    What to Expect
Check in at Talkeetna State Airport 30 minutes before your 1.5-hour flight and board your plane seating a max of six passengers. Get out your camera as your pilot takes you over Denali Mountain, formerly Mt McKinley. This flight experience allows you to see all sides of the great mountain: north, south, east and west.
Some of the majestic sights covered on this flight include Wickersham Wall, Kahiltna Glacier, Climber’s Base Camp, Kahiltna Pass, and the West Buttress Climbing Route. (See below for a list of more points of interest.)
Curious about the glaciers and want to set foot on one? Upgrade your flight package to include a landing on an actual glacier. Stand beneath the towering mountains in a tranquil world of snow and ice, before you’re taken back to the airport.
    Denali Grand Tour Highlights:

    • Tokosha Mountains and the winding Tokositna Glacier
    • Don Sheldon Amphitheater
    • Great Gorge
    • Terminus of the Ruth Glacier and the bubbling spring
    • South Hunter Ice Fall (about 2,000 feet of ice fall)
    • Kahiltna Glacier (2 miles wide and 45 miles long)
    • Climber’s Base Camp, at the 7,200 foot level of the Kahiltna Glacier
    • Denali’s West Buttress Climbing Route
    • ‘The Great One’ (aka Denali and Mt McKinley (20,320 ft), and her two sister peaks Mt Foraker (17,400 ft) and Mt Hunter (14,573 ft)
    • Wickersham Wall, 14,000 feet of continuous rise of rock and ice

This was hands down one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had of my many adventures. Landing on the Kahiltna Glacier at Base Camp on the south west slopes of Denali makes you feel very small in the grand scheme of things. Patrick, our pilot,...More

I believe landing on the glacier is dependant on a number of weather factors, so you really don't know if its gonna happen until the pilot makes the call on approach.
