Next, continue to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Take in the beauty of the fall and walk behind the cascade to Skogafoss, whose waters plunge down a 197-foot (60-meter) drop. Make the most of the many photo ops as the falls and scenery promise some stunning shots. Finally, take a short walk to the glacier edge of Solheimajokull, a sublet glacier of Myrdalsjokull. Fantastic guide and beautiful scenery
Our tour guide Tony was absolutely the best! He was super knowledgeable and passionate about the country. Not only was he an amazing guide, he went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was as good as it could possibly be. He was helpful, friendly and so very kind. He will remain a memorable part of our visit to Iceland.

Did this tour on Bus Iceland. What a fantastic day out. Gethrun the guide was really knowledgeable and also funny. We packed loads into the day including a lunch stop in Grindavik! Was an emotional stop and made you think about the people affected. Thanks for a great trip

Golden Circle Not to be Missed! Get Out There.
If at all possible book the Golden Circle Tour with Bus Travel Iceland and request (if possible) Daniel as your guide and Paco as your driver. What a TEAM. This was the second tour through Bus Travel Iceland out of eight and they both were so much more superior than the other operators. ( Kudos to Assa in Akureyri !) Daniel was beyond excellent with his information, helpfulness, organization and presentation. The Golden Circle is not to be missed. If you have time for only one excursion in Reykjavik this is the one. More than ample time was made for each stop and attraction. Even had a lunch stop at a busy restaurant / gift store at the Geyser. This is a long excursion but sooo worth it. Thanks to Daniel and Paco for making our time in Reykjavik the very best.

Was a amazing experience I don't feel like I was really on earth. And thanks our fantastic guide Alain was also a trip through the history, the mythology and the geology of that incredibly beautiful place. We saw seals, montains where giaiant and trolls still live there, lava field and we stay all day lettaraly in the middle of the nowhere surrounded just by nature. Thanks Alain and BusTravel for that see you on the next adventure

A Day in Iceland with Devin
A Day in Iceland with Devin I didn't know I wanted to visit Iceland until I took this tour. Our guide and driver, Devin, has an "exceptional grasp of the American English language!" He's funny, smart and so good at sharing information and history.

        Devin the great guide!
There was a lot of confusion gathering groups and then dividing them into each tour but when we got to our tour we were greeted by Devin and our group of 13 started out. It was not beautiful weather but the geography, history and culture of Iceland was shining through Devin’s narration. We ended at the Thingvellir national park. What a great day!

        Thank you Alain!
Great excursion and hike around southwest Iceland. Kleifarvatn lake and the sulphur springs were otherworldly and worth seeing. Unfortunately the 2024 eruption was not visible from the viewing point due to fog but seeing the lava fields from the other recent eruptions was amazing. Alain was also a great guide, knowledgeable and friendly.

        Fantastic small group tour
I went on the Golden Circle small group tour and really enjoyed it. Our tour guide Devin was very knowledgeable, insightful, and funny, sharing interesting history and geography information about the area throughout the tour. We hit the major Golden Circle highlights with plenty of time at each stop. Very well worth the price and time. A note for wheelchair users or anyone with mobility issues: Several tours told me that they could not take me because I use a wheelchair. BusTravel was open to it, but there is no ramp on the vehicles. This tour worked for me because it was a small group tour so it was a large van (with a seat right by the door) rather than a mega bus, and because the tour guide Devin was extremely helpful (putting my manual wheelchair in the back and taking it out at each stop). I had to transfer to the steps and hoist myself up to the seat near the door, so it wouldn't work for someone who can't do that.

BusTravel probably has the best tour guides in Iceland
Our tour guide Tony(aka Siggi) was amazing. I actually went on two tours with him, the Golden Circle and snaefellsnes peninsula. Tony was informative, knowledgable, and has a good sense of humor. I can listen to him all day. Highly recommend to book a tour with Tony!!

Perfect itinerary for first day trip in Iceland
There were only 10 people on our tour and everything ran as smooth as butter. Our guide Alain was extremely knowledgeable, funny and also down to earth, making the saying, “if you snooze you lose” a reality for me. It was a delightful intro to Iceland.

