Overview
Adventure by snowmobile along the winding ice trails of Myrdalsjokull glacier. This Icelandic snowmobile safari outfits you in a helmet and insulated overalls, taking you through rugged wilderness on a fun, guided tour that’s perfect for first-time riders. Stop along the way to capture memories of the scenic mountain landscape. Pick from a choice of times to best fit your schedule.
What to Expect
Choose between a morning, midday or afternoon snowmobile safari. Each tour leaves from the base of Myrdalsjokull glacier, a short drive west of Vic. From there, you’ll pull on a helmet and a set of insulated, cold-weather overalls, get a safety lesson from your English-speaking guide and board the off-road bus that transports you on the half-hour trip (each way) to the glacier trail head.

At Myrdalsjokull, you’ll hop on a two-person snowmobile with a driver (solo riders pay a surcharge) and set off on a 1-hour ride with a small group and English-speaking guide.

Along the way, you’ll be able to stop and snap photos of the dramatic Icelandic scenery. Afterward, you’ll end your tour where it began.

Snowmobiling with Arcanum

Its a must do experiance when in Iceland. You dont get a chance to drive a snowmobile on a glacier every day. I want to thank our guide Christian, for the best time of our stay in Iceland.

Absolutely recommended

Overall, I found Iceland forgettable with no good hotels and the city center REALLY dirty. However, snowmobiling was absolutely the highlight of the trip. There were parts of the hour where you literally felt like you were riding in the clouds. Highly recommended.

Great guides!

Sadly I didn't catch our guide's name but he was great and this adventure was amazing! In particular, he realized another family with small children may impact the rest of the group's experience so split us up into two groups. All the guides were also...More

I think it's 2 hours. You'd likely stop by the geyser on your way there

We went snowmobiling in July so I'd say it's a year round activity.
