    Montserrat bilingual tour
The tour itself was great! However, because it was a bilingual tour (which we did not realize when we ordered online), we lost a significant amount of time at the location.

    Beautiful but missing parts
The tour and monserrate were beautiful. But we were disappointed that we paid for the cogwheel train and we not given the opportunity to go up on it. The tour guide gathered us and put us on the bus and didn't give us time or explain why we weren't given that part of the tour. We weren't the only ones with this issue i believe we should at least get a discount since we paid for the train

Good and enjoyable trip with family
Started in the morning at 1015 am sharp on time. The journey was very pleasant. It was made even more beautiful and enjoyable by our guide Miri who was there with us throughout with a sweet smile on her face. She guided us properly regarding everything and gave us also a in depth history and significance of the site. Would highly recommend ❤️.

    Good experience
The guided visit by sandra and elizabeth was excellent, mainly because they were really involved with the group, and they were aware of how to guide throughout the city. I would also highlight the good planning and organization throughout the whole experiences

First, the Sagrada is a MUST see! It is absolutely spectacular and worth every penny of your entrance fee...the interior is unbelievable.

We booked this tour for October 2021, the off-season for tourism. Based on the lines at the Sagrada ticket booth, I would have skipped paying extra for this tour. The lines were relatively short and you can do a self-guided tour with earphones. Consider the time of year and day of the week before paying extra for a fast track tour; really wasn't much faster.

The tour itself was frustrating because I thought I booked an English speaking tour. However, Julia Tours decides if you get an English speaking tour OR a bilingual tour and you won't know until you get there. We received the bilingual tour which led to our tour guide giving the tour in both English and Spanish. Based the little bit of Spanish I know, it was obvious on what I could understand and the amount of time our guide spoke in Spanish, the English version of the tour was much more condensed. Our tour guide was very nice and I have no idea if this was intention or not, but it was disappointing.

Confirm before you buy!

Dear Charli A, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our Sagrada Familia tour. I sincerely regret to hear our tour did not live up to your expectations. Please note, not all our tours are operated in English nor in English only. We do offer time slots daily in which English is the only spoken language, but we do offer bilingual tours too, which was your tour's option. Nevertheless, I am glad to learn you enjoyed the visit to the Basilica. Best Regards, Alex B.

Please save your money - we did the ticket via Expedia it was a fast track ticket with tower access and English / French tour. It was through Julia travel. It was so disorganized and such a waste. It was both English and French which made the 45 minute tour majority French. Spent more time waiting in lines and tour started at 9 and we didn’t enter the sagrata until 9:45, and spent about 20 minutes inside just standing still. It was painfully slow, walking about 3 feet and stopping again. You are so much better off getting the audio guide and going yourself. She skipped a lot inside the church and chose to talk a lot about the stones used to construct it. Getting into the tower was another super long wait in line while others without a group go in immediately. Our tour guide was nice but was super slow, disorganized on getting us anywhere, repeated herself a lot and let the French guests push her around. It was a much bigger group than I expected for the cost - about 25/30 people. Only about 7 of the guests were French yet 70% of the tour was in French. Such a waste of money, her actually speaking was about 45 minutes and majority of that was in French. The tower is FANTASTIC. Amazing views and worth the ticket, just a lot of steps down - beware if you take someone not super mobile. The sagrata is amazing I am just frustrated how poor the tour itself was.

Dear paquincaroline, Thank you for sharing this review, Kindly take note the Sagrada Familia guided tour begins at the meeting point. Sagrada Familia´s special conditions for group entrance indicate that every official guide must be accredited to enter, please bear in mind these proceedings can not be skipped or rushed. I regret to hear the guided tour was not satisfactory due in part to other customers inquires, nevertheless our guides are instructed to answer customers questions since we consider it a meaningful part of an enjoyable guided tour. Regarding the access to the Tower, the option of your booking included the entrance but it is not a skip the line for the Tower access, customers are requested to queue in order to access the elevator. This information, as well as the size of the guided group, is informed to all authorized selling points. Best regards,

After using a similar service in Seville a few years ago, we wanted to (A) fast track the long que's outside Sagrada Famillia, and (B) have an English speaking guide to understand all the features and ongoing work. Booking was very easy, price seemed good in comparison to similar services, the office opposite was easy to locate, the group was small, and our guide was friendly, relaxed, amusing and very informatitve. We were all issued personal disposable headphones to hear the guides comentary inside the cathedral. Well worth booking this fast track and tour.

We're really glad we paid for a guided tour of the Sagrada Familia and are very grateful to our guide Isabel who was funny, knowledgable, patient and informative. We went on the first tour of the day, which I'd recommend as the site really filled up quickly while we were there.

