Overview
There are few places in the world where you can actually drive a husky sled through the snow. This sled-driving tour in Tromso puts you in the driver’s seat to steer a husky-led sled through the Norwegian countryside. A guide helps you learn the basics before taking off, so no experience is necessary, and you can warm up afterward with a hot meal by a campfire.
What to Expect
Meet for this Tromso sled-driving tour at the Radisson Blu.

After a short ride over to the countryside, arrive at a dog-sledding center. A guide gives you an orientation on the basics, so you feel confident to get in the driver’s seat.

Out on the snow, take the reins and ride as a bunch of huskies pull your sled. Race at top speeds, and go at the pace you feel most comfortable at.

Make a pit stop at a husky breeding center home to meet cute huskies. The center is home to more than 250 dogs. Before your tour ends, enjoy a traditional Norwegian meal of bidos (reindeer meat, broth, and vegetables) by a campfire. (Vegetarian options are also available).

Your dog-sledding experience ends with a drop-off back at the Radisson Blu in Tromso.

Excellent tour

Beautiful and great tour. Very well organised. The people were super friendly and the dogs were amazingly sweet. We had outstanding weather and the landscapes were just breathtaking.

Thank you for your review Helen, yes the well-fare of our dogs is of utmost importance. Presently it's a little frustrating for them, we're coming to the end of the season and there are fewer tours so they get to run less which they love....More

I wasn't sure about going on this trip as it is not cheap (about £180 GBP), but in truth that is in line with most tours costs in Tromso, and it is absolutely a fantastic experience. The peopel and quide were lovely, and the dogs,...More

Thank you so much, we're aware that it's not the cheapest, however, we believe its good value regardless with plenty of cuddles with our dogs and great guides.

Great experience, worth the money

We joined the self-drive sledding experience and it was simply amazing. We “drove” through the forest with occasional snow falls. Quite magic. Totally recommended!
