About
Join this tour along Iceland's south coast to discover its stunning glaciers, lava fields, volcanoes, strong rivers and waterfalls. You will also see an amazing black beach scattered with icebergs, next to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. The stunning Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is where huge icebergs float in ice cold water and seals swim around them. The highlights of the tour are a boat tour in Jokulsarlon the glacier lagoon in front of the biggest glacier in Europe which is located in the most amazing National park in Iceland AND a walk on blue ice in Solheimajokull. Our glacier guides are professionals and they will provide you all safety equipment needed for the Glacier Hike (crampons, ice axes, etc) and teach you how to use them in a correct way. The scenery and views from the Glacier is stunning and you see ice sculptures and the deep crevasses of the glacier in a very clear way.

Tour was excellent! Exceeded all expectations. Christina was our tour guide and she really made both days phenomenal. She was very attentive to everyone, had great knowledge of everything we were seeing and gave us all tips for our next adventure. Made my first couple days in Iceland unforgettable. Would highly recommend!!

Awesome tour

Absolutely stunning. Our guides were really cool and did additional stops that were not even described in the voucher, and they were amazing. They always gave us enough time to fully enjoy our visit to every attraction. We did enough food/coffee/WC breaks. The included glacier hike and boat tours were also amazing. The hotel they gave us was really nice with amazing view and with super nice staff (they served us dinner after kitchen was officially closed). Breakfast, which was also included, was delicious. Driving was very smooth and overall the experience was amazing. We had a great time and we highly recommend this tour.

More than you expect
Aug. 2021 • Family
Amazing tour with most of best places of Iceland! Much more than we expected! Very good guide, many stops and enough time to visit everything. The guide helped me on the glacier hike that is anyway less difficult than I though and more exciting. Wonderful the Dimond Beach with the seals and the lagoon with the overcraft. The little group, the guide and also the restaurants made the difference. We did some tours in Iceland but only with Nicetravel we had a perfect experience!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on the 2 day tour through the South Coast! David was a great guide - very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. My favorite part was the glacier hike, which was just the right balance of adventurous, beautiful, and exciting. I highly recommend this tour!

Great itinerary & AMAZING guide
Aug. 2021
This two-day trip was a highlight of our time in Iceland. Some of that was part of the standard package: Each of the stops was beautiful, with scenic drives in between, and unique activities (hiking on a glacier with crampons and ice picks on Day 1 and cruising around a glacial lagoon on an amphibious vehicle on Day 2) as the centerpiece of each day. The bus was classy and comfortable with good WiFi, as was the hotel we stayed at.

But what made the tour so special was our guide, Baldur, a 30th generation Icelander who made us all feel very welcome and comfortable, and taught us a TON about his country—its geology, geography, history, culture, cuisine, politics, music, folklore, religion, etc. His stories were funny but also moving and memorable. His English was PERFECT and he even helped us learn a little Icelandic. He truly went above and beyond, adding an extra stop on Day 1 to see adorable puffins, making connections between various aspects of Iceland’s past and present and the places we visited, giving great tips, and even putting together a customized soundtrack (including some hilarious attempts to circumvent laws requiring only Icelandic-language broadcasting on their lone public radio station back in the day by phonetically reproducing English pop-songs using similar-sounding Icelandic lyrics). He clearly loved his homeland a great deal, but was also well-travelled and could speak objectively about Iceland and make helpful comparisons to the US (where we’re from). I can virtually guarantee that any tour with Baldur will be super enjoyable and memorable!

Small Group
Aug. 2021
Viewing Waterfalls/Glacier Lagoon/Basalt Black Sand Beach riding in the amphibian boat on the Glacier Lagoon. I was able to view a Folk Museum too, only because I did not sign up for the Glacier Hike. Baldur our driver/guide offered this to me as an alternative (3hrs). It was just my speed! After regrouping with others after their glacier hike a few in the group, after hearing what I was able to tour, wished they had not not gone on the Glacier Hike...they felt they slowed up other glacier hikers that were more fit. So what I am trying to also say, Nice Tours are flexible...Baldur was great providing the right amount of the history of Iceland and story telling about the Hidden People who live here too!
I would put myself in the category of being a non-tour group person, and I enjoyed using what Nice Tours provided...small and more personal with the clout to provided an enjoyable experience, comfortable van, maneuvering the sites, and the accommodations were 1st class and not fussy. One note: if you have binoculars bring them with you for this tour.

Best Tour Ever
Jul. 2021
This tour made our experience in Iceland. It is honestly a really great price for the amount of amazing experiences you get in a short two day trip. Our trip was made all the more special by our guide, Christina. I travel a lot, but she was probably my favorite tour guide of any trip I have taken in any country. She was flexible, super knowledgeable, engaging and added a few extra stops along the way for fun surprises like ice cream and a secret cave (can't say more it would ruin some surprise details about it). Really a wonderful experience.
