I happened on this canal tour while waiting outside the Anne Frank House. The hour tour was great as it was a smaller group and I could ask questions of our hostesses Lotte and Salerie. They were both great and made the tour a lot...More
We had a nice and amusing tour. Our charming hosts Romy and Werner tookgood care of us and offered a lot of interesting information. The time flew quickly. We saw Amsterdam from a different angle. Would love to do it again next time we´re in...More
We decided to hop on one of the tour boats and thought that these ones looked very different to the bigger barge style tours and I'm so glad we did.
The tour boats are much smaller with a more personal touch, they have comfy seating...More

This is was my experience: from walking out the plane to passport control to exit to arrival Hall was under 30 min, the easiest airport in Europe. You get a ticket to Centraal and the trains are every 10 minutes. The train ride itself took about 19 minutes into Centraal. And then it’s another 10 minutes to Anne Frank’s house where several boat tours are parked.
The only thing is I would advise pre booking your tour so you know what time it starts and how long. And guaranteed a seat.
The reverse experience at the airport takes slightly longer as the security lines are longer.
Either way you should definitely go into town and do something!
