        Terrible service
I booked two days tour with Reykjavík sightseeing. First day was very good. The guide was very nice. The second day weather was very bad (26.1.2024) we were driving to the bus terminal we called them to wait for us for 5 min as your suppose to start at 9 and we were reaching at 9:05. We called them and informed them that Road is very slippery and we are driving for the first time in this weather please wait for us. When we reached there we were parking the car and they left in front of our eyes leaving us behind. My whole day was ruined because of that stupid driver and guide. I m sure I m not gonna book again with them ever again.

        Failed to pick us up
Golden circle plus sky lagoon tour. We were given a pick up time from our hotel 7.30-8am. I had even confirmed via email the previous day as I'd had a couple of questions to ask and told them we were excited for our trip. We only had 2 and a half days in Iceland so needed the plans to run like clockwork to fit everything in and having paid approximately £430 this is was expected. We waited outside our hotel from 7.25am and stood until around 8.20, I had started to think something wasn't right so gave the company a ring, the person that answered didn't seem to know why we hadn't been collected and said to wait until 10am when another trip was on and we would be picked up and have exactly the same trip. We were very happy with this outcome only slightly irritated by the fact we'd stood outside for an hour and no bus fitting the description had passed and surely a driver would have a list of people they were picking up and a contact number if they were not there? On the bus I realised I'd have to cancel a northern lights tour for that evening as we would now be back too late to make the bus so I rescheduled it for the following night and had to reschedule a restaurant booking!! 😡 At around lunchtime I checked my emails and discovered one from Reykjavik Sightseeing saying we could no longer go to sky lagoon as they had no availability and did I want that part of the trip refunded or rescheduling!!! at this point I was getting upset as my family had really wanted to visit sky lagoon. I left the group at the geyser to call the company to see when we could rearrange, I was told they would call straight back, this took over an hour for them to call back with another time for the following day, in this time I had missed this part of the trip and was pretty angry and upset with how much of the morning I had spent messaging/emailing/waiting instead of enjoying the experience. I had paid for this as a Christmas present for my daughter and partner and had it arranged for a year. I tried to make the most of the rest of the day. Iceland is amazing the sights we saw were unforgettable but unfortunately so is my negative experience with this company. After numerous emails and complaints when I returned home, they didn't think I deserved any compensation as they felt they had done everything in their power to make it work and offered 10% off any further trips I made with them if I ever returned to Iceland, I told them this was a joke. I later complained through get your guide as I'd booked through them and wondered if they could help, they refunded me £43 which I still find insulting but I know I'm not going to get any better than this. I will add that our tour guide was fantastic with his knowledge, organisation and recommendations.

        Shocking service...
Be very aware!! We booked and as per instructions waited outside our hotel from 7:25 for a pick up between 7:30-8:00. 3 minibuses turned up in that time including one from this company. We stated our name and they said "no" we were not on the list so it would probably be a later bus. 50mins of waiting in the freezing cold the hotel reception phoned the company for us only to hear them say that we weren't there and had missed the tour completely. The hotel will confirm we were there, every other company was spot on time.... This was a shambles... What should have been the highlight of our Iceland trip cost us over £400 so far waisted. We contacted the company by email 48 hours ago, one automated response and no resolution..... DONOT recommend this company, please book one of the more reputable ones, and I will be fighting for my money back. We had to hire a car and drive the route ourselves costing us even more money!!

        Walking tour with Asta
We had an excellent guide - Asta. She provided an excellent history of the city and clearly very proud of her country, which is always great to see. She was very entertaining and gave us some great tips on where to eat and shop as well.

