Overview
Experiencing the underwater wonders of the Great Barrier Reef can be a challenge if you’re on a budget, so this tour offers the flexibility and affordability to choose only the activities you want. Cruise out from Cairns, stopping at two different locations, and opt for a guided or self-guided snorkeling excursion, try an introductory scuba dive, or enjoy a thrilling dive for certified divers only.
What to Expect

Make your own way to the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal, meet your captain and crew, and hop aboard your luxurious catamaran. As you set sail, gaze out across the Coral Sea and tuck into tasty muffins and tea or coffee. During the journey, the crew will review basic snorkeling techniques and help you get suited up for your first snorkel or dive.

Arrive at the first stop and, depending on your chosen activity, either head down to the snorkel platforms for easy access to the water or join your scuba instructor for your introductory or certified dive. Guided snorkel excursions are available for beginners or less-confident snorkelers, while dive masters accompany small groups of no more than six people.

After working up an appetite in the water, relax on deck while lunch the onboard chef prepares lunch. Then feast on a delicious buffet of hot and cold dishes, including vegetarian options and plenty of salads, fresh fruits, and bread. Cold drinks are available for purchase.

Continue to the second dive site, where you’ll have another chance to snorkel or dive. As you explore the vibrant corals of the Great Barrier Reef, look out for exotic marine life such as parrotfish, puffer fish, or clown fish. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a reef shark or sea turtle. If you have any questions about your sightings, all will be answered during a special marine life presentation once you’re back onboard.

After a full day at sea, set sail for Cairns, where your tour ends back at the cruise terminal.

Perfect for difficult diets

A member of our party has rather complex and unusual dietary limitations. Passions of Paradise is unusual in having a chef on board (as opposed to buying in standardised catering) who is able to cater for specific requirements -- with notice. We booked ahead and...More

We did the day cruise with Passions of Paradise for two reasons; one - they had been recommended by a friend, and two - they were cheaper than some of the other operators. I would highly recommend these guys. They are a local operator and...More
