    What to Expect
On the date specified at booking, make your own way to the Columbus Monument, located on Passeig de Colon near Las Ramblas: the 54-meter (179-foot) column, topped by the golden figure of Columbus pointing out to sea, is instantly recognizable.

At the landmark, present your voucher to a cashier and step inside an elevator destined for the observation deck, located beneath the pointing finger of legendary explorer, Christopher Columbus.

Drink in 360-degree views of the Gothic Quarter, home to Santa Maria del Pi Basillica, and the Parc de Montjuic, where the Olympic Ring resides. See, too, Barceloneta Beach, Port Vella, and La Rambla, lined with Gaudi masterpieces and Spanish cafes.

Then, if you’ve upgraded to include a wine tasting experience, head to the Espai de Vins Mirador de Colom and select a wine made in one of four regions: Alella, Catalunya, Penedès and Pla de Bages. You’ll also receive a sweet or savory tapa taster to accompany your wine.

Leave the monument at a time convenient to you.

We actually did not go on an organized tour to see this nice monument. Rather, we were on a self-guided tour that took us down (North to South) La Rambla where in we ended at the port and thus the monument of Columbus. The Columbus Monument is a 197 foot monument to

We went in this tout on our first night in Barcelona. If you are taking a cruise ship, it is very close, within walking distance across the bridge, from the cruise port terminal. It was interesting to see the whole city from above. Inside there are panoramic photos with

We started our day early in the morning with sightseeing and walking La Rambla all day with a planned food tour that evening. We scheduled this as a rest stop before our food tour and it was the perfect way to take a breather. I'm so glad I followed John B's advice and upgraded

The monument was quite popular during the festival of festivals called Merce. The elevator takes one 172 feet up in a matter of seconds, and offers 360 degree views. The wine offer for a mere €2 extra is amazing. Total price with wine €8 (seniors €6) . I have paid €10 for just