Steer clear or be very disappointed
I’ll start by addressing how they’re likely to respond based on their reply to my Google review. A few lines such as: THEM: Please note that refunds are not approved by phone by our customer service team ME: So why did they offer it over the phone? Train your staff better. THEM: The refund for the cost of the headphones which were added by you when you did your reservation has been processed knowing that the audio was not available. ME: Only after three emails arguing the point with them. They’re not the brightest and still haven’t explained why I got dumped onto another tour with just one language – English (broken English). THEM: We appreciate your feedback and are dedicated to providing a better experience. ME: Sure you do…unoriginal spiel. THEM: We do hope we will have the joy of seeing you again here in Iceland. ME: I’d prefer to put needles in my eyes over taking one of your halfwit tours… THE MAIN REVIEW: I booked around August 2023 and the guy shows up on time. However, instead of an interactive tour in 10 languages, there's just a piece of paper with 'Northern lights mystery tour' on the front of the bus. So my kid, who only really speaks Spanish, was stuffed as Roar from Lilyhammer, who was our driver, garbled explanations about the lights. We saw literally nothing - it was utterly disorganised - a convoy of various big coaches shipping us to the wrong locations. Basically, none of the drivers seemed to have a clue where to find the lights. They say you have a lifetime guarantee to try to see them again for free but the day after they were all booked up. Hence, they'll wriggle out of your free trip by saying they're booked and then it's unlikely you return to Iceland. And even if you do, why would you use such a bunch of unprofessional, incompetent money grabbers? They basically bundled us onto the other tour as we were all departing from The Hilton. And it was only acknowledged after much argument that I'd get a refund for the headphones I'd purchased online. No refund for the fact they put us on a different and completely inadequate tour. Kind of like ordering a vegetarian dish in a restaurant and getting roast beef. I'll also report them to the tourist authority there as these people are utter charlatans. STEER CLEAR or end up bitterly cold staring at clouds and being led by the blind... Date of experience: January 2024

The highlight of our trip to Iceland.
The highlight of our trip to Iceland. A very well organised trip with a knowledgable guide, Hulda, who explained the Northern Lights in detail and was constantly checking that we were in the best location to see them. We had plenty of time so wear really warm clothes and base layers. We didn’t feel rushed at all and even got a bonus stop in on the way back as more Lights activity started up. Hulda even explained how to set cameras and phones to help get the best photos. An excellent trip. Would definitely recommend.

Full day out with adrenaline rush snowmobiling.
A must do day trip, the highlight being the snowmobiling on the glacier. Everything is really well organised and the tour guides are helpful and knowledgable. Helmets, overalls and gloves are provided but you must wear your own boots which should be proper snow / hiking boots. There is an opportunity to take photos at the top of the glacier. Visibility varies dramatically depending on the weather on the day. The geysers stop is really good too and the landscape is very interesting. Make sure you wait to watch the live geyser erupt. We booked this tour as part of our package holiday via Secret Escapes. Would definitely recommend.

Blue lagoon great Reykjavik sightseeing rubbish
Went to the blue lagoon, on drop off we were told to check our ticket fir return. No return time given… arrived at 5 went back to the bus at 7.30 as blue lagoon shuts at 7.30pm waited in the freezing cold till 8.20 none of the other buses would let us on! Eventually the driver showed up and said he’d cut short his lunch hour to take us back!?!?! Really expensive trip was overcharged as at the blue lagoon they tile me one of my granddaughters should have been free. I’m disappointed with this service the lack of communication and being overcharged

We were standing outside waiting for the tour bus when a green bus drove thru the pickup/drop off lane at the hotel with out opening the door to see if anyone was here for the tour. Upon calling they gave us the run around and said they tried to call us, when I asked what # they used they changed their story. We are rescheduled for tomorrow. Since we bought as a package they would refund. Complete joke! Never again!

A combination of lack of WiFi on the tour bus and an ill informed and uninterested guide meant that we didn’t learn anything about Iceland on our day trip, which was highly disappointing. The glacier tour which was with a different company was thankfully wonderful and their guides excellent. A good guide makes all the difference and for this reason I would highly recommend against using Reykjavik Sightseeing if you have the misfortune to get the guide we had today.

I have a big problem with my refund. I paid to South Coast and Glacier Ride, and when my husband and I pass the information to enter in the bus at Terminal Reykjavick the female guide told to us that the Glacier Ride was not operated on that day. So, we went only South Coast. About the refund we told to me on email that is not possible because the tour was operated on that day. I observed then that the female guide made a mistake and we didn't go to Glacier due to this mistake. I request my refund due to trouble that she made. RS22084455.

      I request my refund!!!!!!!

