About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- gmegaffi0 contributionsMust do from MunichScott was an amazing, knowledgeable guide. It is such an important place with such a significant impact on our world history. You can go to the site solo, but it’s an incredible experience to take this trip with a guide.Written August 5, 2024
- Erika A0 contributionsPrivate Tour of Dachau with AdamAlthough I’d visited Dachau twice before, I felt it was important my friend also go while we were in Munich. Adam was very accommodating to ensure we made it back to Munich for another tour we had scheduled. Adam taught me so much more than I had known before about the memorial site. He was very patient with us and all our questions about both Dachau and living in Germany. Highly recommended taking a private tour with Adam! I also feel strongly that everyone should visit a concentration camp.Written July 9, 2024
- xoba0 contributionsA great value..As we passed by other groups of 20 or 30, struggling to listen to their guide, my wife and I were so pleased that we chose the private tour with Marcin, who was a superior educator. The tour was incredible. Extensive, fascinating, enlightening and sobering. I’m glad we did it, and highly recommend Marcin as your guide and resource.Written June 13, 2024
- W92JBjamess0 contributionsA Must-Do Tour in MunichIf visiting Munich, visting Dachau is an important tour everyone should experience. There's a lot of history, and it's worth having a guide versus on-your-own. We were in a group of 20, and Scott was very knowledgeable. He has dedicated his professional life to educating people about the holocaust and what happened at Dachau. The tour coordinated the transportation which was helpful too. I would highly recommend attending. Side note: Wear good walking shoes and sun screen.Written June 3, 2024
- KiwiAkld0 contributionsInformative history tourExcellent tour with a tour guide that had all sorts of information to share with us. Easy to follow instructions as to where to meet group, then very clear instructions from tour guide as to travel arrangements to Dachau. Guide was happy to answer questions and provide us with a very full and informative tour. Would definitely recommendWritten December 28, 2023
- MEM7777770 contributionsDachau Private TourOur family of four had a Dachau private tour with Scott and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide and tour! Scott was a wealth of knowledge and provided us a seamless tour despite the cold and rain. - L310WAlucy0 contributionsImportant Historic TourWe visited Dachau with our guide Marcin and he was very measured, balanced and insightful. With a wealth of knowledge on the 1900-1960 time period as well as detailed knowledge of site-specific history it was an educational and informative tour. Highly recommend to those visiting Munich as an important and informative tourWritten June 27, 2023
- W1243ATalanl0 contributionsYou have to do this!!!!This tour is a must-do. Having a private tour guide who knows the history, the nuances and the importance of telling the real stories made this incredibly memorable. It was surreal to be at Dachau, and to hear the stories from a German that understood the significance of the horror made it very real. We highly recommend having a private tour. They picked us up at our hotel, and drove us around Munich first to share some of the relevant historical landmarks before we even went to Dachau. We didn't expect that. In all, it was a truly amazing experience.Written June 20, 2023
- oftheseas0 contributionsA Must Do Tour. Very Moving. Our tour guide, Marcin was first-rate. He transported our group in our minds to give us a glimpse of the horrors the prisoners experienced. This tour is life changing. I am so glad we booked this private tour instead of trying it on our own. We learned so much. All of our questions were answered. Thank you Marcin!Written May 15, 2023

Great tour, lots of facts and information.
After meeting the group we all travelled together. The tour price includes the underground and bus ticket to the site which you could do yourself but it is much easier to do this.
The tour guide was interesting and took us to the best places and told us stories from some of the survivors he has met.
Be warned it is a very long tour with lots and lots of walking, wear good shoes
There is also nowhere to eat or drink at the museum so make sure you do so beforehand. Toilet stops are limited but the guide let's you know this in advance.
Not surprisingly it is a fascinating but very heavy tour due to the subject.

our time at dachua was extremely educational and informative. our tour guide sam did an outstanding job of explaining the history, he was extremely knowledgeable about dachua and munich. he gave informative details to help the entire group understand but took time to clarify and answer any and all questions we had.
we highly recommend this tour to any one interested and thank sam for his professionalism and kindness. spending the money on a tour is definitely worth it to help understand the site in its entirety.

