Oh this was brilliant. The cafe on board is better than most cafes in Queenstown (well-priced too), stunning views the whole time, staff are brilliant even when the boat is swamped. Well worth the $70 even if you don't get off!

We went for the evening cruise including dinner. It was a fabulous cruise and a fabulous meal. Beautiful scenery to watch on the way. The full workings of the boat are on display as the guys tend the engines. Polite and friendly service from the waiting staff. Sensible prices for drinks. The meal at the lodge was seriously impressive. 3 courses with fresh seafood cheeses cold cuts and olives etc followed by a range of freshly cut beef lamb pork and venison. Plus vegetables. The desert course was superb. And all can be requested as many times as your appetite can handle. Fantastic service too from Angelica. Peter the shepherd was very informative and gave a great display with Skye and Kim. We loved this cruisey evening and thoroughly recommend it to all young old families singles in fact everyone.

You can see why she's called the Lady of the Lake. She has a dignified feel about her that comes with over 110 years service. She is beautiful, inside and out. Hubby was very impressed with the 3 cylinder steam engine, which can be seen working from a viewing platform above the engine room. They serve drinks and lovely biccies and loaf from the on board cafe.

The trip across Lake Wakatipu was gorgeous. The lake was a little choppy but the boat handled it beautifully. The sights of the lake, the mountains and Walter Peak station were awe inspiring. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

The Earnslaw trip highly recommended and the BBQ at Walter Peak Station a must do well worth every $$$. So many choices of Meats, Vegetables Salads Breads and Desserts. The Sticky Date is absolutely worth having.
I am going back to Queenstown in August and definitely going to do this trip again.

Really enjoyed the whole experience, being able to watch the crew and the engine was surprisingly interesting and the scenery as we headed to Walter Peak is stunning.

The BBQ dinner at the Station is truly gourmet and we couldn't fault the quantity or quality of the meal. We also enjoyed walking around the farm and the 'dog show' was also entertaining.

This was much better than I was expecting and I would definitely recommend it for everyone to enjoy.

We arrived in Queenstown on the 14th March for a quick 4 day stay, and one of the things on our "to do" list was the Walter Peak Dinner Cruise. We managed to book for that very night and we are so glad we did. It is an incredible vessel with so much history attached to it, my fiancee and I loved sitting up near the bow out it the open air enjoying a couple of drinks on the journey across to Walter Peak where we enjoyed an beautiful dinner (good enough that I actually went and thanked the chefs). We also saw a great exhibition of a working sheep dog and shearing show. I have previously been on this cruise many years ago and it was fantastic to be able to do it again. We can't wait to come back.

I thought I could sit back, relax and enjoy the view but it was the opposite. Children running around and loud, radio/music on in the background and kids playing the piano..too much noise all at the same time. Enjoyed the view and listening to the history of the boat though.

Taking the TSS Earnslaw to the Walter Peak station was rather a unique surprise. From boarding to the trip and the visit to the farm, I cannot fault the operation. It is certainly worth looking into NZ history.

Just do it. I did the dinner cruise a while ago so went with the 90 minute cruise to Walter Peak station and back. It was a stunning day and very hot so the lake breeze and a couple of glasses of wine really helped. The Earnslaw and it's size and the ability to see how a steamship works is just as fascinating as it ever was.

Overpriced at $80NZ for one and half hours. I would not recommend this if you’re looking for an interesting trip. The scenery is beautiful but for the price it is not worth it. On the way back passengers are families mostly with young children and the boat becomes very noisy and crowded. Disappointing.
