Fantastic setting to sample the excellent wines of the Chianti region. Francisco was knowledgable, informative and approachable. Was lovely to see the vineyards and cellar before the tasting with an overview on the production of the wine. A highlight of our trip to Tuscany and great value! Thanks guys

It’s a paradise for wine lovers.
It was an amazing experience with a wonderful staff. All the people was friendly and at the end they recommended us a pleasant place for lunch. The wine tour was very informative and with a lot of wine degustation, we tasted everything and it was very delicious.

A great experience in a pretty Chianti setting
You like wine but you don't know that much about it's origins, the process or the specifics about flavours; after a tasting at this beautiful and welcoming fattoria you continue your life as a semi-pro! All thanks to the great tour you get, an eye-opening experience. And the wine is sublime. Thanks a lot, Montemaggio. Hope to drink you soon

A beautiful place and a great experience!
Make sure to visit this wonderful, small, organic winery in the countryside in Chianti near Radda. You are welcomed and shown around by the very friendly and informative winemakers themselves and the wine is amazing! Also no need to worry about COVID-19 precautions - everything is considered and tanken care of. Thank you from the three danes.

      One day in Chianti
I've visited Fattoria di Montemaggio with two friends, and the three of us were amazed by the beauty of this place (even though we are Italian guys, used to breathtaking landscapes). We were led through the vineyards and the vegetable garden, surrounded by magnificent nature, and as we walked we were explained the main steps to grow vines, to trim them and to select from them the very best grapes in order to produce high-quality wines; but there was more: we learnt a lot about Chianti, and about the techniques to obtain sustainable and organic food. Then came the moment for the wine tasting, when the guide showed us the proper gestures to enjoy a good glass of wine. We tasted six different bottles, and we ended with a little glass of grappa. Everybody from the staff was extremely kind, and helped us at choosing the best local trattoria for having lunch: it goes without saying the suggested restaurant was great. I strongly recommend to pay a visit to Fattoria di Montemaggio: it's an experience summing up the true essence of Tuscany.

Highlight of our Chianti winery tour
Our driver arranged a visit here that included a comprehensive tour and tasting. Ilara was easy to understand and so friendly and engaging. She has a passion for this! It was a memorable day, and I cannot wait to return. They have cooking and painting classes plus one can stay there too. We shipped a case home. Fortunately a local wine store, Total Wine , is selling their Chianti Classico , and I bought a case before my state’s stay at home order.

      Best Chianti Classico in Tuscany
This is the BEST vineyard I've visited in a long while. They have a gorgeous villa for rent and a wonderful staff. The wine pairings and cooking classes were exceptional as was the organic food and wine. I would highly recommend this vineyard and tour to anyone who loves wine.

The BEST Wine Tour On The Planet
Everything about Montemaggio is exceptional. From the staff to the vineyards to the wines. I stayed in the exquisite and lush farmhouse for three days and it was like heaven on earth. No detail was left unattended and the owner Valeria and business manager Ilaria were the perfect hosts. I would recommend Montemaggio to anyone who wants the perfect experience in Tuscany.

Wine at its best. Amazing winery experience!
During our last trip to Italy we visited several wineries and also had several bottles shipped home. Fattoria di Montemaggio was a very special place we got to know during this trip. Our expereince there was absolutely amazing, we loved the way they produce their wine, the cozy and friendly atmosphere this small winery provides to visitors, and the extraordinary staff working there. We had one of the best experiences ever while visiting this winery. A must go for everyone who loves wine!

      AMAZING visit!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time. It was the best day of our trip in Tuscany. If you are thinking about visiting a winery, Fattoria di Montemaggio should be first on your list!! You should also consider the “Chic-nic” option for lunch! It was a very nice addition!!

Authentic, intimate and the REAL taste of Chianti
My girlfriend and I have just had the best wine tasting and tour of this smaller boutique wine producer. They may be smaller but the attention to the wine picking, production was clear on the tour. Then we got to try 8 different wines with Eduardo who was very informative on the wines which made the tasting more interesting compared to others where they just give you the basic facts of age, grape and barrel info. Would recommend if looking for more authentic intimate experience compared to the bigger producers.

