    Dont miss out!
Asia and Jamila were fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. They made the experience fun and relaxed while still educating and informing us on the proper techniques and processes. 10/10 you have to try it!

    Be a gladiator ….
Sara was an awesome guide - super knowledgeable and funny ( and very patient this morning - IYKYK!) bought Ancient Rome to life and the life in the coliseum and forum. We really enjoyed - complimented the other tours we have done in Rome so well. Highly recommend the tour - and especially Sara.

Great way to see the Colosseum! Our guide gave us the quick facts, answered any and all questions and made it fun! Then we enjoyed the extra time on your own.

    Fabulous!!
This was the BEST tour!!! We got a bit of everything; architectural history, art history, lore and legends, contemporary info, and much much more. Marco was beyond the best tour guide. He was personable, kind, knowledgable, and so engaging. Of all of the tours we have taken this was undoubtedly the best one. Highly recommend if you are short on time in Rome and want to see it all.

    Fantastic tour!
Such an amazing experience visiting the Colosseum and Arena Floor. Our guide, Julia, was extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining. Plus she did a great job of pointing out amazing pictures for us to take while keeping us in the shade as best she could! Highly recommend!

    Informative & interesting
Our tour guide Illaria was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The tour was well-paced and she did a great job of balancing the actual tour/informational portions with time to stop and take pictures and explore on our own. Despite having to spend some time in line to enter the Colosseum and Forum, our guide used the time extremely well and we got a good sense of all of the locations included without feeling rushed.

    Absolutely wonderful trip!
The entire trip was amazing!!! Pompeii was much larger and very interesting. The Amalfi Coast is breathtaking and Positano was awesome! Our driver stopped in one of the cities that had a wonderful view and allowed us time to get out and take pictures.

    A lot of walking!
The first part of the tour at the colosseum was amazing, our tour guide was very knowledgeable. But I have to be honest, after that I started to zone out, it was hot, we walked a lot to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. In total we walked almost 9 kilometers which was too much for this senior. I honestly didn’t think that there would be that much walking involved, with A LOT OF STAIRS! Personally, I would have stopped after the colosseum tour.

    Perfect Vatican tour
There is simply no better way to see the Vatican than this. We booked the “Pristine Sistine” tour last year on Walks of Italy, but the company has since changed to City Experiences or maybe even Devour tours. Strange. But our tour guide, Alexandra, was truly fabulous, so kind and passionate. And smart. She somehow condensed the highlights of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica into three memorable hours. What set her apart is the way she focused on what was truly important and interesting, which you have to do in such an immense place. We arrived as the doors opened so crowds were noticeably smaller at the start. My wife and I both consider this one of the best tours we’ve experienced. #ExperienceIt

    A MUST!!!!!!!
When in Rome you must absolutely do this tour!!!! Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Wear comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking but it’s a very good pace and lots of stops along to way to explain the many attractions. What to say about Rosella our guide!! She was simply the BEST, very informative, always with a great big smile, took the time to answer our many questions, and knows her history of Rome to perfection!! There was a bit of an incident at the end of the tour with a certain couple I will call “The Kirby’s “ ( not their real names) First off they arrived late and missed half the tour, constantly interrupted Rosella when she was trying to explain. During the tour we did have some alone time, lunch break, bathroom breaks… we split up for a few minutes, and then meet up again, WELL, who were we always waiting for?? You guessed it The Kirby’s 🤬 poor Rosella having to put up with them. This tour is definitely worth the price, book it , you will not regret it

    Great day tour in Rome!
Excellent day tour with Flavia! We had a nice small tour group size and she did an excellent job of finding shady spots to share lots of great information with us. The lunch break was perfect and it was very nice to go into the Colosseum and the Vatican as a group (very straightforward and not too long of a wait). I was only in Rome for two days, so it was perfect to see lots of things in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent & informative tour is more than just the Colosseum!
The tour, done by “The Tour Guy” group and with Eleanora as our tour guide, was incredible. Eleanora was very knowledgeable, funny, and overall did an excellent job, especially when discussing the gladiators! We enjoyed seeing the Colosseum, Palatine hill, and the Forum with her commentary. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat! :)

    Great tour!!!
The tour was fantastic. Our guide, Flavia, was so incredibly knowledgeable she made the trip. It was so much better than visiting on our own. Had 2 teenagers and even they were entertained.

