About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- I325ZVpaulb0 contributionsGreat and easy tour to start your vacationThe first part of our tour was horse riding. Very relaxed. The young fellas did a great job and I wish them the best! The historical part guy was a little pushy to get a gratitude, which no one likes getting pushed into. Still a 5-star with a room for an improvement. We were extremely lucky with the 2nd part of the tour, Errand Falls, because no one was there. The whole waterfall was just for us to enjoy - and there was much to enjoy, I have to say!Written December 7, 2024
- O9290MDrebeccar0 contributionsPerfect DayCouldn’t have asked for a better Friday and birthday present for my daughter! Andre picked us up at our airbnb, then took us right to the stables for a ride, then waterfalls. His family runs the business and we were lucky enough to have his son and extended family to take us along on the tour. Great to see younger kids run the tour so professionally. The horses were so sweet and kind and knew the trail, giving me full trust of the animal. We got to enjoy fresh coconuts along the beach too! Helmets, snacks, drinks provided. Then the added waterfall adventure!Written August 31, 2024
- Kerbina3840 contributionsEverything in one great tour!I’ve done horseback riding before…. But this was a totally different experience all together. So much better than any where I’ve ridden before. Not just an average horse ride. History, nature, wild life and coconuts!!! The staff are great. Really puts your mind at ease if you’re not experienced. The whole trip was just fabulous. Definitely recommend if you want a real island experience! The waterfall is a must. If you have some time, don’t miss out on the mud baths combo tour.Written July 28, 2024
- Panopscott0 contributionsPlease don’t!!!Horses are not properly cared for and not tame. They put my 7 year old son on a horse that was very upset. While being led by staff the horse bucked up and took off throwing my son from the horse. He ended up falling face first into the rocks. They did give us a refund and paid for our hospital visit, but I would not recomend anyone gets on these horses. They are rode hard and not cared for. Equipment is worn and does not fit the horses or the riders.Written March 29, 2024
- Lesleylola110 contributionsAn Amazing ExperienceMy family and I went horseback riding yesterday! I called early in the morning and easily made a reservation over the phone-which was nice. We had no idea that we would have such an amazing experience. The tour through the jungle was breathtaking and the tour guides were informative- teaching us about the history of the area. The BEST part was when we arrived at the beach. It was beautiful!!! We had time to swim, relax on the beach and just take in the beautiful scenery. They also cracked open coconuts for all of us to drink coconut water. It was my first time on a horse so I was SO afraid but I didn’t want to chicken out and ruin it for my kids. The guide I had guided the horse slowly for me so that I didn’t get scared. I appreciated that so much! When we returned we were provided with cool drinks and fresh bananas from their farm. I’m glad that my family and I got to experience this together. It was a memorable day! We talked about how much we loved it all the rest of the day. I’d definitely do this again and recommend it for anyone who visits St. Lucia.Written December 30, 2023
- Llwynbedw0 contributionsAwesome experience with Keith from East Coast Riding StablesKeith’s driver picked us up at 8:30am from our hotel and we spent the day with both Keith and his driver. The horses were ready for us on arrival Keith took us on a historical tour through the old sugar plantation where we learned all about the history. Then onto riding through the banana plantation where Keith explained all about the growing process of the banana, all very interesting and great places to ride. Then we rode to the beach which was awesome and Keith even climbed a coconut tree to get us both a coconut to drink from and eat the jelly inside! When we got back to the stables Keith and his driver then drove us to the waterfalls then for some food and then to the mud bath. And then they finally drove us around the island of Saint Lucia before dropping us off to our hotel about 5:45pm All in all my husband and I had an absolute amazing day. A big thank you to Keith and his driver. I would highly recommend EAST COAST RIDING STABLES.Written October 22, 2023
- cassiecat120100 contributionsAMAZINGMy husband and I had a FANTASTIC time!! It was more than just your average horseback riding! Keith was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable, attentive and was amazing with the horses! We went through a rainforest, plantations (where Keith picked an array of fresh fruit for us to try), learned about some history and ended with a beautiful ride on the beach! We had an absolute blast and would recommend this to anyone! Thank you for the awesome tours and memories! We will certainly be back if we are in the area! My husband's horse was Sunshine and my horse was Treasure!Written March 16, 2023
