A delightful 3-hour cruise on Sydney Harbour with the friendly crew of the 1902 steam tug Waratah.
Aug. 2019
5 of us spent a delightful 3 hours aboard the Waratah, a large steam tug built in 1902. We cruised from the Heritage Fleet base at Pyrmont around the bays west and east of the Harbour Bridge. The crew of dedicated men and women, all volunteers, were cheerful and so helpful. We were celebrating a birthday and took champagne and a picnic. Our birthday boy was given a special invitation to the engine room to spend time with the volunteer stoker and see the workings of the engine, which was remarkably quiet and steady. Jennifer gave a running commentary of the history of the tug and the points of interest we were passing. Most fascinating was the fact that the tug had been involved in bringing barges of granite from the Moruya area up to Sydney for the construction of the Harbour Bridge! We felt like a part of history...

Stunning Day on the Lady Hopetoun
Jun. 2019 • Couples
Last weekend we spent the most glorious day on Sydney Harbour. We were lucky enough to be on a very casual but highly informative cruise. The friendly crew members of the Lady Hopetoun made us welcome, we travelled past so many wonderful buildings along the foreshore. Hetti our guide kept us very well informed on all the historic and more modern sights along the way. We would certainly recommend this 3-hours cruise on this wonderful old historic boat.

Best Harbour Cruise Yet
Jun. 2019 • Friends
We were a camera group of 9 people from Gosford. On the Sydney Harbour Secret Cruise on 30-6-19 aboard the 1902 Steam Launch Lady Hopetoun. We arrived early & was given a guided tour of the docks area that was not in out itinerary . All the volunteer staff were very friendly & went out of their way to help & inform us.Especially the gentleman who gave the commentary for 3 hours who was a wealth of information.Even the tea lady was amazing working in such a small area & always a smile on her face. The day was perfect & the weather amazing .We all would thoroughly recommend this trip. Our whole group enjoyed this day & said it was the best Harbour Cruise yet.

Perfect Day for a Cruise
May 2019 • Friends
Sydney put on a perfect day for a cruise around the harbour. We took a picnic lunch and then enjoyed some afternoon tea provided by the Sydney Heritage Fleet. The staff were lovely and we saw Sydney from another perspective with some history thrown in. The Waratah performed beautifully, just chugged along. It was a lovely day.

Revealing Sydney Harbours secrets on the Waratah
Mar. 2019 • Solo
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon on Sydney Harbour.

A very enlightening journey around the harbour unveiling the history of this beautiful place.

The ability to take a picnic hamper with nibbles and a beverage or two only enhances the experience..

A TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE SEEING PLACES FROM THE WATER
Mar. 2019 • Couples
We had this trip on the Waratah, on which we had sailed before. Very impressive crew and a superb commentary from which we learnt a good deal. Everyone should experience a trip like this if they want a different view of Sydney - both locals and visitors.
