What to Expect
After pickup from your Cairns hotel, set out on the around 1-hour drive into the Atherton Tablelands region. Start your tour by with an afternoon walk through the rainforest, looking out for tropical birds, butterflies, and flying fox bats. Stop to admire natural wonders including ancient kauri pine trees, the Curtain Fig Tree, and the Barrine crater lake, then enjoy afternoon tea at the lakeside teahouse.

A Biologist's Dream

I have studied animals all my life, but this tour showed me how truly unique and interesting the flora and fauna of Australia truly are. The punctual hotel pick up was a good start. I could not have asked any more of Paul, an excellent...More

I am so glad you got to see the Platypus and the Riflebird was a big bonus! I can never guarantee what we see but this is one of the best places in Australia for wildlife spotting so we always see something! Thanks for the...More

This is a very different tour.

Most of the available tours around Cairns are the usually expected ones. Not this one. For nature lovers, this one is interesting because it includes night time nature walks and 80% of Australia's wildlife is active at night. Paul know his stuff and you come...More

Great Tour and Guide - One of the top highlights of my Vacation

Paul is a fantastic tour guide. While this page does say it's a rainforest nighttime tour, there's a lot more to it. You get picked up at your hotel by Paul in his tour van and are supplied binoculars and a glowbelt for night activities....More

Thanks Jason. We are all about finding the animals and luckily we have lots to see, you just have to do it when it’s dark.

Way exceeded expectations

Absolutely recommend this tour. We were lucky in that there were just the two of us on the tour but Paul is attentive enough that I don't think a bigger group would be an issue. He advertises a 90%+ success rate in spotting Platypus and...More

Paul uses a minivan, so plenty of space for four of you, we stayed in Palm Cove and pick up was not a problem, slightly earlier than he advertises on his website, at 13:00
