      A great adventure
With the two lads (19&21) we hired the full pack of two lightweight canoes (2 man and one man) and everything we needed for three days including food. It was challenging canoeing forst to teepee lake the tom thomson lake where we found an island campsite. Id guess we did 15-20 miles over three days. Brillant experience.

A priceless experience - you will have no regrets
Unbelievable experience, my second time with this company. They are well organized, the trips are well planned and safe, and the guides go that extra mile. I checked into them and all their guides are fully certified and the company is fully insured which gave me that extra level of comfort. The meals were delicious and the activities were great, getting up at the crack of dawn to see moose was tough but well worth it when we finally saw one. It is so nice having everything set up for you. There was a bit of cleanup from meals to participate but that just helped us gel as a group. I would suggest a third set of clothes (despite the one in the pack one on your back guideline in the website), especially for the four or five day trips (and especially if you get some rain). Also your shoes will definitely get wet pulling canoes in and out of the water so maybe bring a 3rd pair. Overall a great experience. Some experiences are truly priceless and this is one of them. You will have no regrets at the end of the tour.

      Best in the Biz
We used Algonquin Outfitters to help supply equipment for our four day three night. Canoe trip in Algonquin Park. As a result of a lot of stormy weather, we came out of the back country early and were able to secure a refund for the equipment not used for our last night. As well, we were able to make a last-minute arrangement to stay in an Algonquin Park campground in lieu of back country. All of this transition was done smoothly and seamlessly, and the customer service was amazing. Highly recommend anyone who is looking to do a trip that does not have all the necessary equipment to take advantage of the outfitting, the Algonquin Outfitters has to offer.

      Beautiful nature with terrific guide
Jamie was the perfect guide for our group. We had campers of widely varied skill and experience levels, and he was able to observe our individual strengths and weaknesses and tailor the experience so that we all had a good time. Collectively, we changed our itinerary, and what could have been a moment of conflict was smooth and easy. I was impressed. We saw two moose, and several beavers, herons, and loons. Jamie knew a lot of interesting things about the plants and animals, which made everything even more enjoyable. The food was surprisingly good. Also, the gear provided was great. We had about a 12-hour stretch of hard rain, and our tents and sleeping bags stayed warm and dry. I would suggest campers bring DEET repellant. The mosquitos were rough on some people, but with DEET and the bug jackets, most of us were fine. I, a camping wimp, can say I had a good time.

      Canoe adventure
Jamie was our guide on this trip and he managed the group and excursion exceedingly well. Everybody was included and participated according to their abilities and their energy. This is a canoe safary and we saw plenty of wildlife, our guide’s comments and explanations enriched the experience. The food was tasty, varied and plentyful. We had mixed weather, but soon this ceased to matter. Jamie’s doing! Personally, I would have enjoyed a bit more historical context on the region. Possibly an idea for the future. A great experience and lots of fun! Alan & Antoinina

Positive energy boost from Algonquin Outfitters to start a memorable paddle
We went out on a 4 day canoe trip into Algonquin Park in mid July and loved it. The bugs weren't all that bad and the weather was beautiful (only one night of rain). The views were wonderful and we really enjoyed the paddling and (sort of) the portaging. We saw a moose and paid our respects at the Tom Thompson memorial. But the real reason I wanted to take the time to write this review was to pass on our experience with Algonquin Outfitters. It was wonderful - really, about the best I could imagine. We rented three canoes plus two of us were coming from farther away and, so, rented the deluxe equipment package (taking in our own food). Signing up for all of this was very easy and done on-line in advance. The equipment itself was in great shape and there was everything we needed (including a tarp with long ropes attached to each corner, making it very easy to put up). But what really made the experience great was the people. We arrived in the rain, wondering a bit whether we had made a mistake going at this time, but we were met with smiling, helpful people. They walked us through all of our equipment and provided helpful tips about the route, all in a relaxed way with a lot of laughs. Their positive energy was exactly what we needed to get us out on the water in a good mood. Finally, one small note on routes. We did a loop up to Tom Thompson lake then over to Sunbeam Lake , to Burnt Island lake and then back to Canoe Lake. The first day (to Tom Thompson) and the last day (from Burnt Island back) were amazing, with lots of nice paddling and easy portages. The second and third days, though, seemed more like a portage trip than a canoe trip. I would look for a route with a higher ratio of canoeing to portaging next time. That route, though, was our decision and in spite of all the portaging, we all loved the trip and being out there in the wilds. I recommend doing this and doing it with Algonquin Outfitters in the strongest possible terms.

