Overview
Known as the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence is packed with monuments, art, and architecture. Find the city’s highlights on a walking tour, and get the background info on the city and its sights from a local guide. With photo stops aplenty, the experience offers the perfect way for first-time visitors to discover Florence. Even better: Numbers are capped at 15 for a small-group experience.
What to Expect
With your small group and guide, you’ll start your Florence tour with a visit to the Basilica of Santa Croce. Hear how the Franciscan church is the resting place of Michelangelo and Machiavelli, and admire its architecture with your guide.

Pass through Piazza dei Peruzzi, home of the medieval Bargello Palace, and browse the stalls of Mercato del Porcellino, Florence’s bustling central market. Strike a pose for photos on the Ponte Vecchio, and hear the history behind the city’s iconic bridge.

You’ll continue through Piazza della Signoria, home to the Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery, and then stand before Florence Duomo with its beautiful terracotta-colored dome. As you admire the duomo, you’ll learn about the piazza’s other significant monuments, including Giotto’s Bell Tower and Florence Baptistery.

Your tour then ends at the Church of San Lorenzo.

Excellent introduction to the history and culture of Florence

This was an excellent way to orient ourselves to the city. We were fortunate enough to have just three persons in our group which meant that we could engage in an ongoing conversation with our guide for the better part of three hours!
