Selection tour to Sintra & Cascais conducted by Ricardo Ricky was excellent ! He is very detailed & literally didn’t want us to miss anything in the trip! He is a sophisticated person & I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for a tour guide to guide you in Sintra! He has definitely enlightened all the waiting time we spent in the Palace!

The tour was terrific. I got to see a part of Portugal I had no idea existed. Worth taking this tour. Rita was so friendly and knowledgeable! She takes great pictures too. Which you probably didn't think mattered, lol but when traveling alone comes in handy.

We had an excellent tour guide, Tania, who was very knowledgeable, super friendly, and very personable. She had answers to all our questions about history and culture, plus truly cared that we were happy and having a wonderful experience. Tania also shared great recommendations for our free time activities, was a superb, safe driver on narrow roads, and had a deep love of Portugal and interest and respect for the other nationalities in the small group tour. She made the tour extra special! Highly recommend this tour and Tania!

Absolutely lovely day. Tania our driver and guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable pointing out all the various places we passed and stopped at. Short stop in Sintra where she gave us some history of the palaces etc and gave us time to wander and have coffee. Cascais was lovely and we stopped there long enough to have a great lunch in a vegetarian restaurant Tania recommend. The tour of the Sintra palace in the afternoon was lovely but does involve a very steep hill.
Tania even went the extra mile by dropping us all off at various places so that some were in time for their evening trip and dropped us in the old town so we could explore more of Lisbon. Would highly recommend.

Good to get to Sinatra early but disappointed we could not go into either palace. The queues for the Peña palace in the afternoon were very long so we did not wait. It was nice to see the sea side towns. The guide was very nice and friendly and showed us the best places to eat.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sad and disappointed about the line at the Pena Palace (to visit the rooms). Portugal and Europe were under a heat wave and because Pena Place is in a forest area, it was closed for a week due to a fire alert. This means that when it opened impacted the average queue time to visit some parts of the Palace. The Pena Palace is the most visited monument in Portugal. Like always, on this day we were able to enjoy the outside of the palace. It's much more unforgettable than the inside (the colors, the architecture, etc.). We were able to see the breathtaking views, explore the romantic gardens, visit the terraces, appreciate the wall walk, had a look at the chapel and understand the old monastery, etc. We only missed the rooms, a 15 min. experience, since this is a small Palace. We always wait in line, but everybody from your group said that it was okay to escape this, and that’s why we didn't visit this side of the Palace. But now we understand that we didn’t correctly interpret your will. We apologize for that.

This was a wonderful tour. Peña Palace was a site to see with its spectacular views and rich history. The tour to Sintra is also a must see! My favorite stop on the tour was to the small beach town of Cascais. There you will find a lot of shops, restaurants, and of course the beach. Overall, my family and I had a really great experience.

Maria picked us up on time (there were six in our van, and I was traveling solo). We starred in Sintra and ended in Cascais (“Cash cash”, Maria told us the locals call it because it costs so much to live there). Both town are lovely but Sintra is really special in my opinion. Very small and tucked into lush hillsides, with wonderfully picturesque vistas when you walk up into the hills. Unfortunately the Pena Castle was shut to tourists by gov’t order (high fire hazard at the moment) so Maria had gotten in touch prior to the tour to make sure we still wanted to participate. I didn’t really care because I just wanted to see the town more than anything (I hate moving through tourist sites, feeling like cattle, anyhow), but we got to see the other castle that’s right in the town. She gave us time to wander a bit so one of the other gals on the tour and I found a really special place to lunch, with a view of the town. If you can, I recommend walking up the hill away from the crowd.
She took us to a lookout — furthest West Point of the continent — and we spent a short time there looking at the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Then to Cascais, a typical upscale European beach town. We were only there for an hour so I had to decide between walking around the town or having a dip in one of the two small but nice-looking beaches. I decided to walk around, which was enjoyable but not terribly unique. I think I’d have preferred more time getting closeup with some of the very special architecture of the small palaces/mansions in the area, but there’s only so much you can do in a day. The entire outing lasted 8 hours, and Maria gave tidbits of historical information about what we were seeing as we were driving (sit at the front of the van if you want yo be able to hear…I was fortunate to have the front passenger seat), and let us to do our own thing at the various drop off points. I recommend.

Manuel did a great job guiding us around. His passion for Portuguese history was inspiring and we learned much about the culture and how the country works.

He took us to Sintra, the most Western point of Europe and Cascais. We felt very comfortably in the car. Also important he drives very safely.

Unfortunately due to a fire alert in the afternoon on monday the Sintra Palace was suddenly closed and the area was evacuated. Manuel and the tour office tried to find an alternative for us to visit but everything in the area was closed by the police.

For our own safety we traveled back with Manuel to Lisbon. Although we were 3/4 into the complete tour, the organisation suggested to get our tickets refunded and the next day we got our money back.

If we ever return to Lisbon to visit Sintra again we will surely be using this organisation again. Props to the guide and keeping us safe. They did a perfect job considering the circumstances.

An absolute must for anyone visiting Lisbon! This day trip was the highlight of our Lisbon stay - the beautiful sights, scenery, informative and friendly guide, all made for a perfect day. We were a small group of 7, travelling in a very comfortable 9-seater air con van (important given it was a 39 degree day!). There was only about 30 mins of driving between each stop, and we had plenty of time to explore on our own. Could not recommend highly enough!
