2-Day Tour: Blue Ice Cave, Jokulsarlon, Black Beach, and Waterfalls
Pack in some of the Icelandic South Coast’s best highlights, such as a blue ice cave and Reynisfjara black-sand beach, in two days on a tour that includes breakfast and accommodation in Seljaland. Your guide knows the best ways to get around the South Coast while keeping you free to focus on scenery and spotting the northern lights, if the conditions are right.
What to Expect
Your tour starts with pickup from your Reykjavik hotel, where you board your minibus. Depart Reykjavik, driving along Route 1 passing small towns and Icelandic countryside.

Make your first stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall beneath the Eyjafjallajokull volcano. Next, visit Skogafoss, Kvernufoss, and Irafoss waterfalls. Then, head to the black-sand Reynisfjara beach, home to black basalt formations, and puffins during certain times of the year.

Your first day concludes in Seljaland, where accommodations at a country guesthouse await. Before turning in for the night, search for the northern lights, if weather conditions are favorable.

The second day begins with a drive through the village of Vik and a stop at Skaftafell National Park. Continue to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where you explore the magical ice caves—don’t forget to bring your camera.

Then, head back to Reykjavik, making a quick stop in Vik for refreshments, while keeping an eye out for the northern lights, if conditions are suitable.
