcast and so we had the roof up for most of the day. It is a long trip for we left at 9.00 and were back at the bus station at 7.30pm. It was very peaceful, gentle and scenic. We drove very slowly through some villages whilst listening to a commentary. Mid morning there was a stop at a winery where we had the opportunity to try some local wines and make a purchase. We spent an hour in Ribeauville, and 2 hours in Riquewihr for lunch then on to Kaysersberg for an hour ending in Eguisheim for just 45 mins. The villages are very colourful and absolutely stunning. We took SO many photographs. Because they attract many tourists it was busy enough but I dread to think how full they become in the summer. We would like to thank our Argentinian guide for a wonderful day out.Written May 31, 2024
- Paul M0 contributionsAlsace MedievaleFull day tour, stops in Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, Riwuwihr, and Haut-Koenigsbourg. Stated out cool but by the end of the tour the carriage was open & very comfortable. This is mostly an on your own walk about in each village. Recorded information on each location is played while you’re in the bus. Driver drops you of at the top of the village and you meet later at the lower end of town. At your own pace 45 minutes to an hour each place . 1 stop over 90 min for lunch. You’ll see everything you want to see in Alsace; picturesque streets, the Franco- German architecture, and the mountains and vineyards . Good food , good wine not hard to find as you wander. Title taken from name of tour we took. The have several different tours.Written April 27, 2024
- R1480PCterryt0 contributionsLittle town, it's a tiny village. The entire trip was fantastic. There were some amazing sites to see and learning the history behind some of these villages was insightful. The driver we had was really kind and considerate. It was unfortunate that our tour had a group that went out of their way to give the driver a hard time, even though it was their fault they didn't read the tour description. So if anyone from the Tour Alsace team sees this, once again, our driver was great and super helpful.Written October 28, 2023
- denisebB2472VK0 contributionsGreat trip for seeing the area and villages.Loved the villages and the buildings. The castle was fantastic. The views were great. The van was nice and headset worked wellWritten October 23, 2023
- TheTravelerOwl0 contributionsIt worths every single centAmazing tour, in a whole day you can visit a lot of typical villages and stop in the most relevant ones. You feel like you're inside a storybook walking on cobblestones surrounded by timber houses, towers and castles. You can also spot beautiful landscapes from the hills beyond German borders and the Black Forest. Add also you are introduced to a wine maker offering a great tasting of various Alsatian wines and at the end of the day you'll enjoy Haut Koenisburg castle that is a no-words-to-describe place itself. Luckily we were a very small group and we were accompanied all day long by our guide Sebastian who deserve a special mention for his kindness and cheerful presence, not to question about his sharp punctuality too! It was a great day out full of interesting things to learn and stunning places. I surely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to have an introduction on the Region and its traditions!Written October 22, 2023
- Cruiser452566225390 contributionsWonderful!!We very much enjoyed our day. The towns were all very quaint with friendly people. The wine tasting was great. Very nice tour guide/driver in a comfortable cabriolet van. We lucked out as the weather was perfect for us too.Written October 16, 2023
- ceciliagJ9644CM0 contributionsGreat car tour of perfect Alsace spots !We traveled in Alsace to visit some friends of us. They suggested this tour, which was really wonderful to discover great spots of Alsace without a car : the bus driver was nice, the car was clean and confortable, the informations provided by the audioguides were fascinating, and we had just enough time to explore each of the small typical villages. The kids especcially enjoyed the visit of the Haut Koenigsbourg, an amazing castle with stunning views of Alsace, while we were happy to taste some good local wines before being drived back home !Written August 23, 2023

- ggak0 contributionsBest Christmas MarketI have seen a lot of Christmas Markets or Christmas Towns, but this by far is one of the best. Many stalls, places, food, and everything you want in a Christmas Market is here. If you do come, make sure you make dinner reservations as the crowds are big. Lots of fun for the family and kids of all ages. Put this one on your list for this year or next. It's a must see.Written November 27, 2022

- PSU700 contributionsNice ride - overpriced. We were staying in Strasbourg for a few days at Christmas and wanted to find a way to see Christmas markets in other cities with out renting a car and this seemed to be a good way to do it. Spouse and I were picked up on schedule, along with seven other people in a 15 person Mercedes van. Our driver, Martin, was courteous and a good drive. Over the course of 9.5 hours, we saw three French markets. In total, we spent six hours touring markets and the remainder of the time traveling. While we accomplished our goal of visiting other Christmas markets outside Strasbourg, I feel the price ($226 for two people) was too high. If I had to do it over again, I would buy a much cheaper train ticket from Strasbourg to Colmar and forget about the other two stops.Written December 23, 2019
- eagertraveller1230 contributionsLovely tourI very much enjoyed this well organised tour. Communications before were superb, and the van was comfortable, with a nice itinerary planned. I would have liked another 30 min in Eguisheim, but that’s life. The driver kindly dropped me off at the train station, where other participants also needed to be. Great tour!Written December 1, 2019

We were staying a long weekend in Strasbourg and wanted to see the countryside and therefore booked this tour. This tour was perfect for it. It goes by the familiar villages with the fairy tale houses, it goes through the vine region and it visits the only intact castle mountain castle of the Elzas (although the last one is a 19th century reconstruction).
They give sufficient time for at all stops. At every place I was able to see everything I wanted. In addition the bus has an audio guide available in 11 languages from English to Arabic and even French!!! This audio tour gives information on the history of all the places which are visited.

