Bordeaux Vineyards Wine Tasting Half-Day Trip
US$49.10
Overview
The Bordeaux wine region is one of the most famous in France and produces some of its most prestigious wines. This tour visits two wine chateaux in the St-Emilion or Medoc appellations, where you enjoy guided wine tastings, and learn all about French wine, including an explanation of “terroir” and its complex classification system.
What to Expect
Meet your group and guide in central Bordeaux and travel by air-conditioned coach to explore the wine regions of Medoc, St-Emilion, or Sauternes (depending on the day). Along the way, listen as your guide explains the history of French winemaking and the wines that put Bordeaux on the map. Hear about different grapes, the importance of “terroir,” and the seemingly complex classification system that includes grand cru, premier cru, and AOC.

During the tour, stop at two different wineries or wine chateaux, where you have chance to stroll the vineyards and explore the underground wine cellars. At each winery, enjoy a guided wine tasting and sample a selection of red, white, or rosé wines. Based on your preferences, your guide can help recommend other varietals you might enjoy.

Your tour ends back in central Bordeaux.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - DREADFUL!!!

This isn’t the most expensive wine tour but definitely dreadful value. An hour on a bus being bored senseless by a very dull guide - not enigmatic in the slightest. First Chateaux we tasted 2 VERY small glasses of wine - nothing special though. Then...More

Enjoyable but could be improved

Although this was a fun way to spend an afternoon I’m afraid it didn’t live up to our expectations. Our tour guide was quite strict and told us that we weren’t allowed to eat on the coach (despite the trip being at lunchtime and being...More
