Guimarães and Braga Small Group Tour with Lunch from Porto
From US$94.50

Both Braga and Guimarães boast many historical landmarks, but ticking them all off in a day can be difficult. Travel with ease to both locations in air-conditioned vehicle from Porto, avoiding the hassle of public transport, and visit notable sites including the Dukes of Braganza Palace, the Sé de Braga and the Bom Jesus do Monte. Benefit from a professional guide’s insights and enjoy personalized attention with a small-group tour.

What to Expect

Begin your tour with pickup from your Porto accommodation by air-conditioned minivan. Travel to UNESCO-listed Guimarães and visit its landmarks, including its medieval castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, before wandering into the historic central square, Largo da Oliveira, for a local lunch.

When relaxed and replenished, travel by minivan to the culture-steeped Braga. Tour the Sé de Braga, the city’s 11th-century cathedral, before heading into the hills to visit the sacred Bom Jesus do Monte. Ascend its stairway, following the popular pilgrimage route, before relaxing back on board the minivan as you return to Porto, with hotel drop-off included.

Good tour marred by French tour guide

Took this tour on Friday, March 23rd. Tour guide, a Parisian, paid far too much attention to the French-speaking couple. It was cold, windy, and rainy. Much, too much walking. Sights, through the rain, were spectacular. Best part was seeing a 700-year old mummy. Cool!...More

Lovely change to be picked up from where I was staying rather than walk to a central meeting point. Violet, the tour host, was friendly and informative and tried to answer all our questions. Being a small group of 4 made the day very personal...More