A Fun, Educational Tour, and a Company That Really Takes Great Care of You
I didn't have especially high expectations for this tour, as it seemed like the standard one that everyone takes, and that can pretty easily turn into getting herded like cattle through a bunch of sights by bored guides. But this was a very pleasant surprise. Our guide Beggi was knowledgable, enthusiastic, and funny, and we had plenty of time at each stop to check everything out, and plenty of context from him about what we were seeing and the history and geology behind it as well. And the sights themselves were spectacular! Also, BusTravel Iceland really went the extra mile for us in two different ways. First, we were cutting it close on making it into town from the airport in time to rendezvous with the tour. They called us and arranged a direct pickup at our hotel, and everything worked out great. Second, we had the nightmare scenario of leaving a phone on the bus on our first day in the country, and Beggi, our driver Paco and the rest of the staff retrieved it and made sure we got it back by the next morning. Really can't recommend this outfit enough, great tour, great people, learned a lot and had a lot of fun!

I did the southern Iceland tour on 19th February 2020. The tour was very well organised with a full coach load of visitors. The weather was incredibly windy and snowy on this day. When we arrived at the first stop, the glacier, the guide advised that she would walk with us to the glacier. However the guide didn’t wait for everyone to get off the bus. Normally this would not have been a problem but the weather was incredibly snowy and the path had been totally covered over and there were no markers on the mountain side to guide you, the guide didn’t wait for everyone meaning I was unable to find my way. This was disappointing as this was the reason I did the tour. We arrived at the beach next, where we also stopped for lunch, due to the travel conditions we were unable to travel by road any further. The restaurant was fine but incredibly busy with two coach loads of visitors. The beach was stunning and well worth a visit. Due to the weather we were only able to stop at one waterfall (I totally appreciate that safety is paramount here) and it was beautiful. Well worth the visit. The tour guide and the driver were very friendly, and the driver did well consider the weather conditions. However, I have only given three stars due to the guide not waiting for everyone to get off the coach. Given different weather conditions this could have been better.

This trip is great for a budget but it is very rushed, you wake up super early and spend most of the day on the bus with only very short times at each stop. You have to pick whether to go to the toilet, take a picture or stop and enjoy the view. We had to run to the bus at most stops and it can make the experience stressful. However the tour guides are great and funny, and the places you visit are amazing despite how busy they get or how short time you get to see them. I would recommend if you are on a budget as it fits in a lot of amazing locations into one day for a bit less money. If you can afford it though I would rent a car for these sites. I also recommend taking a packed lunch as the lunch stops have long queues and can be expensive.

We were in Iceland for my husbands early birthday with another couple. We booked an impromptu tour of southern island to see the glaciers, water falls, and black sand beach. We had an amazing time!

Our guide Rose provided excellent information on all of the ares that we visited and shared Icelandic history and culture along the way. Our driver Michael kept us on time and safe - as the roads were a bit icy!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing amazing sites outside of the main city.

The whole tour was absolutely brilliant. Given more than enough time to see each attraction, and each attraction was beautiful. Our tour guide Matt answered every question from every attendee with a huge amount of knowledge and did so very politely, also engaging in normal conversation and telling stories and facts from Iceland and even cracking jokes throughout the journey to each attraction. Matt also communicated in different languages, making sure everyone felt included in the tour. Another shoutout has to go to our driver Magic (probably spelt incorrectly please forgive me) as he drove smoothly through what seemed like all 4 seasons and more. I would recommend this tour to anybody staying in Iceland, and if you get Matt and Magic, I have to say you should feel very lucky. 2 absolutely great guys who made the trip just that much better than it would’ve been anyway.

An absolute disaster of a tour! Unprofessional, disorganised and not what we paid for... We had a 3 hour delay to the tour as the bus broke numerous times but the communication was poor and there was a reluctance to give refunds yet we had to hop on/off 4 buses so everyone was fed up with the tour before it even began. We had to make an unexpected stop at a power plant whilst awaiting for a new bus, which then arrived with insufficient seats to cater for everyone so myself and my partner were stood up for about 30 minutes whilst they decided what they were going to do. Meanwhile they had all the doors open on the bus in the middle of a snowstorm so all the passengers were freezing. Due to the delay we were then rushed at all stops and were only given 10-15 minutes at each destination. I understand that the weather can be severe and unpredictable in Iceland but the way the situation was handled was terrible and was a really poor reflection on the tour company.