      Amazing
We stumbled onto this winery thru Trip Advisor which is why it’s so important to leave reviews. We had a car and the road on google maps did make us question if we would find it (we found out don’t use shortest route!). But we arrived with no appointment and simply said May we come in. We were greeted by the manager and given our own personal tour. Eduardo the wine maker did most of it and was so wonderful. We learned so much! The wine itself was a learning (who would have thought Chianti Classico would be so unique). We highly recommend this tour. It’s not just your average big place but small and personal.

This was our 2nd visit to Montemaggio and I wrote a review on Trip Advisor back in 2019. That was a beautiful day spent with family and friends. Since that visit in 2016, the wines that Montemaggio produces continue to be a part of our dinners, BBQs, happy hours, get togethers, etc.

The staff at Montemaggio are wonderful people. They are knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and just know how to make everyone feel welcomed and included. You combine that with the most breathtaking views in Chianti/Tuscany and you will want to come back again and again!

This time around we booked a lunch with a tasting. What a wonderful day! Greeted again by Francesco, the lunch of meats, cheeses, bruschettas, and pasta combined with the wonderful array of Montemaggio wines— so good. Francesco is impressively knowledgeable about wine, the region, etc. My 15 and 17 yr old are not wine drinkers yet of course but Francesco was so engaging and friendly, plus the views, my kids had a great time too.

This small picturesque winery is literally a diamond in the rough. When in Chianti, you will have a great time tasting wine. Montemaggio has an assortment of experiences that they offer. We will someday return to Tuscany, we will be returning!

We've visited many wineries in the U.S., Italy and Spain, but this was probably the best and most informative winery experience we've ever had. Sometimes wineries will use tasting room people to conduct their tours, but here we got Ilaria, who manages the winemaking estate and is intimately familiar with every aspect of it. We learned so much about grape-growing and winemaking from her, while wandering among the vines and fermenting tanks and aging barrels.
We basically signed up for the triple crown of the visitor's experience: a winery tour and tasting, a special blind tasting with Ilaria, and a picnic that the winery provides (with a bottle we purchased to accompany it, of course). They combined to make the visit particularly memorable. The setting was beautiful, too.
The tour was small -- six people. Each couple had its own table for the tasting, to maintain social distancing.
    Reservation is a must.

An absolutely glorious afternoon in Chianti - Francesco is a friendly master of his craft! He is invested not only in everyone’s enjoyment of the estates wines but in everyone’s understanding of how to taste wine in general. It was like a mini class wrapped up in a tasting and you could feel his passion. Would absolutely recommend this small winery to anyone visiting Chianti

A very nice experience! Although the road to the vineyard is a somewhat difficult to drive, the view is completely worth it. You first get a tour about how and where the wine is made and we found that very interesting. Then you go to the terrace which is located between the vineyards, so your view is exceptional. We were allowed to taste 7 wines and heard the story about each wine. Would recommend this experience 10/10.

Me and my fiancé had the most amazing wine tasting with Francesco. We were given a walk through the vineyard and cellar first and then finished with these beautiful wines of the region.
Francesco was so passionate about everything and his knowledge was superb.
We would definitely recommend having a trip to Montemaggio - so worth it!

We had an amazing experience! The wine as well as the tour were great and our guide seemed very passionate about his work. You can only reach the vineyard via a gravel road as it is a bit secluded. Don't get discouraged if the road gets a bit rocky!

Although the winery is difficult to reach requiring some driving on dirt roads, the extra effort is rewarded by the tour with the winery manager who is an agronomist and the wine-maker. She gives great information on how the grapes and wine are produced and is of course very knowledgeable about their vintages. She is warm and welcoming and is very interested in making the experience wonderful for everyone.

What a wonderful, wonderful place. The road to the villa is terrible, dirt and rocks the last 6 kilometers but after that the experience is marvelous. The explanation of the growing and wine making process ‘‘twas the best we experienced in Tuscany.

The wine itself was excellent and their n site olive oil was the best!!

I highly recommend a visit and add the pic nic so a truly special experience
