Overview
Stray from the beaten path on an alternative Amsterdam walking tour, a great choice for travelers who have already ticked off more conventional city attractions. By visiting lesser-known neighborhoods home to street art and coffee shops, you’ll beat large tourist crowds and get an inside glimpse into Amsterdam’s political and cultural scene. Plus, your guide provides enough local recommendations to last your entire vacation.
What to Expect

Your alternative walking tour begins in central Amsterdam, where you’ll greet your guide and embark on a journey that strays from the traditional tourist trail. Learn about local counterculture during the 1960s and pass houseboats and squats that resulted from the postwar housing crisis.

Throughout the unbiased tour, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss hot Amsterdam topics, such as gentrification and the Coalition Project, which aims to reform the Red Light District. Your tour concludes at your original departure point in central Amsterdam.

Just been on an amazing informative tour of Amsterdam. Our guide was an American guy called Alex who was brilliant , full of great little bits of information. We were very happy we did the tour.

Book into the free tour.Pay no money in advance. Pay the guide whatever you think at the end. Pay up front for the other tour. Possibly someone other than the guide gets a cut.