In February, I booked two tours for July 2020. However, when my airline cancelled flights to Italy in late May, I requested refunds for both tours. The stated written policy on my confirmation is that they will grant a full refund if cancelled 72 hours prior to departure. However, after repeated email exchanges, I am being told the same as everyone else. They will not give me a refund as they promised in writing and will give me vouchers for the future instead. They seem to be pulling a switch and bait on their customers and engaging in unethical business practices. I noticed that they referred to "Force Majeure" as an excuse to rip off its customers who did business with them in good faith. I would never trust this company and hope that they not be allowed to continue ripping off customers.

I plan to dispute the charges with the credit card company.

I also noticed that they are telling people on this site to re-contact the "management team." Has anyone done this and what was the result?

We had a wonderful tour with Amber (not sure I spelled that right!) who made getting up at the Crack of dawn worth it. We were lucky to be there on a day when the basilica was open so got to see all of the highlights of the Vatican City. I don't typically enjoy large tour groups, but the size of 15 was not bad and she handled it well. Her commentary was entertaining and very informative. I would recommend this tour if you're wanting to see the chapel and galleries before all the crowds show up.

Maria our guide was great very knowledgeable and welcoming. The one tip I would suggest to anyone is download a audio tour of the Sistine chapel, we noticed it too late to download one but rick Steve’s has a free one we listened to after which was good! Nothing against our guide as she isn’t allowed to speak when inside. But over all getting in early is totally worth it

Hi 844krisk, Thank you for you kind review of our Pristine Sistine Express tour. You are absolutely correct, guides are not allowed to speak in the Sistine Chapel, as it is a solemn place of worship, but we think this idea is an excellent one! We shall certainly be taking note of it for development, as it is something we are already considering for the future. We hope to see you again on your next adventure abroad. The Walks Team

Add us to the list this disreputable company tried to rip off. Cancelled our tours when Covid19 hit back in April. After months of back and forth delays and offers for credits only, I was left with no other option than to dispute my credit card charges (I did get the credit back on my card even though it had been over 90 days). I fear this is the only way anyone will get their money back. It's a waste of time and emotion trying to deal directly with Walks of Italy. They are trying to change their cancellation policy after the fact and that's just underhanded. Recent good reviews are from trips last year, which I bet they solicited to try and improve their ratings. Every other company I booked with for our 3 week trip refunded with no delays. Avoid this company - their cancelation policy is a joke.

I cannot say enough great things about our guide Niccolo. He was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, and was able to share facts about all of the art we saw at the Vatican in an accessible, engaging and often humorous way, never overwhelming with too much information and also allowing enough time to appreciate the pieces we were looking at.

To keep me interested in something for 4 hours straight is no mean feat and Niccolo managed to do this to perfection. It was also incredible to see the Sistine Chapel ahead of the crowds and to get to see it in quiet contemplation with just a handful of other people is surely a memory that I will treasure forever. Well done TakeWalks & Niccolo!

This was a great tour. We started with a lovely breakfast in a courtyard inside the Vatican, which was such a peaceful way to begin. We then received an informative tour, including spending time in the Sistine Chapel when very few others were there.

Absolutely the worst company to deal with . We had a tour of the Vatican and the Sistene chapel scheduled and they cancelled it with no notification…. Left high and dry on our last in Rome… tried calling the phone numbers and of course no one answered. I wouldn’t book with this company ever again … customer service is horrible and follow through on paid tours is even worse 😡😡😡😡

Dear Z2391KScynthiac, I am terribly sorry to hear that your tour was canceled. If your tour was canceled, we attempt to reach out to all affected clients and if this did not happen, I am truly sorry. In spite of travel being back in full force across our destinations, we still are having COVID-related challenges, such as sick guides or altered opening hours. The majority of the tours we've canceled this season are for one of those reasons. It is why we urge all of our guests to travel with travel insurance. We are working our very best to provide top service and tours, and of course, if we're ever unable to do that offer a full refund to our guests. If you would kindly reach out to me at feedback@walks.org, I can look into your case. Best, Amanda

Booked tickets two months in advance. Never received tickets. Could not reach anyone to talk to. Only option is to work through online customer service. Tried to get tickets this way for 3 days and was told repeatedly they needed more time to solve issue. Finally cancelled. Recommend using someplace else

Booking online was so easy, and no problems checking in with Angela, at an early hour. She did a fabulous job, explained frequently the plan, with visual aids to make it clear. Thank you for the lovely breakfast! Angela delighted us with her charming and bubbly personality and her enthusiasm. She was candid but also respectful of our Catholic faith. She spoke quickly but crammed a lot of information into our short time together! Also, I appreciated the frequent toilet options! We will definitely book with you again!
