Bambu Tours ~ Don’t do it (Chichen Itza, Vallodolid, & Cenote)
Booked a tour via Viator the day before online. I was contacted by Raul from Bambu Tours a couple hours later. I was told we would meet at security gate at Golden Parnassus at 7:10 AM, since we were at an Airbnb close by. We waited over an hour and when the van finally arrived it had one seat for my family of 4. It also reeked of gas inside the van. I ordered my wife and daughter out of the van and texted Raul back who just stated it was not his fault. I’ve began the process of refund but who knows...I’m in Mexico. Never again. It was very disappointing to wake up so early for nothing and to know you won’t be seeing one of the 7 wonders. You just wonder why?

    Over promised; under delivered
We were sold on the idea of a full day whale shark excursion that stopped at Isla Mujeres for lunch and ceviche. I feel dooped by the tourism racquet in Mexico. While we got this basic set of activities, the experience was not worth the money and the service was extremely poor. Once we saw the whale shark, we were hurried back in the boat. Each team had two turns. “Lunch” was served quickly afterward while driving to the Isla Mujeres. It was a half cheese sandwich and mini coke. No water. Our time at Isla Mujeres was a quick 30 minutes anchor to snorkel in a choppy area by reefs. Didn’t get to swim in the turquoise waters, which is what this island is known for. The ceviche was cooked fish mixed with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, parsley and lime served in a bowl with tortilla chips. It tasted like salsa with cooked fish. We were told we’d be gone until 7 pm, but returned 4 hours early. We bought this tour from: DIEGO JONATHAN HERNANDEZ TELLEZ ∙ Dignan 85 nte m64 L9 juarez y 2, MX 77620 Solidaridad ∙ +52 322 229 3683 ∙ showdefuego10@gmail.com ∙ RFC/CURP: HETD841118HDFRLG03 Overall, the tours are a racquet! Thought we found a trustworthy company, but they send you to another company and that company tries charging additional taxes. Watch out!

    Do not book! Buyer beware!
This was a complete rip off. I bought 3 tickets I never got my email with my tickets but was i was charged the 200$. In addition they reached out to me via what's up app telling where to meet ( which seemed odd). BEWARE...They do not pick up at your hotel as advertised. They will ask u to meet by a night club in play for carmen but adverse the trip is from play del carmen, does not say if you stay outside of Cancun you will not get hotel pick up service. When I asked for a refund feeling now unsafe, they told me they would request a refund and apologized ( I saved the conversation) but the refund never came, I tried to dispute with viator and provided the conversation and they did not respond ..I lost 200$! DO NOT BOOK...Buyer Beware!!!! Pick another company!!! Never Again!!

    Wasted Day
You're a captive audience and they treat you like one. The food was the worst food I've ever had traveling (and I love the food in Mexico), the tours (supposedly 1 hour) were ~20 minutes of information + 40 minutes of walking followed by 60 minutes of "free time", the cenote was a sad little fixture in the back of their dining area, the dude at the actual booking site was rude. Basically you're paying for bus rides - either book with another company, or just get an ADO bus and hire a tour guide at the sites; you'll have a MUCH better experience.

    Trip to isla mujeres
This day trip was great. We were on the boat called the Induna with a super live fun crew. After sailing the beautiful turquoise sea we went snorkeling and enjoyed a party on the boat. We had lunch on another island which was a delicious buffet. I would definitely recommend this cruise for couples, family’s, friends and anyone looking for a great time

Do not believe the tour heading as advertised
The tour CLEARLY stated that we were purchasing a "CATAMARAN TOUR TO MUJERES ISLAND FROM PLAYA DEL CARMEN". This is NOT what was received. We ended up boarding a shuttle with several other people and were DRIVEN to CANCUN. We specifically booked this tour because of the description. Still had an ok time, but didn't like the crammed shutted for an hour each way. Also, make sure you plan for additional fees upon arrival.

