      Strongly recommend this experience
Anna was outstanding. Her knowledge and energy made the experience fantastic despite the heavy climb to the top of the volcano.

Good value boat option out of Fira Old Port
A 3-hour boat trip out of Fira Old Port that includes two optional activities, a hike to the volcano craters and a swim in the hot springs. Well organised and the tour guide Giorgiana was exceptional. Despite the official photograph this is not a sailing trip; the boat runs on engine the whole time.

      Must see
We took 2.5 hour cruise on the beautiful old wooden boat to see a volcano and hot springs. The views were incredible. The water was still cool in April but some people swam at hot springs anyway. Hiking to volcano was not easy at all but doable. We were able to see a volcano smoke and touch hot stones. The sea, the islands - everything was worth a trip. Must see.

Active, fun, informative, and super cool!!!!
The whole experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing. Check-in and boarding were simple. The cruise was smooth. The places were great with info along the way from the guide, Anna. Atop the volcano was great, and the views were amazing. Anna was very entertaining and informative. Must do if you're an active person who wants to learn about the history of the island. It's a good hike up the volcano site, so be prepared with good shoes and water. Also, the climb to the top of Theressia was another must do.

Nea Kameni visit with Family in April 2024
Half day cruise to Nea Kameni volcanic island from Santorini old port at Fira. Started at 1100 hrs and after 30 mins reached at the island to spend around 1.5 hours hiking upto the crater and come back to the pier. Following to it, another 15 mins cruise to hot springs, where swimmers could take a jump to the water and experience the natural phenomenon. The journey culminates back in Fira port after a 45 mins cruise back.

      Good tour
Cruise, guide and activities were very good and would recommend to other travellers. Just so people are aware, if the cable car is not operating then you have a 600 step walk down the mountain face to the port. If you have bad knees etc think again about doing it. Luckily I got a donkey back up the stairs as one of my knees is dodgy. Apart from that great day.

No refund after THEY cancelled the tour
We booked and paid for this tour on April 28, 2023. We arrived on Nov. 4, as instructed, at the time and meeting place, Santo Star Travel at the Old Port of Fira. The office was closed and remained closed. A passer-by informed us the tour had been cancelled. We have tried to contact Caldera's Boats several times using their web site and earlier emails we have from them. So far, we have had no response. We paid 50 euros by credit card, and they have not refunded the amount. You and your users should be aware of their lack of response and lack of a refund when they cancelled the tour. Roberta H

      Great trip
We had a really great trip to the volcano and hot springs. The boat stopped at the volcano first and then we had to walk 20 minutes to the top of the volcano which was well worth doing. It costs an extra 5 euros each to climb up and 2.50 euros for children. Our guide was really knowledgeable and told us how the islands were formed which was really interesting. The swim in the hotel springs was breath-taking. Even though it was October the water wasn't too cold. I would have liked a bit longer swimming. I would highly recommend this trip and would do it again.

Great trip. Guide was very helpful and informative. Only issues were a few passengers didn’t get back on boat in time and we were delayed a little.

      Pleasant visit
It was a lovely experience with good restaurants to eat. The guide was very friendly and the weather was beautiful. Highly recommend this tour if you wish to explore. The volcano is a bit of long walk so keep your walking shoes handy. The swim in the hot springs is absolutely breathtaking

      Bad experience
I did not make it to the trip as I could not find the meet-up point after walking in circles in Santorini, I have asked for a refund and still have not received it to date—bad service.

Great to know how Santorini island was formed
Really great volcano tour, our guide Anna was brilliant and very knowledgeable. Hearing about how the islands were formed was fascinating and definitely added another layer to our trip.

The experience was amazing, couldn't recommend enough! Anna, our tour guide, provided us with interesting facts about the history of Santorini. The views were absolutely incredible. As a solo traveller, I felt super safe with the team on board which is a plus! 10/10

What an amazing experience! I'm not a lover of boats because I get motion sickness but I had no issues with this tour! The Volcano walk (you have to pay extra for this) was incredible and well worth it. Anna was our guide on the Albatros and she was so knowledgeable and charismatic. The whole crew were fantastic and we enjoyed every second of it. It was myself, my husband and our 16 year old niece. Highly recommend. If you're able, we walked the stairway which was quite a trek but incredible views and experience.

