Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance. Artists as Michelangelo, Botticelli and Da Vinci lived and worked here and influenced the city with their art. All this happened about 500 years ago. But what’s going on nowadays in the city? Are there no artists anymore?
Actually, if you walk through the streets of Florence with your eyes open, you’ll find a lot of artwork placed on walls, street signs and other objects. This is called “Street Art”. This artwork is made by artists as Clet, Blub,Hopnn and ExitEnter. They’re using the streets to communicate with the people passing by.
During this tour you’ll discover Florence from a different perspective. We’ll follow street artworks, explore the historical part of the city and cross the bridge.
Especially the “other side” of the river, called “Oltrarno”, is full of amazing squares, artisan shops, artist workshops, bars and cafes. You can find locals hanging out, enjoy coffee in Santo Spirito, eat paninos (sandwiches), and in the evenings (especially in the summer) you’ll find it full of people making music and enjoying drinks.
Finally, we’ll pass by some artist workshops. If we are lucky, we can see them working on their next project.