The Julia Travel Office is just over the road from the church on Carrer de Sardenya so was very easy to find. From there we were escorted over to the fast-track entry and were quickly through the security check and into the grounds on the Nativity side. The intricate detail in the facade is absolutely stunning and Isabel was able to point out things we wouldn't have spotted on an unaccompanied tour and give us a potted history of Gaudi's ideas and the the project to build this stupendous monument.

Entering the Sagrada Familia is astonishing. The size is almost literally breathtaking. We learned so much about the symbolism all around us; the windows, the use of colour and light, the statues. Isabel's commentary was delivered via headsets so there was some freedom to move about and still saty connected to the tour, rather than always having to stand near to where she was.

The tour ends on the Passion side, where people who have paid to go to the tower continue their tour. Isobel pointed out the route to the museum and the viewing point to see Gaudi's tomb. There is no time limit after the tour so we were able to go back and look at everything again with all that we'd learnt in mind.

My only slight qualm with this visit was that the booking information stated that no sandals were allowed in the Sagrada Familia and so we took extra shoes with us - this turned out to be unnecessary. It seems only flip-flops and perhaps very flimsy sandals aren't allowed. We also found we didn't need to cover our shoulders inside as stated in the booking details, but this was a minor detraction from a great excursion.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this fascinating tour.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience on this tour. I 100% recommend booking a guided tour - you'll learn so much more than meets the eye in this absolutely incredible building.

You are given earphones to hear the guide better (it's a lot of hustle and bustle inside, so it's worth it).

The Sagrada Familia is an amazing place and we were so glad to see the inside and to have a guide to point out things that we would have missed if we had done it all on our own. Ramon, our guide, was very informative and very enthusiastic. We learnt about the history of the building, what it was made from, Gaudi's influences and what he was trying to achieve. Fascinating. We were told that if we hadn't taken the tour the queue to get in was over 4 hours - so definitely worth the money just to skip the queue. On the day we took the tour, there was no availability to book on the day even in November so you need to book this in advance.

The tour guide I had for a monolingual English only tour had very broken English with terrible pronunciation. She used incorrect words constantly to try and explain something and it was really a chore to try to understand her. It's OK in a bar or resteraunt but when giving a tour on something so intricate and in depth you really need to talk better English. Me and my wife took our headphones off after 30 minutes because it was impossible to actually understand her. Very disappointing for the cost. Unreal as the official tour is like 20 euros for entry is like 10 euros so we paid 70 euros to basically have a woman speak in a very strong Spanish accent and terrible articulation.

Dear harisonp382, Thank you for taking the time to share this review, I am sorry to learn you could not enjoy our tour entirely, in part due to our guide´s accent. However, it is necessary to take into account our guides are officially accredited by the local government, and tested regularly in their language skills. Hope you had a nice stay in Barcelona, Best regards

It was not helped by the rain, but it was certainly not feel fast track. To justify the additional cost I think it needs to be slicker and actually faster than the people waiting in the line…
Tour guide was helpful and friendly. Personally I’d opt for mono-lingual if I did it again.

Dear YorkieMummy, Thank you for sharing your experience, It saddens me learning our Sagrada Familia tour was not entirely satisfactory. Please note, to enter Sagrada Familia we have to use the special entrance for groups. At this entrance the Basilica Staff must verify all the tickets and groups attendants, This process can not be skipped or rushed. Thank you for your kind comments on our guide, Best regards

Gaudi was amazing and his vision for this cathedral is mind-boggling. Definitely do a guided tour. You most likely must book tickets at least several days in advance. The lighting inside is very much affected by the amount of daylight and also whay time of day. So if you can look at the forecast .. pick the sunniest day and I would recommend either a morning or afternoon tour time.. right at noon I am sure is nice, but the sun being either fully on the east side or fully on the west side makes for quite the light show. The guide did a great job. For those Christians sensitive to breaking the 2nd commandment, this cathedral is one of the easiest to avoid violations (on the inside) the whole outside is a violation, but that is standard catholicism. Nonetheless, this was a beautiful experience. Gaudi's plan to make the supports look like trees was genius.

I wouldn’t take this tour again. The tour guide was ok but overall his job was to basically shuttle people through the chaos of security and massive amounts of people and you had to listen to him through ear buds because there were so many people around. Probably the worst tour I’ve ever paid for, not the fault of the guide, but the whole set up. If you’re set on seeing the inside, I’d just pay the entry fee or find a more specialized small tour that focuses on what you want to learn about.
