Overview
Visiting Bavaria’s magical Neuschwanstein Castle by train makes it an even more memorable experience. On this tour, relax on the ride from Munich to Fussen, where you’ll have the option to walk or catch a carriage ride up to the castle. Save valuable vacation time by getting skip-the-line access, and learn about the site’s fascinating history with an included guided tour. Note: Coach travel replaces train during certain months.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with a roughly 2-hour train ride from Munich through the German countryside to Fussen. Note that the train is seasonal, offered during January through April and mid-October through November, and you’ll be traveling by coach otherwise. When you arrive, walk 20 minutes up the hill to the castle or opt for a carriage ride.

The price of the tour doesn’t include your castle entrance fee, but you can pay it directly to the tour company on the day of your visit. And by booking in advance, you’ll receive skip-the-line access.

Visit the castle interiors and towers, and get the photo ops and views of surrounding attractions including a lake, waterfall gorge, and Hohenschwangau Castle. Listen while your guide tells stories about the tragic reign of the “mad” 19th-century Bavarian king who commissioned the building of the castle.

Finish the day with a return ride back to Munich.

I'd give it a 5, but....

Our Radius Tour guide Dani (English) was great. She was very engaging and informative, giving us good insights and tips along the way. I would have given the tour a 5, but the check-in process with Radius Tours at the Hauptbahnhof was chaotic. Nevertheless, overall...More

Caution for those older or out of shape.

Overall the tour was worth the money however there are several areas that could be improved. The meeting point at the Radius tours office is at the far end of the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) near the Arnulf Street (Arnulstrasse) entrance so give yourself at...More

Highlight of my Trip to Germany

I have always wanted to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein and this tour did not disappoint. 5 stars to Jova for his ‘tella novella’ style of delivering information about the castle and its creator in juicy episodes. Jova had the best tips for managing the crowds, as...More

Radius tours good, castle tour disappointing.

We travelled to Neuschwanstein as the snow thickened. The coach was clean and comfortable, the only downside was that there was no toilet on board. I am sure most people would have happily coughed up an extra Euro for the convenience (pun intended) of a...More