Absolutely awful experience! Wanted to spoil our son for his 21st birthday and we were all mega excited. Arrived at Bus Stop 12 as per instructions before pick up time of 8am. As expected was very cold and icy and there were so many people/buses all over the place shouting out names of those who’d booked, was totally chaotic! I received a call telling me they were waiting for us as Bust Stop 10!!!! Anyway, they said next stop was Bus Stop 12 so we waited and waited amid the madness and nobody called our name out at any of the coaches. I called them and they said we had missed the bus and advised us to take a taxi at our expense to the bus station in order to catch-up with coach. All in all a total disaster and I will ensure I claim back my money but have a feeling they will blame us. Do not use these people.

Hey there, We are always in contact with our guests before the departure date to inform them about the pick up location and time. This is done via several emails in advance. If a pick up is missed by the guest there is sometimes an option for the guests to take a taxi on their own expenses to catch up with the bus.

The weather on this day was terrible, but Dave, our tour guide, made the best of it. He and the driver worked to rearrange things so that we could take advantage of the few breaks in the weather. We were able to see everything we were supposed to, except the glacier. The road to it had been washed out. We could see the closure. Nothing to be done. Dave was very informative, but in a friendly and casual way. He answered all questions that came his way from us tourists. Very good tour, beautiful landscape, just wish the weather would have been even a little bit better!

The pick-up method was shambolic. We were charged around an extra £18 to be picked up from Bus Stop 12 which is actually one of the starting Pick-up Points anyway. When booking the website did not show where the pick up points were so because we requested to be picked up we were charged extra. When my husband queried this they were not interested in refunding us for what should have been included in the cost of the trip. There was no mention on the website that it was necessary to have WhatsApp downloaded for any information required on this tour. The tour guide (I have no idea what his name was) moved away before we had a chance to get his mobile number so that we could get on to the WhatsApp group. At the first stop we approached him to ask for his number and he stated that he would sort that out later. That never happened and we felt left out of the loop for the entire trip. The guide does not wait for the whole group to disembark from the bus and it was a struggle to keep up with him for that reason. At times we didn't even know where he was. There were far too many people on this tour (around 50 I would imagine) and I would certainly not recommend touring with this company again. There are lots of other companies who do smaller group tours for the same price.

Dear VTGA55, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience on the South Iceland tour. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us enhance our services. We wanted to touch base on the pick-up process to provide some clarity. You booked a tour with pickup included, and in such cases, we provide a comprehensive list of all available pick-up locations. When you made your booking, you opted for pick-up at Fosshotel Reykjavik, specifically at Tour Bus Stop 12. Our website clearly indicates the main free-of-charge pick-up point, and our customer support team is always available to assist with any questions or concerns. Regarding the mention of a refund for the pick-up part, unfortunately, we did not receive any emails or other communication from your side regarding this matter. Additionally, while we don't utilize WhatsApp for communication, our tour guides may take photos during the journey and offer to share them with customers via various platforms, including WhatsApp, Messenger, or email, at no additional cost. We also want to reassure you that our tour guides are always with the entire group throughout the tour. The only exception is Vík town, where travelers have the opportunity to explore independently, enjoy lunch, shop, or relax at the black sand beach. In terms of group size, you booked a classic big group tour, accommodating up to 61 customers. However, for those seeking a more private experience, we offer small group and private tours with our buses or private cars. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will use it to improve our services further. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our customer support team at info@bustravel.is Kind regards, Andrius

The tour guide had an outstanding knowledge of Iceland and was very professional. The driver also drove very safely. It was a small group due to COVID 19 but was very enjoyable and necessary precautions had been taken. The tour took us to all the main locations with plenty of time for photos.

The only negatives were that the minibus legroom is poor if you are tall and they request your COVID test result without stating this in the booking.

From pick up to drop off, Monika guided us expertly and graciously through all of our stops while it snowed, rained, sleeted and finally ended with a beautiful clear sunset. She shared interesting facts and stories about Iceland as well as songs from her personal playlist. She has great guide skills as well as a wry sense of humor which made this tour truly memorable. Highly recommend it!
