Itinerary
Choose a start time that fits your schedule, and then meet your guide outside the entrance to the Vatican Museums. Skip waiting in the often-long lines for tickets and pay your guide directly for admission (not included in tour price).

Step inside and begin your tour. Your guide will narrate an orientation and give in-depth commentary on the highlights of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel as you walk.

Explore Raphael’s Rooms, and hear stories behind works such as the School of Athens, a piece that features images of Michelangelo and Raphael. Pass through halls such as the Gallery of the Masks and Gallery of the Maps. Then, make your way into the Sistine Chapel. A sacred spot and the private papal chapel, the Sistine Chapel is also renowned for its Michelangelo frescoes—The Last Judgement and The Creation of Adam.

Continue to St. Peter’s Basilica, where you'll see Michelangelo’s famous La Pietà. Before wrapping up your tour outside the church, take a moment to rub the foot of the statue of St. Peter for luck.

Opt to upgrade your experience with a before-hours, small-group tour or an after-hours tour (St. Peter's Basilica not included), when the premises are closed to the public.

Cruised into Civitavecchia with MSC Cruise Lines. Rather then take the excursions offered with the ship we chose to go separately with a different company. There were six of us in total and one of the highlights which was half the day was The Vatican....More

Booked our tour months in advance via internet, and whilst the museums & Sistine chapel went smoothly with very professional guide, we then finished tour at 11.30 and left to our own to visit St Peters Basilica when it opened at 12.30. Morning was closed...More

Vatican tour

The Vatican was on our must visit list, and the guided tour was definitely the way forward. The only downside was the fact that the price quoted by the provider does not include the entrance fee, which was an extra €24 each. It is in...More

It cost us €48 for 2 people for the entrance fees. We met at the tour office but maybe it changes at different times of the year.
