Reykjanes Peninsula Day Trip from Reykjavik with Optional Blue Lagoon Drop-Off
US$98.00
Overview
Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula is a land of spectacular coastline, soaring cliffs, and geothermal lava fields—but hitting the highlights from Reykjavik requires insider knowledge. On this sightseeing tour, discover top attractions including Strandakirkja church and Reykjanesviti lighthouse, and visit geothermal Gunnuhver and Krýsuvík with your guide. Includes pickup in central Reykjavik and optional drop-off at the famous Blue Lagoon.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with a morning pickup at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel or the bus terminal. Then, head out of the city toward the beautiful Reykjanes Peninsula—home to dramatic coastlines, bubbling lava fields, and quaint towns.

Spin through the pretty town of Eyrarbakki on route to Strandakirkja church, and admire sweeping views across the Icelandic countryside along the way. Explore the geothermal hot spots of Krýsuvík and Gunnuhver with your guide, and gain insight into Iceland’s rich geology.

Next, head through Grindavík to the coast, where rolling waves crash into the cliffs beneath the Reykjanesviti lighthouse. Here, capture the dramatic scenery on camera and marvel at the might of Mother Nature.

See where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet deep below ground, then perhaps finish with a visit to the famous Blue Lagoon (own expense). Alternatively, return to your starting point in central Reykjavik to conclude your tour.

One disappointment after another

We reluctantly booked a tour with Reykjavik Excursions. Initially, the company had very good reviews; but within the past year their ratings seem to have really slipped. Even so, Reykjavik Excursions was the only company we found that offered a Reykjanes Peninsula tour. We got...More

One of our favorite things in Iceland!!!!

This may have been our favorite tour we did while in Iceland! We visited in late November, so it was full-on winter with snow and ice and rain, but that did not stop us from seeing all of the gorgeous sights of Iceland, just in...More

Amazing, so beautiful

I've been to Iceland several times, and have never been disappointed. This excursion keeps the streak intact. It was amazing seeing the geothermal power plant, and the geothermal hot spots throughout the area. We learned a lot about the land, the volcanic science, the history....More

When I spoke to the company during our planning stage, they told me to plan around a 4.30pm arrival. So we booked entry for 5pm to give us a bit of a buffer in case the tour was late. The Blue Lagoon gives you a one hour... More
