Half-day TourMost Popular
This is our basic program. The Canyoning Half-day will offer you an intensive morning with great fun. On our way back we may pass in some local hot springs.
Full-day Tour
The full-day tour adds more moments in the local river. You will explore extra waterfalls and rappel more. Includes a light lunch and on our way back we may pass in some local hot springs.
A driving tour is one way to admire the Azores’ natural landscape, but for real insight, physically explore the scenery with a canyoning tour of the region’s rocks, waterfalls, and forest. Abseil, leap, and swim your way around a São Miguel national park, then afterward treat your body to a natural bath. Enjoy an intimate experience of nature while benefiting from the instruction of a professional guide.
What to Expect

Begin your day with pickup from your Ponta Delgada hotel, having remembered to pack your swimsuit and towel. Board your transport and admire the scenery outside as you head to your canyoning departure point at either Parque dos Caldeirões or Salto do Cabrito.

On arrival to the park, receive a safety briefing before pulling on your provided wetsuit and following your guide along a warm up route. Submerge yourself in a natural pool, then continue on a trail that involves a range of canyoning techniques, including jumping, abseiling, scrambling, and swimming, as well as a close look at the local flora and fauna.

Eventually, return to your initial starting point, and replenish with a snack. Next, travel to a natural hot spring to reward your body with a much needed soak. At the end of your excursion, re-board your vehicle and relax as you’re driven back to your hotel.

I did canyoning for the first time, so I was a bit excited... But the guides were super professional and funny and made it a great experience I will never forget! I would definitely recommend it!

Great family fun

Fun for everyone in the family. The guides are very friendly, helpful and make the experience unforgettable. And we got pictures as a bonus. Highly recommended.

Would totally do this again!

Except that I wish there had been even MORE repelling! I think there is another excursion for that, but this one included repelling, jumping off cliffs/waterfalls and "sliding" down rocks. The scenery was spectacular, the guides were fun, and it was nice to know that...More

Fun fun fun

This was so exciting, only regret is we took only half a day, big mistake. The guides are so fun, friendly, motivating, energetic and always having focus on safety and the customer, really nice.

Amazing experience

This tour was a highlight of our trip. The guides were super attentive to everyone in the group. It was our first time canyoning, and we felt very comfortable repelling, jumping, and sliding down the river. Don’t miss this activity if you want to immerse...More

This is definitely not an excursion for a 9 month old. It is fairly physically demanding and there are plenty of spots where you simply will not be able to carry your infant and jump/climb down.

Difficult to judge, but you build it up from small jumps to the bigger. If you don't like jumping there is often a cheat way, but the jump is the fun of it. One in our group cheated the last jump.

There were no life jackets. But the wetsuit is very buoyant, which helps a lot. Also the deepest water was probably 8-9 feet. If you can swim 3 yards, you will be fine. The tour was a highlight of our trip.
