Overview
Explore the best of Rottnest Island on this tour from Perth or Fremantle, which eliminates the need to plan transportation. Visit the tiny island that’s home to the quokka, often called the world’s happiest animal, as well as landmarks such as West End and Wadjemup Lighthouse. This bus portion of the tour includes commentary on the island’s history that you won’t get if touring independently.
What to Expect

Begin your tour at the dock from either from Fremantle or Perth to take your high-speed ferry to Rottnest Island. After the 25-minute journey across the Indian Ocean, hop on the coach to circumnavigate the island on a bus tour.

Learn the history of the island, stopping at landmarks such as West End and Wadjemup Lighthouse. Listen to commentary about the various wildlife that inhabits the island, including the quokka, known as the world’s happiest animal.

Admire the coastal views as you tour the island and keep your eye out for fur seals at Cathedral Rocks. End the tour at Thompson Bay, where you can stroll around the island at your own pace before catching the ferry back to the mainland.

Your tour ends where you began, in Fremantle or Perth.

We caught the Rottnest Express from Perth which was well appointed and well laid out with a small snack bar aboard. On arrival on Rottnest Island we had 40 minutes before our tour started so grabbed a coffee before heading over to our air conditioned...More

We did the day trip from Perth with Rottnest Express. The boat trip was very pleasant, except for the return trip which was quite bumpy due to the southerly wind. No fault of the operator of course. The train to Oliver Hill had broken down,...More

Check their website. I think there were a couple of departure times. We checked it out the day before. Enjoy. It’s a great experience.
