Overview
Discover the quiet beaches and native wildlife of Australia’s Gold Coast on this half-day guided kayaking tour. Kayak to Wavebreak Island and South Stradbroke Island, where you snorkel and visit secluded beaches while your guide offers information about the local environment and animals. This tour includes kayaking and snorkeling instruction before heading out, as well as lunch and round-trip transportation from your hotel.
What to Expect

Following pickup at your Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach hotel, head to the Broadwater Tourist Park, where you meet your guide for the morning kayak tour. Receive safety information, paddling instruction, and gear before launching your kayak into the calm Broadwater channel.

As you paddle to nearby islands, be on the lookout for turtles, dolphins, stingrays, and eagles. You might even spot migrating humpback whales, if you’re traveling between May and November. When you reach Wavebreak Island, enjoy a picnic breakfast, and then spend an hour swimming and snorkeling with the provided gear. Continue to South Stradbroke Island, where you stroll the surfing beach while spotting the hundreds of wild golden wallabies that are endemic to the island.

Your 5-hour tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

Stradbroke Island Kayak and Snorkeling Tour

A great morning paddle, unfortunately no dolphins or wallabies to be seen but plenty of fish to be seen whilst snorkelling, overall a fun mornings activity and back by lunchtime.

They are sit upon kayaks and very stable. I don’t think there would be a problem up to 300 lbs. Wet suit rentals of the right size may be a problem if it’s winter.
