What to Expect
After the briefing, we ride behind our guide on snowy hillsides and in forests crossing frozen rivers and swamps. See a plenty of nature during this half day trip into the wilds!
You may drive or sit as a passenger as the snowmobiles are equipped with a passenger seat, too. This safari is suitable for all people who want to experience the nature and modern snowmobiles. Recommended.
For driving on public tracks you need an international driving license and right hand traffic regulations are valid on public tracks. It is possible to drive on waterways and private areas without drivng license. Our snowmobiles are the newest model of Lynx Adventurer ACE snowmobiles, modern, silent, ecologic and very easy to drive. Solo driving is an option.
Transfers from your hotel to the starting point and back, all equipment, winter clothes and boots and are included. Warm beverages and snacks are offered during the safari.
The first snowmobile was created during the 20th century. With the shape of a sledge, it was intended for work to drive over snow and icy roads where other vehicles were not able to go. Stronger and faster it quickly replaced the sled dogs as a modern mode of transport. Nowadays, snowmobiles are mostly used for recreation.

The most incredible excursion ever
8th September 2019 This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The trip as a whole was more than I could have imagined, thanks to Anthony who was an amazing guide, so knowledgable and made us feel at home in the wilderness. The view from the hill even before the lights appeared was unbelievable, when the clouds cleared the stars were so bright I'd never seen so many stars before! Then the bonus of seeing the Aurora was just mesmerising. We stayed out for an extra hour hoping they would appear brighter, and it was on the drive home that we witnessed a show that I can't even describe! There's no other way of describing it, you just have to experience it! Even if we hadn't seen them on the way home, we would have been more than happy with the excursion because it was still such a unique experience. Also it was so much fun to have the sausages and drinks around the fire, spotting moose and wild rabbits on the way home, and getting dropped back outside our hotel room door, I couldn't recommend this trip enough. Thank you, thank you! Re the photography, it really doesn't matter if you don't have your own fancy camera as they send you the photos that the guide takes! Also I managed to capture some lower quality images using my iPhone, after downloading a night camera app which enabled me to change the exposure & white balance settings, so please don't be put off if you're not a professional photographer!

Many animals to visit
A great place to see animals in there natural habitat. We had a guide to show us the park and explain about the individual animals. Unfortunately we visited when it was 25 degrees so most of the animals were hiding. I especially enjoyed the many different varieties of owls especially the snow owls. There is a cafe, toilets and gift shop available.

Great way to get outside in Lapland
My partner and I chose Lapland Welcome for two excursions while we were in Rovaneimi in early March 2019. The first one was a short reindeer sleigh ride, and the second one was this one (snowshoe trip in the forest). I reviewed the reindeer excursion and then had to wait 3 months to review this other excursion (tripadvisor doesn't allow us to review the same place twice in less than 3 months). The snowshoe trip in the forest was great! My partner and I were again the only guests on this tour so it felt like a private tour again (may not be the same for others depending on time of year and luck). We met with our tour guide, Kira Rokx, at the Lapland Welcome office, and we drove to the starting location of the snowshoe excursion. It was actually really good conditions for snowshoeing. The top of the snow on the ground was kind of hard and crunchy on top of a thick layer of fluffy snow below; and it was sunny outside. During the snowshoeing, Kira would tell us about the different animal tracks in the snow, areas around the base of trees where reindeer have been foraging, and the different vegetation that reindeer like/need to eat that can be seen in the forest. We had a break at a large teepee tent, which had a firepit on the inside to make food such as sausages, hot chocolate/coffee, etc. We also saw some local Finns in the area (but not many) enjoying the outdoors. One man stopped to say hello to us and we talked for a little bit. It was a very lovely excursion and we definitely got our exercise in :)

Beautifiul Hiking Route, Wonderful and friendly guide
Booked this trip via their website and I must say it was an excellent experience. The journey to the destination does a while but it's all worth it. Our guide was Sami and he did a wonderful job ensuring that we were enjoying ourselves while being safe and warm. Sami did a great job explaining to us at the various stops points and giving us sufficient time to take in the nature with our eyes and our camera. Lunch by the fire was interesting and much needed to warm ourselves up again to be ready for the hike again. The hike is somewhat demanding with the snowshoes on for the whole hike so be mentally and physically prepared. Really recommend this to anyone who wants to do a little exercise and enjoy the nature in winter.

Good place for viewing northern lights, flexible company
I was recommended by a friend to go lapland welcome. Very thankful i did. So i booked a few northern lights tour for this trip with different companies (in case i couldnt see the lights that night), the location where lapland welcome put us at is an open space where if there were to be lights (i was unlucky) it would not be obscured by the trees. Also, they were very flexible in their planning. I was very sick the first night so i was unable to go for that day's tour, they managed to reschedule us to another day without much fuss.

Very friendly Guides
I did the Tours with the Snowmobile, twice also to see the Auroras. Guide Giacomo is so friendly, knows his way around, he looks very at your safety and its fun. He also can teach you a lot, if you want. A good Guy to get to know the natural origin of the area. You don't realize it's his job as he brings fun.