Bought tickets to Xcaret and XPlor
As we were walking back to Playacar we passed by Bambu Tours to ask about prices and transport to Xcaret and Xplor. The service was very good, we got a great price on a package to visit both parks that included bus transport to/from our hotel and lunch at the park. I'd warmly recommend getting your tour tickets from Bambu Tours.

This trip is not as advertised!
We were looking forward to this trip on New Years Eve but it was not as advertised! Our driver picked us up on time and we arrived in Cancun and were quickly escorted away by a "salesman" who tried to upgrade us by telling us we had only paid for the "premium" trip but we could go on the "premier" trip if we wanted, we would get everything on the "premium" but we would be on a nicer Catamaran and go to a different / better beach club for lunch. Since there was no option given when we booked the trip, we stuck with what we purchased. The Catamaran was comfortable despite the waters being rough during our trip. The crew were all very nice and brought us drinks, helped people move to different areas of the boat, etc. Due to the rough waters those who were not strong swimmers stayed on the boat and did not snorkel. We arrived on the Island and were told we needed to go to a particular store to receive our wrist bands showing we had paid our entrance fee. There were restrooms there and they provided you with cold water or a taste of tequila if you wanted it. But of course they wanted you to purchase items in their store. We had about an hour and a half in this area, then returned to the boat to head over to the beach club for lunch. When we arrived at the beach club we were told that the lunch was included as well as soft drinks, but the alcohol was not included. During lunch I questioned our guide and he said that only the alcohol on the boat was included despite what the description of the trip said. A short time later he came back to us and said we would need to return on a different boat since we were going back to Play del Carmen and not staying in Cancun. The club was nice with plenty of chairs to relax in and a few water activities to enjoy. The food was just ok and most of it was lukewarm. I stuck with the chicken and a salad but my husband tried almost everything. Unfortunately he was sick as a dog about eight hours later and it lasted for 24 hours. The ride back was fine, but again, it was on on the Catamaran we came on and it was not with the original crew or guests we went with. Our diver was there to pick us up and said we needed to go right away, everyone was waiting for us. The ride back was terrible, a few younger kids who were drunk and vomiting. Since we were crammed in the van like sardines, I wasn't able to get into our backpack to get a tip for the driver, so when we exited the van at our destination, we did not have any money in our hands. He then asked my husband "where is my tip?" Of course we planned on tipping but to have someone actually ask us for his tip, I though was not right. This is not the trip if you want a relaxing day, it started off with a "time share" type sales technique, then once on the island we were shuffled into a store where we had a hard time getting out of because everyone was trying to sell is again. Once at the beach club we were told your alcohol is not included despite the description of the trip, then we were shuffled over to another boat to return home. Then our driver stood there with his hand out. Unfortunate because the other trips we've booked have all been really good!

    These Guys We're The Best
We had a great time going to Chichen Itza. The food, stops, service on the bus and the amount of information given to us by the tour guides was incredible. I'm definitely looking for this company next time I visit Playa Del Carmen or Cancun.

First time visitors to Mexico - sorted!
We had a "to do" list but the tour operators excursion costs were extortionate for a family of 3. We always prefer to book local but were overwhelmed by choice in Playa del Carmen, but at a loss over who to hand over our hard earned wages to. We probably picked this company because they werent touting for business and from the off, Francisca was warm, knowledgable and we felt reassured. We booked Chichen Itza, Tulum & Coba, Xcaret and fishing through her. She had been on these trips herself so could manage our expectations and offer advice. She kept in touch with us via Whats App to confirm arrangements and times etc. First class service. We also saved a lot compared to the high end tour operator prices which enabled to spend more on local shopping, helping the local economy rather than paying big bucks to big corporations. Recommended.

    Christian came through
We had another company fall through on reservations, we were walking down 10th ave talking about our disappointment. And then we met Christian, he helped us set up all our tours for a party of six and even met us and make sure our pick ups happen without a hitch. Great experience, friendly staff, great excursions. Thank you for helping to make this one of the best vacations ever!!!!
