Mount Etna Half-Day Tour

Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Get close and personal with Sicily’s most famous volcano on this six-hour, small group tour. Set off from Taormina — hotel pickups and drop-offs in the vicinity are included upon request — and arrive at Mount Etna, where you’ll spend the day walking through craters, exploring a lava cave, and learning about the volcano’s past eruptions at max. 2000 meters of altitude. Afterwards, travel to a local chalet where you will be provided with a snack, complemented by wine, cake and an almond wine taster for dessert.
  • Great-value Mount Etna tour with transportation, guide, drinks, and snacks
  • Visit lava fields and underground lava caves
  • Small-group tour ensures you get personal attention from your guide
  • Opt for hotel pickup and drop-off
What to Expect
Begin your tour with an optional hotel morning pickup in Taormina. Meet your guide and small tour group and get on the road for the roughly 75-minute journey to Mt. Etna.

Stop at the foot of the volcano and take a short hike across lava fields. Along the way, your guide tells you about Etna’s geological features and history.

Afterward, don a helmet and grab a flashlight to head underground into a lava cave, which you also explore with your guide. The last stop is a nearby chalet, where you lunch on a Sicilian sandwich, local wine, cake, and almond wine. Relax on the journey back to Taormina and finish the tour with a drop-off at your hotel.

I would ring the office and speak to them directly. Very good English speaking if your Italian not too good. There were young couples on some of the tours so I don't see it being a problem. Good luck - brilliant tours.