Amazing Experience with Great Team
I first went on this tour for Sunday 10 March 2019. There were only 6 of us in the tour - so 1 van. Our guide, Jay, was friendly, professional, passionate and dedicated - he loved the outdoors and wanted us to see the Northern Lights. We drove for about an hour out of Rovaniemi to a large cottage where we then trekked uphill for about 15 minutes - the snow sometimes was up to our knees. At the end of the trek, there are 2 tee-pees (we only used 1) where we had a fire, hot chocolate/tea/coffee and snacks (pork sausage, chicken nuggets, corn on the cob - let them know if you have any food restrictions). We waited until midnight - it was a clear sky with lots of stars but no northern lights. We tried other spots on our way back but no luck. I tried again the next night (same tour reduced rate) which was my last night in Rovaniemi. The forecast was good so there were about 35 people or so. We took multiple vans and trekked up. 2 tee-pees used this time. There was a faint line for the Northern Lights which then just became amazingly bright just after midnight. Totally breathtaking. Jay and the team again were very professional and keen on us seeing the lights. They kept the large group well managed. Highly recommended though you can never guarantee seeing the lights. Lapland Welcome team are great. You can get snow boots and warm protective clothing from them. Their office location / pick-up point is very central. Tips : 1. I wore my 6 inch yellow Timberland boots on Day 1 with my own waterproof trousers. Was fine but with knee high snow, some snow slipped in and my toes were a little wet. The next night, i used their higher snow boots instead. 2. Don't bundle up too warmly for the hike as you will overheat. Instead have layers to put on once you get to the top. 3. Similarly, in the tee-pee next to the fire, remove layers so that you can warm up faster 4. When viewing the lights, spend some time outside to get used to the night light. Do not switch on your torches. Switch off the flash on your camera. 5. Even though it'll be cold, do wait outside especially near midnight for the Northern Lights. The most spectacular view we got only lasted 1 minute or so Enjoy!

Fantastic experience !
Don’t let the price put you off ! We went in the aurora hunting night safari - no go with the lights but an Amazing experience ! The eco friendly snow mobiles still shift but offer almost total silence and ability to take in the beautiful surroundings - the hosts were amazing, the late supper fantastic - even rolling the snow mobile down a ditch didn’t ruin our fun ! Do it !!!!

Fun and Educational Trip to a Reindeer Farm
This was my first out of two tours with Lapland Welcome in Rovaniemi over the first weekend of March 2019. I stayed in Arctic City Hotel, which was literally a 1 minute walk from the Lapland Welcome office. Our guide (Kseniia, pronounced "Senya") picked us up right on time from the hotel reception area and brought us to the Lapland Welcome office to get equipped in a warm onesie and warm boots. It was just two of us booked on that tour for the 2PM tour (they have a 10AM and 2PM package), so getting dressed and getting going was pretty quick compared to the other reviews that I've read. I think we were pretty lucky that it was just the two of us. I felt like I was essentially getting a private tour with the guide that afternoon. The first part of the tour was getting into the Lapland Welcome vehicle (which was a van for this trip) and looking for wild reindeer from the vehicle on our way to the reindeer farm (SieriPoro Safaris, "poro" means reindeer in Finnish). We didn't happen to see any wild reindeer, which was totally fine with me as we have no control over wild animals and where they feel like being at certain times. It was a nice, scenic ride nonetheless with good conversation. Then we arrived at SieriPoro Safaris, where a woman who worked at SieriPoro named Krista (spelling?) lead the tour. We saw the "kindergarten" area where there were reindeer that were less than 1 year old (baby reindeer are born every May so they were close to being 1 in March), and the reindeer-in-training, the female reindeer, and-- as the trip title suggests-- a short reindeer sleigh ride (one lap around the fenced in sleigh track) with one of the experienced/trained reindeer who are used to people. After being outside learning about the various reindeer and the short sleigh ride, we went into a nice and traditional cabin where we had coffee, cookies, and learned more about the activities and traditions of the reindeer farm. I rate this tour 5 out of 5 because our Lapland Welcome guide was very nice, relatable, and enthusiastic, and also the guide at SieriPoro was very nice and informative. The experience was nice as it was just the two of us tourists and not a huge group. And I've read reviews on this tour before deciding to go on it, and I think it managed my expectations. I came into the experience expecting something more short, sweet and educational rather than some sort of extravagant sleigh ride adventure in the forest. If you're interested in visiting a reindeer farm and being educated on reindeer traditions and going for one lap around a track, then this tour is for you.

Most amazing experience!!!
I went on the Northern Lights trip on Feb. 28th and it had to have been one of the most incredible experiences ever. The guides were fantastic and helped people with their cameras. They also explained how the auroras are formed. After staring at the skies in awe we got to roast weenies around a campfire in a teepee. This company knows the BEST spot for viewing on top of a snowy hill in in pitch black--just the stars and the northern lights. Worth every cent!

Best trip in Finland ever!
My friends and I ordered the "Northern Lights by Car and on Foot Trip" on 2nd March, the meetup place which is also their office was quite easy to find in Rovaniemi. We were suggested to change our coats into their coverall suites and they also provided coldproof gloves and hats, all of them were superrrr warm so we didn't feel cold even in the minus 19 outside. We were so lucky that when the bus stopped in the middle of destination, we began to saw northern lights! It was amazing! Not only the green light but also red and purple light! For years I've not seen such many stars on the sky, and also shooting stars! And then we reached the destination and climbed to the hill with snow aid stick and flashlight, after around 10 mins walk, we enjoyed the whole sky stars on the hill, warm ourself in front of bonfire, hot chocolate and sausage grilling (thanks again for the wonderful food and drink service!) Around 1.30am we headed to the city area of Rovaniemi. Personally, I love what the tour guide explained to us with regards to the history and prediction of northern lights, their services are so nice and all tour guides are well organized. I highly recommend you guys choosing Lapland Welcome! The best service provider of the aurora trip!

One of the best tour ever!!!!
my friends and i joined the "Northern Lights Photography Tour from Rovaniemi" on 28 Feb 2019. we were picked up from the office which is very close by to our Airbnb and equipped with winter gear and climbing stick to start our adventure from a gentle mountain. Fortunately we were lucky enough to see the Northern Light, and also we did have a wonderful journey guided by our friendly guide. The campfire was excellent, BBQ snacks were so tasty and we learnt a lot about Finnish tradition and the Northern light. Great tour and highly recommended!! :0)
