Overview
Kealakekua Bay, home to the Captain Cook Monument, is located on the coast of Kona and only accessible by boat or hiking. On this tour, take a relaxing lunch or dinner cruise to the hard-to-reach spot and enjoy the included Hawaiian-style buffet, cocktail, and live entertainment.
What to Expect
Your cruise begins at the Kailua Pier where you board the boat for a 12-mile journey down the Kona coastline. Sit back and relax as a local historian shares stories about the landmarks you pass on the way to the Captain Cook Monument.
Upon arrival, enjoy a cocktail from the fully stocked bar and an island-style buffet. A typical buffet includes fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, salads and local breads for appetizers. For entrees enjoy kalua pork and cabbage, braised beef brisket, BBQ chicken, or veggie rice pilaf. Make sure to save room for dessert and Kona coffee. Additional cocktails are available for purchase.
Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, manta rays, and seasonal humpback whales. Take in the sites of Ahu'ena Heiau, Keauhou Holua Slide, and Kuamo’o Battlefield as you sail back to the pier.

Nothing special except for the music

The crew was great. Bula Akamu was the musician on the night we went. Bula is an amazing artist and his talent made the trip worth while. The food was terrible. How can you ruin rice or 3 bean salad? Nasty. The boat was clean...More

There are seats on two decks and appeared to allow 50-70 passengers, but perhaps significantly more, as there was room for more to sit at the tables on our trip.

The cruise is for dinner, leaving at 4pm and returning after 7pm and has a limited number of days of the week. I don’t know the schedule or location of the NCL visit in Kona.

The boat brings you close to the monument and you eat dinner while in the bay, with clear views of the monument, but you do not dock and approach the monument (as you can by hiking the 2.5 mile walk to get there from the... More