Beautiful experience. The trip takes place with a small bus with a sunroof if the weather conditions allow, in our case we found a great time. Alsace is very beautiful, with its picturesque villages and endless vineyards and this trip allows you to get a good idea in just one day with adequate time for individual visits. In addition to the villages where the stops are planned, the bus also crosses other towns. The only flaw is the absence of Italian in the audio guide, but the driver told us that they will remedy for the future!
A good compromise to see as much as possible without sacrificing autonomy in organizing visits.
Absolutely recommended!

If you’re staying in Strasbourg and you want to explore the surrounding Alsatian countryside, this tour is an excellent option. We met our bus driver Martine at 9am and he took us to the castle Haut Koenigsbourg and the towns of Riquewihr, Kaysersberg and Colmar before returning to Strasbourg around 7:30pm. While on the bus, we were provided with some historical information via an audio guide. Martine also escorted us to the starting point of each visit and clearly explained how much time we had at each stop and where to meet for the return. I thought the overall day was well organized, providing a nice balance of structured time with free time to explore on our own. I would highly recommend this excursion!

We spent a wonderful day with Jerome and our small group, (5 in total) we were collected from the pick up point in a comfortable Mercedes minivan were Jerome explained the plan for the day. We started by visiting the quaintest village of Eguisheim, think top level Beauty and the Beast vibes, infact we got to visit the cottage based on Belle’s home! It was simply perfect!!
We then drove through the rolling hills of the Alsace wine road on to the village of Riquewihr - another picture postcard perfect village we had free time to enjoy the village and get some lunch, we chose a lovely traditional Alsace Lunch - Saurkraut with 5 meats it was delicious. We then had a wine tasting in Dopff’s where we were able to sample Cremaint, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer all absolutely delicious. From here we drove though the vineyards onto Haut Koenigsbourg Castle another perfect location ans truly stunning views. The weather was perfect for tour and the views!
We had a magical day!
Jerome was the perfect host. His knowledge of the area and its history was as impeccable as his language skills, moving with ease from English to Spanish. He made the day! Thanks Jerome!

The sites selected were very good. The castle and the villages were excellent. My disappointment was that the "tour" was comprised of a canned narrative over headphones during the bus ride and nothing else. The bus driver, was just that.....a driver, and added nothing to the tour. The tour was basically a bus ride and a recorded program during the ride. No information was provided at the castle or the villages. That said, the bus was comfortable and we has sufficient time at each location to explore on our own. Also, the tour was both in Spanish and English and the bus driver was clearly more comfortable with Spanish.

We had a wonderful trip with our guide, Martin. We loved the small group and the mini bus with the roof that opened up. The amount of time allotted to each stop was perfect. We drove through more small villages than we expected and the tour information was interesting.

Lovely day trip by Tour Alsace! We had a good time even though we were unlucky to meet with rain through the day.
The tour seemed to be popular as the bus was almost full with every seat taken up. It’s winter so everyone had coats and there was a bit of a space constrain but nothing to worry unless you’re an exceptionally bigger person.
The bus was also equipped with umbrellas enough for the whole bus if you needed one. The driver handed them out as we started at our first spot, Haut-Koenigsbourg. We were given 1 hr here - which seemed to be just enough time for us to take a walk through of the entire castle.
On the way to the next stop, we drove through some lovely scenery and towns which the driver explained briefly about. And we arrived at Riquewihr which we were given about slightly more than an hour - you could have lunch at this stop if you’d like. Which we did and sat down at a local restaurant for a lovely meal. But that meant that we did not have any extra time to walk around the town after our meal. It was in fact a rush to even get back to the bus on time after our meal.
Again some nice scenery along the wine route and a short photo stop before we reached our Kaysersberg. Time here was sufficient and we had a good walk around the town.
Then finally we were off to Colmar which was the last stop. We started with taking the little train which was a tour around the town. It was a nice ride and highlighted all the attractions of town. The ride was around 30-40mins and including this time, we had a total of 2 hrs given for this stop. Just a suggestion but I would have rather had this extra time at Riquewihr so that we could have lunch and also time to explore the town. For Colmar, the little train actually covered most things so there wasn’t actually much else to walk around to explore - except to maybe revisit something that gained your interest during the train ride. So personally, an hour here instead of 2 would have been enough.
The driver communicated well and instructions were given clearly at every stop as to what time to get back and where to meet etc. Do be clear that upon entering the castle/town, you’re left to explore on your own, since this is not a guided tour.
All in all, a very nice day trip and we would recommend it to everyone. We travelled in a family of 4 (adults and elderly) and enjoyed the day. Giving it a 5 stars.
