What to Expect
Begin your tour with a train or bus ride from Munich through the German countryside to Fussen. Note that the train is seasonal, offered during January through April and mid-October through November, otherwise you travel by coach. When you arrive, walk up the hill to the castle or opt for a carriage ride. Visit the castle interiors and towers, and get the photo ops and views of surrounding attractions including a lake, waterfall gorge, and Hohenschwangau Castle. Listen while your guide tells stories about the tragic reign of the “mad” 19th-century Bavarian king who commissioned the building of the castle. Finish the day with a return ride back to Munich.

We travelled to Neuschwanstein Castle on 7th Aug with tour guide Charlie. Overall excellent experience as this was our first trip with our 14 month old. We were bit concerned about how we would manage with the pram but I would strongly recommend young parents to take this trip.

Surely it is not easy travelling with a 14 month old, but glad that Charlie made it happen. Which 14 months old can say they already been to the "real" Disney castle? :)
