The Auschwitz concentration camp was a network of concentration and extermination camps built and operated by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II. It was built in 1940 and was liberated in 1945 by Soviet Union. Around 1,1mln people were killed there, mainly Jews and Poles. It's mostly known for the holocaust. It's subdivided into 3 parts- Auschwitz, Auschwitz-Birkenau and Auschwitz-Monowitz. It's named the World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Pick up from the hotel you point in the city and a ride to one of the most frightening places in the world. The one way ride to Oświęcim takes about 1 hour. The entrance tickets are included and you will be able to spend there as much time as you'll need.
