Meet your guide at the Pythian Castle to experience an unusual part of Springfield, Missouri history. Start the tour with a 6-minute video presentation that introduces the Knights of Pythias and their ‘Pythian home of Missouri,’ then follow an experienced guide through the rest of the house.
Enjoy a tour that blends history with fun facts and entertainment as you make your way through the main floor lobby, ballroom and buffet rooms, and hear stories about the celebrities, orphans and military members who have used the castle through the years.
Descend into basement cells that housed prisoners of war during WWII, and find the gargoyles that still keep watch over the dungeon. Visit a second floor theater for stories about the castle history, then finish your tour in the tower room, the highest point on the castle grounds. Only the main floor of the castle is wheelchair accessible, and tours involve climbing stairs with resting points along the way.
