I did this trip from Athens during my week in Greece and it was terrific. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job balancing teaching us with letting us explore. The Mycenaean ruins are remarkable and the theatre setup at Epidaurus is stunning. Also includes a stop in Nafplio, which is an absolute gem. I would love to spend more time there and very well might if/when I come back.

I really liked the lunch that was included. Have seen a couple other reviewers who weren't big fans, but that was not my experience; it was a really nice four-course meal.

Overall, this was a great day and I would highly recommend!

Absolutely worth the travel time from Athens. The guide was knowledgeable and the sites were very interesting. Definitely recommend this. (Note—skip the pre-paid lunch and request a drop off at Napflio to have lunch at a seaside cafe.)

The trip was very informative and well organized, and was a great way to see these amazing sites. We stopped at the Corinth Canal first and then on to Mycenae and Epidaurus. We enjoyed the coffee shop along the way for a snack (baklava here was the best we had all week!) and bathroom break, but the lunch stop was just ok. We tend to go for a walk and find our own lighter lunch when possible, but this stop was at a hotel, and there was no other option. We did three different Chat tours during our trip to Greece, and here is one of the minor negatives—we were picked up at a hotel in Syntagma Square near the hotel where we were staying, but then spent 30-60 more minutes picking up other tourists, only to end right back where we started in Syntagma Square. I’m sure it is complicated to schedule everything, but it was frustrating to spend so much time picking up only to end back where we started before getting on the road. On the drop off in the evening, though, everyone staying in Syntagma Square got off in one spot in the square—wish the morning could be that way to spend less time on the bus. It was worth it, though, as the trip was very interesting. My family really enjoyed the entire day, and would recommend it.

Would be good if the company sends a message (at least) with information about pick up and departure time info days before.
I tried to contact them by tripAdvaisor but I get no response, I had to go personally to the main hotel where tour starts the day before to get this info.
Besides that, overall tour was fine

The guide lady is very knowledgeable, telling us interesting stories about Greek history, geography, food and mythology. It’s a very pleasant experience. Short layover Corinth Canal and Nafplio was really nice.

It was an excellent tour, wonderful quiet sights, a knowledgable engaging guide, a pleasant bus and some very nice travelling companions.
The one big but in this is the awful lunch in a plasticy vile hotel, nowhere near anything beautiful.
It was also the only bad meal that I have ever had in Greece. Chatours should be ashamed of themselves as it just marred an otherwise wonderful day.

Take the tour and not the lunch

I am a guide and often stop for lunches in Greece and usually they are wonderful but this was truly tourism at its worst.

A lovely trip through ancient history brought to life by our knowledgeable tour guide, loads to see and try to remember. On the whole worth the log day.
My only complaint would be that on the way back there were ships in the canal showing how narrow it actually is and we were not given notice that it maybe worth a look, we would like to of taken a couple of pics . Apart from that great tour.

This was my favorite tour. I think a huge part was the guide. Joy was AMAZING. She was fun and very knowledgeable. She cared for all the guests and made sure everyone was comfortable and good. I chose to pay for my lunch which worked out just fine. The others got a course meal that seemed very bland whereas I got to pick a greek plate.

I truly great day trip out from Athens, with the most amazingly informative guide. A very comfortable coach (hotel pick ups included), and a route between sites that is itself stunning and worth the journey through the Peloponnese.

The journey to Mycenae was beautiful, including a stop to view the Corinth Canal and grab a coffee, and a great history lesson from our amazing guide, who I have unfortunately forgotten the name of. She was however the perfect guide companion to the sites, able to condense information from all the museum into a quick, manageable account of the site and history of Mycenae.

Here is my only gripe, and one which many reviews have also said. Lunch was in the middle of nowhere after a clearly sponsored stop off at a random arty shop. That stop off had nothing to do with the tour, so I can only guess that the tour company get a kick back from them for delivering them a bus load of punters twice a week. After reading reviews elsewhere I decided not to take the tour's lunch, and instead took a packed lunch and a book, finding a quiet place to eat and read in the middle-of-nowhere village we stopped at. Not that it was an ugly place, but it was so annoying to have spent/wasted an hour there, while afterwards we were given a whole 5 minutes in beautiful Nafplion. It was nothing more than a stop in the coach to take a picture, then all back onboard again. So many reviews have questioned this decision by the tour company, but again I can only assume that they get a kick back from choosing such a random lunch spot over the stunning town centre (no matter how much they protest that is to "ensure quality of the lunch".

Epidaurus was again an amazing site to explore, with another super informative tour of the on site museum, again by our amazing guide. The whole site is huge, but really what everyone is there to see, and for good reason, is the stunningly preserved and restored amphitheatre. It's acoustically pristine, and visually gorgeous. The rest of the site may only be visited at a run if you wanted to, before having to get back to the coach. The journey back to Athens itself along the coast is also majestic.

Although it seems that I'm talking more about the pointless art barn and lunch stop, that is because they are the only negatives to this tour, and I could not add more to the great reviews of the 2 ancient sites than what can already be found in other reviews. It's just a super shame that this cannot instead be truthfully advertised as a Mycenae-Nafplion-Epidaurus tour. A great opportunity missed there by choosing kick backs over a stunning, historical town for lunch.

Extremely well planned and organised tour. Our entire day was timed just right, if a little rushed at Mycenae as there is a lot to see and explore there, another 30mins would be perfect.
I'd reccomend you skip the included lunch and opt to go spend more time in the city of Nafplion! It's an incredibly beautiful city with plenty of options for lunch over looking the coast. You will get more time to look around and take photos this way.

Our guide Effie (sorry if I misspelled your name!) Was wonderful and very informative! Constantly providing history and local information as we drove as well as within the sites themselves so we understood what we were seeing and it's history.

Epidaurus was the highlight of the tour! An amazing place and everyone had fun testing the perfect acoustics.

I'd reccomend this tour to anyone who wants to see more of Greece than just Athens and is interested in the ancient sites and history of Greece.
