Early Entry Vatican Museums: The Best of the Sistine Chapel
US$101.75
Overview
Stay a step ahead of the crowds with this early access tour of the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. With skip-the-line entry before the doors open to the public and access to reserved corridors, the tour has all you need to beat the Vatican crowds at two of its most sacred sites. There are even less people on the tour itself, with numbers capped at just 12 per group.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and group near the Ottaviano metro station in Rome, and head straight to the Sistine Chapel. Entering before the chapel officially opens its doors, you’ll see the sacred place as it was meant to be seen: in a state of tranquility, before the general public enter.

After admiring Michelangelo’s lauded frescoes that cover the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling and back wall, you’ll follow your guide along a reserved-access corridor that links the chapel to St. Peter’s Basilica.

Here, you’ll go straight to the basilica’s highlights, hearing the history behind Bernini’s bronze baldachin and Michelangelo’s La Pietà, which was carved from a single slab of Carrara marble. When you tour ends, you can stay inside St. Peter’s Basilica to explore more at your own pace.

Absolutely worth the money

Emma was an incredible guide. Her wealth of information about the Vatican, its exhibits, and the history is truly astounding. There wasn't a question that was asked that she wasn't able to answer. She gave us plenty of time to ask our questions, take breaks,...More

Great tour if you get Michela!

It was great getting into the Vatican early and Michela is a great guide. She left the facts interesting, and yet with adequate details. The early morning tour is great because the Vatican gets crazy crowded once the doors open to public. Definitely worth the...More

Nicolas is clearly at the top of his class in delivering an amazing tour. He provided both religious knowledge of the Vatican and the Vatican Museum as well as the historical background and context. For us it meant we came away with a profound sense...More

Great Tour - Worth It

If we could give a 6 rating for Event and Guide, we would. Gigi brought the tour to life and we felt we got way more than we paid for because of his incredible guidance. The only downside- he made all our following tour guides...More

The best way to experience the Vatican

The Vatican is an insanely busy attraction - there was a 1-hour line outside at 7.45am for 9am public entrance, and apparently that was a quiet day. You can imagine my joy at zipping passed these people at 8am - we had a full 1-hour...More

4 hours and it flew by. Wear really comfortable shoes and bring two water bottles. Lots of very clean bathrooms, but you will need water with all the walking and stairs.

These are skip the line. There are other tours waiting also. You are with the guide when you enter the museum.

Yes. We saw the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basillica with the tour. We could have gone back to any of the places when the tour was done, but we didn’t feel the need because the tour was so thorough.