- Carol P0 contributionsThe Best Scenic and Historic Tour on HorsebackMy husband and I recently did a two-hour private riding tour at East Coast Riding Stable. I’m an accomplished lifelong rider and he’s an enthusiastic neophyte. Both of us enjoyed every second with Keith as our guide and Treasure and Justice as our sweet, willing, extraordinarily sure-footed steeds. First: Keith. This young man is simply amazing. Riding is clearly in his blood as he’s as at home on the back of a horse as even the best riders I’ve seen. He has trained his horses expertly, cares for them well, and possesses a vast store of knowledge about St. Lucia’s long history and its flora and fauna that he shares with obvious love and respect for his island. He made sure that we were safe every step of the way and that we were truly enjoying the ride. He explained, in depth and clearly, the intricacies of a mangrove forest, the history of an abandoned sugar mill, the many varieties of fruits, spices, and herbs that grew along the trail that we took. He picked bay and cinnamon for us to see and smell, he picked guavas for us to munch on along the way, he even scurried up a coconut tree to collect several which he then, wielding a machete, topped so that we could drink the milk inside. It was delicious and so thirst-quenching! Keith was clearly in command of the horses as they watched him and quickly obeyed any directions he gave. It was great fun watching his horseback gymnastics – standing straight up on the saddle arms flung to the sky, big smile on his face. His explanation of how the tides affect the beach we rode on were fascinating and his description of what happens to the beach and adjoining forest in a hurricane both captivating and chilling. Mother nature makes fools of us all. Our ride took us to places that we never would have been able to see and experience otherwise. The views from atop the stable’s mountain were breathtakingly beautiful. The terrain was so varied – steep hillsides, streams, a banana plantation, the old sugar mill with buildings long abandoned and silent on all the stories they could tell, the mangroves with their wild roots plunging from branches straight into the forest floor, the long stretch of beach with the sea tempting the horses to wade and splash (which they happily did). The two hours we spent on horseback with Keith are among those that we’ll never forget and will recount over and over to friends and family. Every inch, every minute was simply wonderful. When our ride was over, we handed over our sweet mounts and were delighted to find cold water and a bunch of bananas waiting for us. Those bananas were, hands down, the most flavorful I’ve ever tasted – absolutely delicious. Thirst quenched and well-bananaed, we climbed into our driver’s (Andre) van with Keith and headed to the waterfall. After a fairly quick drive, we hiked down a short hillside to find a pool of clear, cold water at the base of a spectacular, incredibly high waterfall. Keith and Andre had brought along towels in case we wanted to swim or wade further back to view the falls from up close. We’re in our 70s, and after a two-hour ride, we were both a bit to tuckered out to swim, but enjoyed watching Keith as he jumped right in. Our time with Keith and astride his horses, and at the waterfall, was the epitome of what a combination tour should be. We loved it, would do it again in a heartbeat, and encourage anyone even remotely interested to treat yourself to this wonderful experience. Go for it!Written February 1, 2023
- TeaJaySee0 contributionsFantastic 2 Hour Horse RideGreat ride through banana plantation down to the beach. Guide gave us fresh fruit off the trees on way down. Saw so many different fruits. Well worth drive from Rodney Bay to see another part of the island. Very good value compared to those that were nearer to us too.Written January 28, 2023
- X8706BAamyc0 contributionsAmazing local experience!!We had a great time with Keith on our private horseback ride! It was myself, my husband, and my mom. My mom and I had never rode a horse before, but Keith made us feel so comfortable. We all learned so much about how to ride and control the horses. The ride was pretty intense - lots of up’s and downs, rocks, mud, but was totally worth it!! It was beautiful and we learned so much about the island and the area. When we arrived at the beach, Keith climbed a coconut tree and got us all coconuts to enjoy. We rode for about 2 hours and then Andre and his son took us to the beautiful waterfall. We had a blast! I loved that we had a private transfer to and from the place and the entire ride and waterfall was private as well. Highly recommend!!Written January 25, 2023
- Z6246IEdouglash0 contributionsNovice or experience well worth the tripFantastic trip for the day! Whether you know how to ride or not they take time to make you feel comfortable. The trail is rocky but the beach is well worth the trip. The people are wonderful and the waterfall is a must!Written January 14, 2023
- D8105NDsandyc0 contributionsHave a time! This was an awesome experience… get out and see St. Lucia! Learn about the history, fruit & spice produce, and see & taste some amazing things. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Do this tour. Go see some sights you won’t see anywhere else on the island!Written December 22, 2022
- DeanOlya0 contributionsThe best day! Dont miss this one. From the moment Andre picked us up until the moment he dropped us off over 7 hrs later we had the best time. Andre drove us from the royalton to the stables on the Atlantic coast at Dennery. A lovely safe drive, with plenty of information about St Lucia, friendly and very knowledgable. Arrrival at stables we met our horse man, Keith, a wonderfully laid back Rasta, with an obvious love for his horses and his environment. I was given Pinky and my wife had Sunshine. Two wonderful horses both with their own personalities. The ride starts by going down the cliff side towards the ocean, with such wonderful views and so much info from Keith. Through an old plantation from the slave trade, which made us think about how terrible things had been done, all in the name of profit. Then we rode through a banana plantation, through the local village nd then down onto the beach. Wow, the Atlantic was powerful this