First Class Tour of Canoe Lake
My three hour solo VIP canoe tour with Stuart exceeded all expectations. He knows every square centimetre of Canoe Lake and its environs from North to South, East to West. Stuart provided well-timed commentary and historical tidbits at every turn, displaying a vast wealth of knowledge about the water, the land, and the wildlife. I came away from my tour with a deep appreciation of Canoe Lake and Algonquin Park - all thanks to Stuart. The experience was so enriching, I am already planning another trip back to the Park for another tour with Stuart -- only this time I'm bringing family along with me. I cannot recommend Stuart and his company enough. A first class operation all the way.

      Extremely Grateful!!!
Stuart was great in planning the trip for us and he had one of his guides, Andrew, take us on our 3 day trip. Andrew was professional, knowledgeable, and a great person to spend 3 days with camping. He made sure we got to spend the 3 days the way we wanted and still kept us well fed, safe, and happy. I definitely would recommend Andrew and Algonquin tours. Stuart was extremely nice, accomodating, and respectful. He was able to find halal meat for all our meals which I was truly happy about. He even found vegan marshmallows for us which is absolutely phenomenal. Thank you Stuart for making our trip so enjoyable and our first time camping a one to remember.

      An incredible experience
I just wanted to write to say thank you for an incredible safari in Algonquin. The tour far surpassed my expectations in terms of wildlife, challenge and enjoyment. Had incredibly intimate viewing of moose and beaver as well as a wide array of other wildlife including black bear. The camping side of things was also fantastic: stunning locations and surprisingly good food. A huge shout out to Ben, my tour guide, who could not have been a more helpful, friendly and fun guide. I feel like he bent over backwards to give me the best experience possible and I am so grateful for that. Be aware, the mosquitos love the taste of an Englishman (and maybe others) so don’t estimate them as I did. It is also a challenging paddle: I really appreciated the challenge and was glad for it, but don’t be naive into thinking it will be easy! Would 100% go again. Thank you!

      Found Moose
Ok so the guide really knows his stuff. He knows the park, the lakes, the wildlife and can be a great guide. He found us 2 MOOSE, painted turtles, bull frogs, birds, nests and beaver dams. The problem is he is racist and not a nice guy. My advice, take the tour… it is totally worth every penny. But, as you motor back to the takeout, unless you are die hard racist, put your earbuds in or pretend you are asleep.

Amazing experience in Algonquin Provincial Park
5-Day Tour: The ultimate Camping and Canoeing Experience! From seeing astonishing wildlife like beavers, moose and snapping turtles (even from up close) to postcard-worthy landscapes we experienced all we hoped for and more. Doing pre-breakfast canoe tours to watch wildlife, having time to chill in the hamock, eating surprisingly good freshly cooked meals and hearing loon calls in the tent at night. This was the quitessentiell back to nature experience for us (including the mosquito-struggle). Thanks to our guide Jamie, we felt save at all times and learned a lot about the park, Canada and nature! Highly recommended! Verena & Josh

      An unforgettable adventure!
I can not express enough how fantastic this trip was! Jamie was an exceptional guide. Very knowledgeable, educational and very fun! Besides seeing the moose and cliff diving, I’d say the highlight of the trip were all the songs we sang, whistled and hummed. Singing sea shanty’s while paddling was the best! Overall I was very impressed with the service and the trip in total. Very reasonably priced for what is included and I would highly highly recommend! And I can’t speak for the other guides, I am sure they are fantastic as well, but I would also highly recommend Jamie. Again, he was very knowledgeable and eager to teach us and tell us things and was very fun to be around. We all felt bad when he was caring for us because we stopped seeing him as a guide and instead a friend who was part of the adventure. 10 out of 5 stars!

