I was a little disappointed with the car if I’m honest.
I think my expectations were probably a little unrealistic and should have maybe done a bit more research. You can only really go around the south of the island and as far up as Mdina. I had in my mind we could all around the island.
The first place we visited was Marsaxlokk and then we were heading to St Peter’s pool, on route the battery went down to 4 bars which we were advised we would need to return back to the depot to get a new car. So we headed back and swapped the car.
We then went to Mdina we were advised that we could park on any public car park for free and if someone asked for money politely advise it is free to park. So this happened and then man at the car park was quite angry and said we would be blocked in then. We ignored and carried on into Mdina. When we returned we had been blocked in the same man came over and started shouting I told you this would happen, in the end a lady came out of a restaurant and said something to the man who then moved the car blocking us in and said next time I won’t let you out for 24 hours! So just beware, not the rental company’s fault but something to be mindful of.
We then carried on to a couple more locations before returning to Valletta to return the car.
I think the QR codes given should be directions to a car park as we did have to drive around looking for the car parks which then ends up using more battery.

We took a Twizy on Weds 2nd November 2022. We were not told what time to bring back the vehicle although I had every intention of bringing it back before darkness. When we started out the battery was showing about 60% full. This did'nt bother me as Malta is small, it should be enough.
We went to Mdina, Popeye Village and Golden Bay, about 25 miles altogether. We ran out of battery after Golden Bay on our way back. I have my Google Maps timeline to prove our mileage. The company insists the battery was full on departure, but we ran out. Does the company think we were drinking the electricity ? I don't understand the logic of that. They charged us 70Euro to recover the vehicle, for their mistake. Furthermore they refused to help us get back, we were left in the middle of nowhere as it got dark with no phone signal. Their communications on Whatsapp were very unhelpful, I have screenshots of these to prove this too.

Dear Paul,
Thanks for your review, however this is so untrue. All our cars are 100% charged when departing our station.
As per contract and as advertised our cars autonomy is up to 80km depending on your driving style, if you overspeed this autonomy will drop. Needless to say the car also has a battery indicator and as one would assume when the battery indicate low you should return back not carry on driving on the other side of the island. For extended duration (We also offer free charging)
It is not the place nor our ways, however we are also very happy to share your data tracking over speeding and driving on with low battery warning on.
Ps your Total autonomy was 38miles.
Our communication was consistent so much so we sent a tow truck to pickup the car out of charge.

Fantastic experience driving this unique car round this amazing island.
The people who provided the car were very helpful and nice to deal with.
This cost €100 for the full day which was a fair price.
The whole experience was incredibly enjoyable and enabled easy parking wherever we stopped due to the compact dimensions of thenTwizy.

A really fun way to spend the day and see some of the sights of Malta. The company were very well organised and professional. The staff gave us a great run through before we left. Plenty of tourist information, places to go and see, some we had not thought of! The self driver mini electric car was easy to drive and a lot of fun. Because it is so well marked the local drivers, which are excellent in Malta anyway, gave us plenty of room to move.....thanks for your patience Maltese drivers! It was a FUN DAY OUT and the driving was tress free!

Apprehensive at first as it was my first time driving on the left side of the road. However, this mode of transportation was so easy to operate that driving on the left side soon became a non-issue. I started out early on a Sunday morning so there was not much traffic and parking was easy in the first 3 places I went to. However, parking became harder to find later in the day. In any case, parking this vehicle would not be as hard as a regular vehicle as it is way smaller than a regular car. I enjoyed the experience and had fun that morning. However, I do not think my wife, had she been with me, would have enjoyed sitting in the back seat in this small vehicle as I, too, would probably not feel comfortable sitting on the small back seat.

Please beware! They took a picture of our credit card before we took cars out. We came back to pay and he told us credit card machine was broke we had to pay cash, they still charged our credit card. So now we double paid.

We had so much fun, definitely worth every penny. The staff are extremely helpful the car is also equipped with everything you can think of, free wifi gps etc.
Definitely worth it the car is easy to drive and park.
