Kata Tjuta Sunrise and Valley of the Winds Half-Day Trip
From US$85.01
Overview
Get started bright and early to conquer both Kata Tjuta and the Valley of the Winds in just a half day. Eat a light breakfast while watching the sun come up over the domes of Kata Tjuta as your guide explains their geological and spiritual significance. Take a walk through the Valley of the Winds to get panoramic views from central lookout points. Round-trip transport means you don't have to worry about logistics.
What to Expect
Be ready for early morning pickup at your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation and then relax and enjoy the scenery on the ride to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Arrive at Kata Tjuta in time to catch the sunrise over the 36 domes while eating a light breakfast. Your guide will fill you in on their geological origins and the reasons they are sacred to the Anangu people. Snap photos of the sun coming up over the red sandstone formations from the vantage point of the western dune viewing area. Set off on a guided walk through the Valley of the Winds, stopping at the Karu and Karingana lookouts for panoramic views. Use the time to ask your guide any questions about this ancient and sacred area.

Return to your accommodations by midday, which leaves the afternoon free for other activities.

Kata Tjuta is awesome

Valley of the Winds is the best walk at Kata Tjuta and Uluru. AAT Kings have great knowledgeable guides and the ice cold towel to wipe yourself with after a hike in very hot temperatures is just what you need. And the brekky bag for...More

I highly recommend this trip; specifically the sunrise tour. You will get there before most of the heat of the day; hiking shortly after sunrise was very comfortable (the heat later would've been terrible). The tour is one of the first to get there. For...More

worth the walk

another early start but worth it. A stop to watch the sunrise with views to Kata Tjuta and Uluru. We did not see a good sunrise but that is the chance you take. A quick bite then onto the Valley of winds. The weather was...More

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Uluru. We were picked up quite early (4.55am!) to get to the sunrise viewing platform in time for sunrise and were the first tour group to arrive. Michael and Verdel were excellent and helped...More

Beautiful peaceful trip 💕

I travelled on my own and never once did I feel alone or awkward, everyone was so comforting and friendly ! The walk was moderate difficultly, easier than Kings Canyon Rim Walk and the Ayers Rock climb. The scenery is awesome, so different to anything...More

Hi Jimmy. This tour is mostly on tracks which are rough underfoot. Your friend may choose to take the option of only walking to the first lookout, which is uphill on a dirt track, but not steps. The rest of the track is much... More