I can not recommend this tour enough, it was so interesting and have never learnt so much on a tour. Our tour guide Marcin was incredible, he was so knowledgeable not only about the camp but about history from all over which really made the experience extra enjoyable and fascinating. I Have never known a tour guide be so confident and know so much not just about the tour but about lo of the surrounding history. He was extremely engaging and answered all of our questions. If you are travelling to Munich you need to book this tour you will not be disappointed and you will be surprised how much you learn about the city.

Our tour guide was fantastic in making sure we had an informative tour despite the train delays. Highly recommend going with this tour as the museum and camp can be overwhelming with lots of information. It was great to have such a knowledgeable guide to explain the history and significance of important sites at the camp that we otherwise would not have been aware of!

Fantastic tour. Our tour guide Marcin, was very knowledgeable and has visited many camps and spoke to many survivors that allowed you to get a different perspective, that you wouldn’t get just from reading the prompts in the museum. He was very approachable and answered any questions when we had them. He also had a binder that had photos that weren’t in the museum to get a better understanding. My husband and I were engaged the whole 4 and a half hours and would recommend this tour to all our friends and family.

Excellent tour, Marcin was a great guide and knew so much information not just about Dachau but about other camps, and the wider area of Munich, and how they interconnected. Really interesting day with so much more information than is given in the museum. The additional photos really helped to illustrate what the camp was like. Understandably food is not allowed to be eaten on site so there is no lunch break, make sure you have a big breakfast. This was the 2nd last tour being run this year and we are lucky to have been able to visit and grateful to Marcin for being such a passionate guide.

An excellent informative tour. Our guide was Hein who ran the tour brilliantly. He gathered the group together at Marianplatz and took us to the Dachau camp and back via train and bus with no difficulties at all. All of the time he was attentive to the needs of the 6 people in our group and he answered all of the questions that were asked him easily. He obviously has a huge knowledge of the history surrounding the camp and he was able to convey a clear understanding of the enormity of the atrocities to us without preaching. We were walked through the history of the camp from its creation to its liberation as we were shown around. We knew what we were likely to see but still couldn't help walking away shocked. A final mention for Hein... Thank you for the tremendous help and advice you gave us for planning the remainder of our trip to Munich.

My boyfriend and I took this tour with our guide Sam. Sam swiftly guided our group (13 people) through the metro and bus to the memorial site. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the memorial site, as well as the general history and related events. There was no question he couldn’t answer. He really seemed to have a passion and respect for the history and site.
This tour included a 20-25 minute metro ride and a 10 minute bus ride to and from the memorial site (the cost of this is already included in the price
of the tour). Sam ensured we all were returned to the meet-up location. Additionally, for those that needed different metro stops, he ensured we had all the details needed to depart the returning trip early.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone.

Wow! What a sobering tour this was. Marcin did an incredible job of educating about this horrific concentration camp and what the prisoners suffered while encamped here. He was so knowledgeable about all the Nazi concentration camps and willingly answered all our questions while being respectful to the history and the atrocities that were committed here. He also recommended a book to read by Viktor Frankl who was a psychiatrist prisoner survivor. I just finished it - very eye opening about the mentality of being a prisoner in a concentration camp.
I highly, highly recommend this tour!

I am so glad I booked the guided tour to Dachau. Adam was our tour guide and he astounded with his knowledge and compassion for all those who suffered and/or lost their lives during this horrific time. Experiencing Dachau for the first time, I left feeling deeply touched. Adam gave detailed information each step of the tour. Do not skip this tour if you find yourself in Munich.

Is there any place to buy food and drinks in the Dachau area? If not, can we bring our own?
Written August 13, 2019
Dachau is a town and there are places to eat. However, it took us all day to go through the concentration camp because there is so much to see. We brought sandwiches and ate them before going in and on the bus back to the train station and glad we did. We were so tired after touring the camp that it was nice to just have something in our backpacks. I would recommend bringing some food with you.

Is the concentration camp and its building still in place to walk around or is it simply a Museum showing those times?
Written July 27, 2019
Hello! If you please, we are four wanting a private or small group tour. Is this available and if so what are the rates? Date is October 1st.

I would like to book your Dachau tour on May 9, 2019 leaving at 11:40. However, my fight arrives at 8:25 AM, not knowing if I will make the 11;40 tour. Please advise the distance from the Hilton Munich City Hotel to your location of getting the tour. Thank you

Where do you specifically meet in Marienplatz? Above ground of the S or U-bahn? I would hate to buy a ticket and not locate the tour group.
