- Climber132364220450 contributionsGreat tour once we had ticketsit was difficult to access actual tickets but we were close to a ticket office and they were very helpful, as was email assistanceWritten September 10, 2024
- Dennis F0 contributionsVery very bad. TerribleI ordered boat tour tickets. Paid $107 for 4 tickets. I never received the tickets and never told where to catch the boat. I want my money backWritten September 10, 2024
- VBT530 contributionsGood but not punctual. The canal tour is a good one in that it covers places not covered by bus tours. Best time is to take the first boat at 10; later on it could be warm and humid. Our boat came 15 minutes late although it was the first trip of the day - a disappointing experience.Written September 9, 2024
- 683richardw0 contributionsGreat tripExcellent cruse. Guide was knowledgeable and humerus. Got to see so much about Copenhagen and saw so many parts of the city that we would never have seenWritten September 9, 2024
- Zaga M0 contributionsA pleasant canal tourIt was a pleasant tour. The hostess/guide was cheerful and courteous. We would like to suggest that she speak more slowly as at times she was a little difficult to understand.Written September 8, 2024
- alisond63AB0 contributionsWorth it!Excellent way to introduce yourself to Copenhagen and get oriented. Guides are well-informed, and boat is comfortable (but open, so take a hat and sunscreen).Written September 8, 2024
- clairelg20150 contributionsMust do in CopenhagenSaw lots of Copenhagen which would have took hours to walk around! Good audio commentary which told lots of interesting facts about the sightsWritten September 7, 2024
- BXKeller0 contributionsGreat Canal Tour experience!!Excellent tour! Well narrated snd just the right length. Hit all of the key site and the narrative was both informative and entertaining!Written September 4, 2024
- H9530YAwilliamm0 contributionsawfulthe food hasn't change since last year management still don't care as long get money still cant microwave food well don't compare Wetherspoon's or MacDonalds least they can that microwave food right with half priceWritten September 3, 2024
- TrueOpinion540 contributionsSave money and walk around yourself. OverpricedOnly worth it if you only have a day. Copenhagen is very walkable and much better to see on foot on your own. Also customer service was very unhelpful and refused to refund us a duplicate overpayment.Written September 1, 2024
- Amy P0 contributionsFantastic canal your trip!Fantastic experience! We did this at the start of our Copenhagen trip and it was a great way to get to know the city and its history. We had Michael as our canal tour host whi was incredibly engaging and funny, as well as knowledgeable about all the sights and surroundings. I'd recommend arriving 30 minutes early so you can make sure you arrive at the right docking bay and get a good seat!Written September 1, 2024
- LongRider20110 contributionsTechnical difficultiesThis review is not of the canal tour itself, but the way our tour was abruptly cancelled so we couldn't go! We had eagerly anticipated this tour to cap a multi day visit, and arrived long before the departure to ensure good seats. Several boats at our dock and the next one loaded and left, their captains assuring us that our boat was coming. Long after the expected departure time the end our line suddenly moved towards another boat and got on, filling it completely. Only after this did staff tell us our boat had broken down, there were no more boats that day, and it was on us to stand in the (now very long line of angry yelling people) to rebook another day or request a refund. Not wanting to be in that scrum I called their customer service line but their option tree for service remained in Danish despite 'pressing 9 for English'. Problems happen and this company is stretched to the limit in boats and staff -- but the total failure to inform anyone of the issue and leave one hapless ticket agent to clean up the mess is not acceptable. Stromma has the technology to book your activity, take your money, and send you an electronic ticket in seconds...they could easily send a notice of the problem with alternatives that could all be done online. On the bright side, we ended up using the harbor bus to get a water perspective of Copenhagen which turned out great!Written August 29, 2024
- 673carolinec0 contributionsBus tour needs upgrade!!On a recent trip to Copenhagen i purchased tickets for hop on hop off bus- 3 routes in total and boat trip on canal included. Price was acceptable:red route was informative and tour was enjoyable. The canal tour was enjoyable and informative also, but it would have been nice to stop at certain piping’s on the canal tour and exited the boat if wanted.Green route was less informative and did not include the castle viewing, as included on the map!!!! Purple route included no information and took many short cuts with it seemed to act only as a collection service for travellers it had dropped off at one specific point.Terrible end to bus tour, Red tour and canal tour would suffice on this trip if possible-the rest are a waste of time and money.Written August 26, 2024
- matthewlN8893AL0 contributionsExcellent Views and Wonderfully Knowledgable GuideHad a wonderful time on this boat tour. It is an excellent way to see several of the islands that make up the city. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable And answered many questions. Our tour was at 11:30 in the morning and the crowds were moderate. Said he is beautiful and has a rich history. This is a great tour to see what makes the city unique. Definitely recommend if this is your first visit.Written August 26, 2024
- carolboy19520 contributionsIT WAS PERFECT...It was Perfect... The Live Guide was clear and easily understood. It was raining, but were supplied with Ponchos on the boat. We initially thought just one hour might be too short, but we did get to seeing all the highlights on the canals.Written August 26, 2024