Very well organised and very enjoyable trip. Starting in the old port of Santorini, the boat takes you first to a volcanic island to explore (about an hour and a half) the guide takes you through the history of the island and all the craters, one of which is active but dormant. From here you then leave to another small island very near where you can take a swim in the Hot (warm at best) springs. Finally you go to Therassia where there are some lovely harbour restaurants where you can have lunch. Word of warning. There are nearly 600 steps to get down to and up from the old port. There is a cable car but if there are cruised docking in the port on the day, and invariably there will be, the queue can be very long. Over an hour wait. The walk down took myself and my wife 20 mins, but 30 mins going back. We are both in our mid to late 50's but relatively fit. There are donkeys that can take you up and down but this didn't sit well with us.

Easy to find the pick up and drop off location. Tour guide Anna was very knowledgeable, kind and safety oriented. Good amount of time in each place - felt a little hurried leaving the thermal springs but otherwise a perfect day.

Highlight of our trip. Very good experience but tiring if you decide to do the whole hike up the volcano and swim at the hot springs.

Pro Tip: when you visit Therasia, walk up to the town for lunch rather than eating by the Pier.

Yannis was an amazing guide! He knows 6 languages and did the tour in English and French. Yannis was very knowledgeable about everything about the calderas of Santorini and the boat itself was absolutely gorgeous and something out of a pirate movie! The vibes and music was 100/10 when I come back I’d definitely book with them again.

    * Sept 2022 trip*The actual tour was pretty cool, walking up a dormant volcano ( wear good shoes), and hot springs, the boat cruise in general was very nice. The organization of it is not great- booking through viator- the morning bus never had our names so passed us by, wasting our whole morning. The buisness was diligent in making it right, upgraded us for free to a sunset cruise/dinner. They kept good attendance at the volcano. But at the hot springs there were two similar ships side by side, I got on the wrong boat by accident, jumped back in to swim to the right boat- and the ladder had been pulled up and they were about to leave. No attendance. As I was in the ocean yelling up for the ladder the team of men is just yelling back ' why are you down there'. The guide ULYSSES proceeded to yell at me asking why I would get on the other boat- as if I did it on purpose. He also yelled at my aunt who said I was also delayed because I swam a noodle out to a struggling tourist. He literally said ' you don't do that- you don't help people that is our job' . Meanwhile we had told his team. Anyway just be aware if you aren't on the boat at the right time they WILL LEAVE YOU BEHIND IN THE OCEAN- because there is no system or role call.

Brilliant day out - great communication and organisation from pick up to drop off.
We paid the extra to be picked up on the main road through Megalochori where we were staying to start the trip at the new port. It also meant we were first on so had our choice of seat.
Also fortunate as the cable car in Fira wasn't working today and my husband has mobility issues and wouldn't have made the steps. Bit of a delay whilst we waited for the poor folk to traipse diwn the hill on foot.
Booked online a couple of days before. Had an email confirmation of booking and pick up then a WhatsApp the day before.
Greeted by Yanis at the port and he did the English tour (French and Greek guides also onboard).
Stunning visits to Nea Kameni, Palea Kameni and Thirassia.
You didn't have to do either of the activities. My husband wasn't up to the volcano walk so stayed onboard.
I'd wondered/worried about when/where to change into swimgear as I didn't want to walk up the volcano in it, even under normal clothes. I did a quick 'behind a towel' change after the volcano visit whilst waiting to board. Actually, a fair few folk weren't swimming so there wasn't the mad scramble I'd feared.
    Clear instructions about timing.
Water temperature certainly very manageable (19°).
Lunch stop on Thirassia. We'd taken a picnic but there didn't seem to be much shore or space to have it plus the seafood looked tempting so we went to one of the two seafront restaurants currently open (only the café open up the hill in Manolas). Gorgeous spot.
Then back on board for dramatic views of the caldera and clifftop villages.
    Excellent day

We paid for the pick up / drop off. Nice bus and the boat was great. It was a low key easy day - great bargain for what we paid. Included volcano hike (need proper shoes - there are steep gravel roads) which was breathtakingly beautiful, swimming at the hot springs (small swim about 40-50 meters to the springs, water is extra salty- they give you noodles) , and a good 2 hours for lunch at one of the restaurants (we pay) at Thirasia. About 6 hours total minus the bus rides. Worth the price.
