Highlights
    What to Expect
Make your way to the Steamer Wharf at Queenstown’s waterfront, and present your voucher for a cruise on the TSS Earnslaw. The "TSS" in the name stands for “twin screw steamer”, and the TSS Earnslaw is the last remaining coal-fired passenger steamer in the southern hemisphere, propelled by a pair of screw propellers mounted on either side of the hull.

You have time to explore the ship during the cruise, and don’t miss the chance to head below decks to the engine room, where stokers feed a roaring coal fire. Explore the small onboard museum that's located in the forecastle, or head to the TSS Earnslaw’s café, where snacks and drinks are available for purchase. There are also dramatic views of the mountains that surround the lake, which has a maximum depth of 1,250 feet (380 meters) before making the return trip across Lake Wakatipu to Queensland’s Steamer Wharf, where this tour concludes.

After enjoying the viewing of the coal fired steam engine, the ride to dinner at the plantation was fabulous! There was every and anything on the buffet you could ever imagine, all very fresh and tasty. Afterward watched the sheep shearing presentation, concluding with a

If you love cramming onto a boat with a bunch of pushy tourists, then this is what you want to do. The scenery is gorgeous. The boat, an old, coal fired steamship, is well preserved. The staff was great. We just didn't like the cattle drive.

Kia Ora, we are delighted that overall you enjoyed the experience on our 107 year old steamship with our fantastic crew & the stunning scenery. We do apologize if you felt the boat was crammed during this particular day. This was during the busy school holidays and Golden week (Chinese holidays period). Regards, the team at Real Journeys.

Was really happy with the cruise over and back from the farm and the afternoon tea was pretty delightful. Ended up being warmer in the sun than expected but nice all the same. If I had no kids, would be nice just to sit back and enjoy a meal at the restaurant instead of the farm

An excursion around a lake wiith few exciting encounters. A pleasant excursion that doesn't live up to the hype. One does see coal being shoveled . Not very exciting.

Kia Ora, we are disappointed to read your review about your recent experience on the TSS Earnslaw. The cruise aboard a 107 vintage steamship with time to enjoy and explore the boat and see its rich history first hand. There is plenty to see and do on board, from visiting the engine room to exploring our mini-museum and joining in a sing-along with our pianist or just sitting out on the deck taking in the amazing Queenstown backdrop. The other alternative would have been to disembark at Walter Peak and experience our delicious BBQ Lunch & Farm Show. Regards, the team at Real Journeys.

This is so worth doing especially to see the workings of this beautiful old ship which was launched the year before the Titanic was! We didn't do the farm visit. Just the cruise across the lake and back again but this was perfect to do on our last day in QT! It's quite busy as