If you want to see some interesting history of Denmark, take this or another Castle tour. Trips take up half a day and give you the opportunity to see some beautiful castles and palaces.
The bus takes a route through other villages and has a audio guide telling you interesting facts on the way to the castles. We had excellent weather and a very knowledgeable tour guide, two ingredients that made the tour complete.

Nice ride along the shore will take you to Kronborg (so-called hamlet) castle, then external view of queens castle and finally friedericksborg castle which is intact museum of danish history. Tour does not have a lunch break, you can either bring yours or order sandwiches for 9 euros.

We did this tour and really enjoyed it. The tour guide was friendly, informative and engaging. The castles were beautiful and I was delighted that we had a guide with us when we were viewing them as we would not have know about the interesting history.
The coach is very comfortable and there is an audio link while traveling on it so you can hear all about the areas we passed through- beautiful scenery.
When we got home my son realized that he had left his jacket on the bus- I contacted customer service as we were flying early the next morning and they persisted in their search until the jacket was found. 👏👏to Michala and her team for all their help.

We were picked up by a double decker tour bus at the City Hall. This is a great option if you want to avoid driving and avoid not knowing what you’re looking at. Often these tours are more transportation and less tour guiding. But this one isn’t like that; our tour guide, Jens, was excellent and added so much to the experience. Our first stop was Kronborg Slot, better known as The Hamlet Castle—setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet—near the town of Helsingør. The second stop was a short one for photos at Fredensborg Slot, not accessible since the Queen is normally in residence there during the summer. The third stop was Frederiksborg Slot near Hillerød—not to be confused with Frederiksberg Slot on the west side of Copenhagen. These are all massive and beautiful to behold, but even richer in the colorful history created there.

Great tour guide. Great explanation of era & country. Was running late to Cruse ship & they got us to a close stop to catch a cab to the ship. Left the am meeting area 30 min. late and ship departure was 1 hr. earlier than we thought when we booked it. So we just made it with 5 minutes to spare. Highly recommended tour. Would take it again.

The trip was extremely well organized- from the small portable hearing devices allowing us to listen to the cheerful guide without standing right next to her, to the bus lunch and thoughtful explanations coming from the earphones.
Not only were we given historical information on the castles and members of the Danish royal family but also personal insights from the guide, which made the experience even more exciting. The time spent at the Hamlet castle could've been a bit longer, but overall everything nicely and neatly planned and executed. Definitely recommended!

Excellent. Scenic. Good guide. I could have spent a lot more time in both castles, but for an introduction this worked out fine. Bus was large and comfortable. Excellent sandwich lunch.

Jens-Ulrich was a brilliant guide. A passionate historian who brought the castles and their inhabitants to life. The three castles are very different. Food and drink could be purchased on board for lunch. Excellent fare. Learnt so much about the history of Denmark - through these beautiful cast,es. The settings are beautiful. Not overrun by other tourists so that was good. A steady pace throughout but everything in Denmark is flat walking except for the Castle steps. Obviously castles needed steps so you can’t avoid them if you have a mobility issue. Great photographic opportunities inside and outside the castles.

Saw Isak Denisen's home. A million dollars would buy the smallest place. Really glad we did this tour.

Where can I go to get my paper ticket printed for this tour?
Written September 3, 2019
Yes, I noted that problem too when we booked this tour. In my case, we went to the hotel business center. Still encountered a problem, so the concierge had me email it to her and then printed it for me. It is one of the few inconveniences in this day when most arrangements require no paper. Good luck.