      2023 Outstanding June Canoe trip!
My son and I did the three-day trip with Jamie as our guide. This trip was perfect, my son and I talked about this trip all the way home, mostly about how much fun we had and that we couldn't believe how much wildlife we saw. Our guide. Jamie was very well prepared for our six person group we were with, the food he brought for our trip. I never expected to have on a camping trip. He was very well educated to know where to take us canoeing to see moose, beavers, fishing, and cliff diving. Lol. For a first time canoeing trip, my son and I had an excellent time and we're already talking about doing again next year and would definitely like to request Jamie as our guide. He really brought the trip together. My son and I thought it would be awkward camping for 3 days with four other people we never met before and the group just gelled right away and we had such a great time. We also learned a lot about canoeing, portaging, paddling, sterning, and sitting quiet to not disturb a moose cow and her young twins. I could continue writing more about our trip, but I think the best thing I can do is return next year and do it again. Thanks again Jamie. We'll done!!!

This trip was a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Algonquin for the first time. Our guide was very pleasant and did a great job with teaching us canoe skills and telling about the history and nature of the area.
The views from the lake and the hiking lookout were gorgeous. We got to see and hear a few loons, but unfortunately did not see other wildlife.
Paddling for hours proved to be a challenging workout that left our arms/shoulders sore until the next day, but it was also fun and fulfilling. We also enjoyed a little swimming and cliff jumping. The lunch served was sizeable and delicious.

Jammie is an excellent tour guide who took us to explore the mysterious bays of Canoe Lake. We were lucky enough to witness moose foraging. Jammie is very talkative and shared with us the history of Algonquin, various plants, and animals along the way. We tasted freshly grown wild strawberries. It was a truly delightful tour, and I hope to have the opportunity to go camping together again.

It was a great experience canoeing with Stuart, the owner and guide. He had lots of interesring facts and camp knowledge to share during the breaks as well as fantastic sandwiches to top it off!

Would definitely recommend this tour as the scenery is spectacular and you won’t regret it. However be prepared to work for this rewarding experience - wet feet and sore arms! 5/5

Excellent outing for the family - 5 of us including three teenagers. Would recommend to anyone. About 2 or 2 1/2 paddling but split up into sections not much longer than 15 minutes. Good attention to safety and technique. Frequent chance to drink, rest and take in the beautiful surroundings. Stuart was obviously passionate and knowledgeable about the history and wildlife in the area. We all enjoyed the views, the rock jump and seeng a moose on the way home. Just the right balance of effort and reward. With three teenagers really nice to spend almost a whole day with them and no electronic devices.

The tour consists of 15 to 20 minutes of paddling sessions followed by some resting periods where we listened to our amazing guide, Brian, explaining the history of the park, watched wildlife in canoe, had lunch, swam, hiked, and watched an extraordinary view of the park on top of a hill.
Brian was the perfect guide. He is knowledgeable, passionate, kind and funny.
The tour is very well planned and I highly recommend it.

We had a great day on the water and learned a lot about Algonquin Park, saw some great scenery and wildlife. Stuart was an excellent guide and we appreciated his passion for Algonquin, and the local knowledge that he shared with us. Be prepared to work hard on the Canoeing front but it's worth it to see some great spots we would not have found on our own. Food was great too. Thanks for a great day.

We had a great day out with Andrew as our guide. Everything was well organised, as expected there was plenty of paddling, Andrew was very good at telling us about not just the wildlife but also the ancient and recent history of the people and industries as well as a few local stories. We had a tasty sandwich lunch, time for some cliff jumping and to top it all we managed to spot moose!

I had a memorable canoe trip with my girlfriend on her birthday. The staff was friendly and informative. The scenery was amazing and serene. We received excellent pictures for the day, and our guide Gavin even helped us paddle for 6 hours! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have some fun outdoors in the fresh air for the day.