day so we were unable to ride in the sea but we rode along the beach and back into the forest, crossing a creek on the way and back up the cliffside to the stables. Drinks and fresh fruits waiting for us - wonderful. After saying goodbye to our trusty steeds we were taken by Andre and Kieth to Dennery waterfall, a beautiufl fall tucked away in the rainforest, to find a large number of locals were celebrating someones birthday at the fall and we were greeted like old friends, having beers given to us and offers of food. It was an amazing feeling to be with the locals and feel the real heart of St Lucia. After dropping Kieth back at the stables we had a fantastic relaxing ride back across the island to the Hideaway. Over 7hrs with the nicest people, two beautiful horses and the heart of St Lucia... I highly recommend this trip and with Andre and Keith you will see why we fell in love with Saint Lucia and her people. There are so many photos but TripAdvisor will not upload large files, so if anyone can suggest how to get large files from a digital SLR onto our review I will put more photos.Written November 14, 2022
- kimistryt170 contributionsBook it! You won’t be disappointed! We were picked up at our hotel and taken to meet Keith, our guide. We traveled on the horses down the mountain, through a creek, through an old sugar mill, through banana/plantain plantation, through town, through the mangroves all the way to the beach. Along the way, Keith picked fresh guava and other fruits and berries for us to sample as well as things for us to smell to see if we could identify what they were. At the beach, he climbed a coconut tree and cut down coconuts to open for us to drink the water inside. He was so knowledgeable and kind. Upon returning to the stable, he had some fresh fruits waiting on us. We then went to a waterfall and were able to get in. They even provided us with towels to dry off. We were then taken back to our hotel! This was one of the best tours we have ever been on! Book it you won’t be disappointed!Written September 24, 2022
- SYDDandTampaRedd0 contributionsHighly RecommendWe had an amazing time. Keith the horse whisperer is absolutely amazing with these horses. He can use his voice to get them to do what he wants. There is no kicking the horses in the stomach or other harsh things other tour guides do. Plus this adventure is the real deal through the jungle! Not super commercial and predictable. You learn and see a lot and it's raw and real. I loved every part of this experience.Written August 28, 2022

We didn’t know what to expect for this excursion and nearly didn’t as we have 3 young children and didn’t want any hassle. We’re so glad we went and had the best time.
Keith and 2 of his helpers expertly guided us along the way and gave us a informative historical tour and the best trip we’ve had over a 17 day period in St. Lucia. Keith rode with our 4 year old and safety looked after him the whole trip! Lots of laughter and fun.
If you are looking for something original and to create memories then this is for you.
Thank you Keith and team.

We had a very nice time riding the horses. Our guide was showing us different plants and fruit trees during the tour. We saw ruins of sugar plantation and spent some time at the beach. We had nice conversations and he was eager to answer our questions. We even had a great treat- he chopped coconuts for us, so we had coconut water. Horses look healthy and well taken care of. The tour was supposed to last 2 hrs, but it went waaay beyond that. We appreciate that there was no rush and the guide spent more time with us. We spent 2 weeks on the island snorkeling almost every day, so horseback riding tour was a good change and a very fun way to spend half of the day. Thank you for giving us good impressions and memories!

The views were beautiful, on our ride! Our guides were very knowledgeable and patient. I was definitely taken out of my comfort zone! I have ridden a lot of horses, but this trip challenged me! It was raining, so the rocks were slippery for the horses and the mud was pretty deep in places. I had to really hold on a few times. But it was really fun going through the rainforest, to the old sugar mill and down to the beach. Stunning views with lots of opportunities for taking pictures.
We were picked up at the marina in Marigot Bay and really enjoyed our car ride. Riki gave us lots of history and information about St. Lucia. He was very interesting and knowledgeable as well. If you like to ride, this is a fun way to see a different perspective of the island.

The whole experience was awesome! Horses were well trained and easy riding. So much history around the plantation. Andre, our taxi, was incredibly knowledgeable and very kind and even went the extra mile for us and stopped by a grocery for us on the way back to our hotel. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Making the arrangements were easy to do. The staff was very friendly, from the person who took and made the arrangements, to our driver, and Keith our tour guide. They picked us up promptly from the Pidgeon Island Levee and brought us to stables. It was quite a ride to the stables. However, we went through the mountain rainforests. It was grand. The horses were waiting for us upon our arrival. They were meek and obedient. Keith gave us some instructions on riding and maneuvering the horse, as it was my first experience. The views along the ride were breath taking. We took a saunter through a banana plantation and then to the beach. It was the high light of the ride. Throughout the ride Keith gave us information about the island and sites we were seeing about our ride. We had a great day and it was a special way to see the island.
