The tour of the red light district we had booked in German. Without further expectations we were in the end a very small group of 4 tourists with guide. The adaptation of the meeting place was communicated in advance via WhatsApp, so we could find each other without any problems. Communication was very good.
The tour was very informative and fun. The guide has responded to many questions on our part and was able to shine with anecdotes and very entertaining.
Important to know is that it really is a two-hour tour on foot. This should be taken into account when booking this guided tour with older people.
If necessary, a short break with seats in between would certainly be suitable.
I would recommend the tour and book again at any time. You stroll through the well-known streets but also through small alleys, which are significant and you would not visit them. A tour that is interesting in terms of content and society.

I really enjoyed this tour. It is a great way to get introduced to the Red Light District. David, our guide, was funny, charming, and had loads of great info. He told us about the history and what's in store for the future. He had us in stitches the whole time. It is a tour for adults and I would not recommend bringing children on this tour. We had a lot of fun and was able to see the district without being harassed. I would recommend this tour.

I had decided to join this tour because I was interested in the history behind the red light district & because I was traveling alone, I figured a tour would be a good way to explore the district. Our guide, Aaron, was great! He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Amsterdam and the processes & procedures involved in working in the district. Even though it was a rainy night, Aaron made sure we were all together and able to hear him at each stop.
I am really glad I got this experience and would recommend it to anyone who is curious to learn more about Amsterdam!

We booked our tour online as we wanted a guided tour and thought it would be fun. I was impressed that we received a message before meeting to advise that Jay was going to be a little late and also with a picture of where we were meeting.
Jay met us at the agreed location. We waited for some of the others and left. Jay was welcoming and very easy to get on with. The other members of our party were all lovely too and it was great to talk with them.
Jay led us around the city (in the pouring rain). we stopped from time to time to give us some local history and point out interesting places. Jay is really respectful of the local entertainment area and its workers whilst being very informative about the city, coffee shops and other etiquettes that you may wish to know about 😉
I would highly recommend Jay and this tour.

We loved our guided tour with Sander. His delivery was fast-paced, informative, and eloquent, which we appreciated after experiencing a slower-paced tour earlier in our trip. Even though this was our second walking tour in Amsterdam, we still learned a lot of new information. Unlike other tours, this one actually takes you inside the Red Light District, although the guide doesn’t provide commentary in that area due to regulations. While you can visit the Red Light District on your own, experiencing it with the context provided by the tour made it much more insightful.

Aaron was a really fantastic tour guide. Super knowledgeable, very engaging, and even managed to turn the somewhat challenging topic of a "red light district" into sanitized bits of historical information for the teen audience I had in tow. Plus it was great to learn about the broader history of Amsterdam and the context within which it arose. Two very big thumbs up!

David is a great, knowledgeable guide and comfortable in the area. He knew people in the Red Light District and they knew him. He showed us a place where they have live sex shows (you have to pay a couple of Euros to see it). We also stopped for beer. The 8 PM tour would have seen more of the workers in the windows. We only saw a few. It was still early for them.

Very interesting tour starting with a history of the origins of the district and showing along the route how the district changed over the last few decades. Before entering the area with the windows, we also got an introduction about the rules and safety measures in place.
This tour allowed for quite a unique perspective into the city and well worth the time.

I see our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Amsterdam, however, I did not feel like it was worth the money. There was very little history and information about Chinatown and the Red Light District. And I felt like we had to ask the questions to prompt communication.

Aarre was a great guide! Funny, informative, answered any and all of our questions, and was very respectful to the culture, history, and importance of this part of the city. Highly recommend! Storytelling at its finest.
A downpour came out of nowhere and he had a great hideaway spot to keep us all dry until it passed. He gave recommendations for additional places and restaurants to check out. 👍🏼👍🏼