Thank you Isabela for taking the time in writing us about refund here as well. We made sure to answer all your inquiries on all the other platforms you reached out. We consider this review is nor fair to the situation that occurred. On the day there were not email correspondence in regards to any cancelation about the glacier part. Moreover on board of your bus there were other travelers who joined the activity per the guide announcement, so we would like to think there was some sort of misunderstanding.

This is advertised as an 11 hour trip (there and back). In fact we managed to see a lot more than promised and the driver (sorry I did not get his name) and Ralph our guide got us back in a little under 10 hours. This tour is worth every penny. It takes you all the way to the charming little town of Vik and back, taking in some breath-taking scenery and incredible views along the way, including two amazing waterfalls and the memorable Black Sand beach to name just a view. Iceland's south coasts has so much to offer the visitor and this tour is a convenient and cost-effective way to experience it. The audio guide is handy (you'll need to bring your own earphones or you can buy them off the tour guide) but Ralph the tour guide offered plenty of great insight and information himself. There is sufficient time on the trip for comfort breaks, stretching your legs and getting coffee or food. Free wifi on board and at the end of the tour, I was delivered to my hotel drop-off bus stop. This was my first full day in Iceland and was a great introduction.

This day trip was absolutely amazing with seeing the black sand beaches and 2 waterfalls with an unexpected detour to a glacier which was much appreciated! Yoyo the tour guide was extremely friendly and had a plethora of folk stories and a vast knowledge of the areas we visited as well as advice for the best restaurants to go to as it was mine and my girlfriends 2nd anniversary. Vicek (V-Dog) the driver was also extremely friendly and got us to the locations without any trouble. To top things off, we unexpectedly saw the northern lights while driving back to Reykjavik which was absolutely breathtaking. Couldn’t recommend this trip enough!

We really enjoyed the south coast trip. It was approx 10 hours. We were given ample time to explore at each stop. There was a lot of driving (minibus) but there were regular toilet breaks and the stops were spaced out well. Paul was our driver and guide. He was friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. He was also an amazingly skilled driver - the weather conditions suddenly changed but he dealt with this really well. Would definitely recommend the trip!

That was my second trip with this company. Well, obviously I used the services of this company for the second time as I was pretty happy after my first experience.
The bus was clean and I had a pickup service from my hotel.

The WiFi was working during the trip.
The driver was a professional and he also gave some important tips about the trip. The guide Liubomyra shared stories about that part of Iceland since it was a different direction from our previous destination.

The places of visit are beyond all the natural beauty comprehension. The waterfalls were picturesque and the guide also showed us a secret or hidden waterfall which is worth getting wet.

All the way the guide was really helpful answering all the questions I had: about the country, nature and everything and usually I have a lot of questions.

I definitely recommend this company for sightseeing!

Thank you for trusting us in being part of your Icelandic experience. We are very happy to see you joined us on 2 of our best selling tours and that you had such an amazing time. As you passionate about waterfalls and you have now visited 4, on both Golden Circle and South Coast tour, you now have only 9996 left, so might want to plan your next trip to Iceland already!

This tour operator exceeded all expectations. We did five excursions with Reykjavik Sightseeing and they provided both our airport transfers. Everything worked perfectly. The drivers were courteous and the guides personable and knowledgeable. As guests we quickly trusted the tour operators implicitly and felt able to totally enjoy the splendour of our surroundings without worrying that anything would go amiss or that the icy road conditions would be a worry. Tour prices were very reasonable and enough time was given for comfort breaks during the day. I would highly recommend.

I booked this tour (last day of August) because I wanted to see the South Coast, but I didn't want to make the arduous drive down there and that turned out to be a great decision. I'm, embarrassingly enough, blanking on the names of our guide, but he was fantastic–funny, witty, and he had a lot of stories to tell (both personal anecdotes and some fascinating folktales behind virtually every stop that the tour makes) that really give you a deeper understanding of Icelandic culture and daily life.

It's still a 10-plus hour tour, though, so be prepared for a long day and a very late lunch (2:30 for us), but, for the sheer number of incredible things that you get to see (and I'm referring to both official stops and the landscapes that you see while on the road) I felt it was very much worth the price we paid.
